Integrative Wellness Yoga is working hard to support the Nepali community. You will be trekking through the breathtaking regions where you will have spectacular and life long memorable views of the Himalayas, lakes, rivers, and wildlife. You will go through forest and villages with many beautiful valleys while connecting your emotions with the energy of these great mountains each day with yoga practice and mindful connection to wellness.
All accommodation on the trek is at local Nepali tea house style accommodation. These tea houses are an iconic institution of Nepal trekking, full of characters and thriving local culture. The rooms are usually either twin share or dorm style with a common lounge area. If the weather is slightly cold in the evening, the fire will be lit if the woods has been gathered by the hard-working local village ladies.
Aim to take your experience with Integrative Wellness Yoga to not only begin or deepen your yoga practice, but to really enjoy each day of the trek and to learn about the culture of each region along the journey. You will meet many local village people of Nepal, who will be eager to share their lives with you.
If you are tired of traffic and tourists and want to see stunning mountain scenery and longing to experience traditional, untouched Nepal and its people, then this is the trek for you. The destination is Gurja Khani, the hidden village and by going there, you will get a deeply enriching cultural experience.
The Integrative Wellness Yoga team will greet you in either Kathmandu or Pokhara to help you with your orientation and your journey into the alluring mountains while taking time out for yourself will commence. On arrival, you will be given a detailed daily program itinerary that will suit the level of the group and on the first and last day, you will require some transport by jeep to get to the starting and the finishing point.
The style of yoga practice each day will vary on the group from deep Asthanga stretch to a gentle Hatha joint movement session with a one to one and a half hour duration. You will walk approximately three to five hours per day on the trek and Integrative Wellness Yoga has mixed it up between a light or a hard day’s trekking terrain. You will stop for breaks to rest and have snacks in between.
At sunset, you will get time to breath and mediate, taking in the amazing mountain air and energy, followed by a 45-minute wellness workshop session to give you the tools for your inner journey and barriers to change in your life, after the evening meal. Then, you will have free time to relax and chat to other travelers, retire to bed if you are tired or simply read book or maybe you would like to mingle with the local, friendly village people.
