Immerse yourself in yoga, nature, and healthy food this autumn, on the edge of the quiet and wild landscape of Dartmoor, away from cars and busy lives. You can relax and be active in this weekend by doing yoga and enjoying nature. You will also enjoy your time foraging for wild food, cooking, going on Dartmoor walks, and sharing. Be prepared for peace, tranquility, outdoor activities, and healthy living!
During the retreat, you will reside at the Buzzard Cottage, a four-star self-catering cottage with comfortable en suite bathrooms. Buzzard Cottage offers ten very comfortable en suite bedrooms on two floors with a yoga space, lounge, dining room and kitchen. There is a choice of sharing a room with one other or having your own room.
Mornings will be dedicated to yoga, and you will have plenty of time to deepen your practice plus immerse yourself in body and mind practices, learning sequences from a complete system of ancient yoga.
You will also have the opportunity to get involved in cooking healthy organic vegetarian meals. After lunch there will be the opportunity to enjoy guided walks together, length suited to individual requirements. During these walks, you will forage for wild foods bringing your harvest back for cooking and sharing.
This is a budget retreat at Blackadon Barns on the edge of Dartmoor with yoga teacher and outdoor leader, Liz Turner. Enjoy three days and two nights that will include yoga classes, wild food foraging and cooking, Dartmoor walks, time to rest and restore, and cooking delicious healthy vegetarian food (dietary needs are catered for).
Liz Turner teaches Vinyasa Krama yoga, paying attention to people’s individual needs with an approach that is mindful and authentic, with breathing and meditation. She has also led many nature walks focusing in particular on the food and medicinal uses of trees and other plants.
In return for this reduced price, Into Yoga and Nature asks that you provide them with a testimonial and consent to the use of photos, and that you get involved in the enjoyable activity of group cooking and washing up.
This retreat includes Dartmoor walks including wild food foraging and nature connection practices. Different lengths of walks can be accommodated.
Liz has been practicing yoga for over 14 years with a range of teachers & traditions (the Forge Yoga Centre in Totnes, Harbour House in Kingsbridge, Michelle Levi, Ra Lalita Dasi, international teacher Debbie Mills, and teachers/ashrams in India). She is qualified with the Satya Loka School of Yoga and Traditional Tantra, completing her YTT at the Alpen Retreat, Austria. She teaches Vinyasa Krama, which she is learning with Stephen Brandon, who in turn has learnt from Krishnamacharya’s long standing pupil, Srivatsa Ramaswami. Liz brings together her fascination for yoga and nature in retreats.
This retreat will take place at Blackadon Barn Holiday Cottages in Devon, UK. The Barn has great views over the South Hams countryside and the grounds have plenty of space to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet. The cottages are surrounded by specially created wildlife areas, ancient woods, and an orchard.
This retreat will provide you with three delicious meals a day with vegetarian, organic, local (where possible) ingredients. You can have the opportunity to get involved in cooking as a group.
There will be an optional massage service available for you to book at an extra cost.
Please park in the car park in your allocated space or along side the garages for New Buzzard Cottage. If uncertain please ask. Please come to the reception - back door of the farm house.
