Scotty Leigh-Janney from ‘Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Beyond’ and his wife Rachel Leigh-Janney from ‘Herbalicious Foods’ are delighted to host and share this Kundalini Yoga and Plant-Based Retreat in the Lake District. Scotty will be sharing his love of Kundalini yoga to inspire the mind, body and spirit along with gong sound healing, meditation, relaxation and guided walks. Rachel will let you experience how amazing clean plant-based food can taste. After running retreats for a few years, they always get asked for all the recipes after the retreat so people can take this into their life at home. They've listened to their feedback so you will be learning how to make clean plant meals (and yes, you can have all the recipes after the retreat).

There are a variety of private double rooms along with sharing twin and triple rooms. The rooms are all en-suite and very spacious with high-quality linen and wonderful views across Lake Coniston.



You will have a morning Kundalini yoga practice before breakfast around one to two hours including Kriya, relaxation and meditation. You will complete the full Aquarian Sadhana on at least one morning.

During the morning, there will be the option for either a yogic workshop with Scotty or a plant-based workshop with Rachel. Yogic workshops with Scotty will consist of guided walk, guided meditation and Chakra balancing.

Food workshops with Rachel will consist of making plant-based meals including yummy desserts (usually gooey chocolate or cheesecake), everyday basics such as almond or coconut milk along with preparing part of the evening meal.

Afternoon - Free time

There are usually afternoon workshops whilst on retreat; however, as you are surrounded by so much natural beauty, Scotty and Rachel decided to leave the afternoon as free time!

All food is naturally gluten-free, refined sugar-free and vegan. Please ensure you let Rachel know about any other specific dietary requirements. And remember this retreat includes plant-based workshops so you'll be learning how to make some of this yummy food too!


  • Breakfast example: Freshly made waffles with blueberry compote, homemade cinnamon granola, mango and pancakes and homemade Nutella, apple and cinnamon porridge bake, fresh fruit, seeds and fresh juice or smoothies
  • There will be refreshments available throughout the whole retreat so help yourself to herbal yogi teas, fruit and snacks.
  • A buffet-style lunch served will be served each day. An example lunch is roasted red pepper, tomato and basil soup, followed by homemade falafel, hummus, avocado, salad and beetroot quinoa.
  • You will serve a 2 or 3-course plant-based evening meal. The menus are adapted with the seasons and depending on new things created in the kitchen. Rest assured there is always lots of to eat!

Things to do (optional)

Here are a few of the reasons why you'll love some free time:

  • Sporty type - there is some great running and cycling paths around the area
  • Relaxing walk - It's a gentle 10-minute walk along the road side down to the lake from the house or a 30-minute walk down to the boathouse cafe
  • Maybe you're a water kinda person - Hire a boat on the lake
  • Depending on your yoga journey with a one to one with Scotty
  • Rest - feel free to sit in one of the two lounges in the house. One lounge will be a social lounge and the second lounge will be a silent area for anyone who would love some time with their inner self.
  • Gardens - spend the afternoon relaxing there are lots of gentle walks around the garden or take a gentle stroll down to Coniston Lake.
  • Or fancy a treatment? Rachel will be bringing all her Tropic Skincare so if you'd love a complimentary facial or foot spa, just let her know.

Spa treatments

Arrival by aeroplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA). Please ensure you let Scotty and Rachel know where you are travelling from and they will connect you with others travelling from your area (if you want to car share or travel together).

Arrival by car

Driving from Birmingham is three hours, you need to take a break and have something to eat along the way so please allow four hours for the journey.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
