Every so often, we realize that the stresses of daily life are taking their toll and that we need some time to disconnect, to take a hiatus from the world and relax. We need to stop worrying about work, school, money, errands, etc., and take some time for ourselves. This time away gives us a chance to re-familiarize ourselves with the person that we are and provides the necessary space that we need to develop and become the person we want to be. Reveal a new, more balanced you through a blend of relaxation, nutritious cuisine, exercise and spa indulgence that will allow you to discover new sources of energy and vitality. Give yourself some much needed me time, in the perfect setting and the perfect environment.
Isla Verde has nine independent wooden cabins and two brand new apartments for families or groups, all decorated in a simple but hip style we like to call eco chic; antique Mayan fabrics share the space with some modern touches, contemporary naf paintings and antiques. We also believe a good nights sleep is priceless, hence we have fit each bed with proper firm mattress and cotton sheets that go really well with our noise-free environment. Each cabin is set on a hillside that requires some climbing, but we guarantee that your efforts will be rewarded with spectacular views of Lake Atitlan and a sense of peace and communion with nature.
Isla Verde is set in one of the most quiet, safest, and well-preserved corners of Lake Atitlan, in Santa Cruz La Laguna. While lounging in our lakeside garden you will feel worlds away from the commotion of everyday life. There are no roads, no traffic, and no public dock near us, only lake breezes, birds singing, and occasional hikers passing by on the footpath.
Our location affords you the classic lake vista of volcanoes looming over the water, plus direct access to one of the safest, most scenic walks around the lake. Isla Verde offers the perfect mix of seclusion and accessibility.
Stay here in our sanctuary and enjoy the activities offered at Isla Verde, or use it as a great jumping-off place to explore the lake. There is frequent boat service to the other lake communities, and the hotel is easily-reached from the main transportation hub of Panajachel.

The hotel is located on the waterfront of Santa Cruz la Laguna.
There is no road access to Santa Cruz so you need to take a boat from Panajachel or San Pedro, Panajachel being the most common town to arrive in.
Once you arrive in Pana you need to get to the Tzanjuy dock at the end of Calle del Embarcadero, where all the boats leave for San Pedro, San Marcos and Santa Cruz (everybody knows this dock and any travel agency will drop you there on request).
Once at the dock you need to take a public boat (10 GTQ per person) to Santa Cruz - they leave every 15 to 30 minutes, the first one at 6 a.m. and the last one at 7.30 p.m.
Please remember to ask the driver to drop you at Isla Verdes private dock so you save yourself a little walk from the main dock (10minutes).
They may charge you an extra 5 GTQ for this drop off. If you are arriving outside of these hours, or would like a more direct boat service, please let us know ahead of time and we can arrange a private boat to pick you up.
