"This is the one to choose!"

The immersion into teaching from the beginning to end building in increments was fantastic. The curriculum and instructors were knowledgeable, helpful, and all around genuine and caring people that want you and will help you to succeed! Great accommodation with great vegan meals. A short walk in the jungle to the yoga deck is the perfect start to every morning. Wild horses, toucans, and a troop of monkeys were a few animals that joined us and crossed our path on the way to and from daily classes.

"Amazing life changing experience"

I deeply enjoyed the location as it wasn’t a quiet private resort style but a lively community place where we can learn about mindful activities and how to apply them in our daily lives with noise and distraction. I loved how caring and informative all the teachers were as I felt I could trust and rely on them which is so important during this progress. I definitely grew as a person as I stepped out of my comfort zone and learned so much about things I’ve always craved to know. It was a beautiful experience and I couldn’t have asked for anything more, maybe some more time because I loved it so much! The food was AMAZING, I am vegan and have been for several years so eating so abundantly and purely made me so happy.

"Couldn't have had better training!"

The training was very well organized and the trainers were super knowledgeable. They really took the time for everybody to understand the topics and poses.

The location is amazing: in the jungle and near a river. It's really a little paradise!

"Things to know before going "

Jen and Madison (the other teachers not the main) we’re absolutely some of the best humans I’ve ever met. I adore them and learned so much from them.. the way they held everyone was perfect and whole. I’m beyond grateful for meeting them and will continue relationships with both. Jen is a magical fairy queen lady and brought us all together so much more than we could’ve thought. She’s a shaman that holds the light and darkness so well. Forever grateful for her. Maddison just had a baby but still showed up in her fullest self and is one of the chillest people on the planet but also one wise lady. They made the retreat worth it.

"Yoga Certification for Every BODY"

I enjoyed the yoga certification class and the atmosphere that was provided for me to really develop my skills both in the Yoga Asanas and in the Meditation Practice. The teachers were the best and if one didn't suit your style the other teachers did. They made this the best experience I could have had. The clean eating and the prepared food were excellent. The owners were super nice and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would do it again!

"Amazing Experience"

I went with my oldest daughter and youngest son. We learned so much and worked hard but still enjoyed the experience. Hospitality and food were wonderful and made us all feel so good. The area was beautiful and even had a great fitness club just 100 meters up the road my son enjoyed almost every night. Can't say enough good things about Courtney and her program.

"Full emersion in every aspect of yoga"

Let’s be clear and set the right expectations; it is a lot! Long hours of practicing, studying, listening and learning. And I loved it!!

As long as you don’t fight it, open yourself up , walk barefoot across the river stones and allow yourself to enjoy the new; you will have a great experience.

All teachers brought their own style and background to everything they were teaching. I was expecting mostly the teaching of the postures, but was very happy that I learned so much around it; philosophy, anatomy, breath, meditation and teaching skills.

The food was great; nothing super pretentious, just very good local vegan food with every colour of the rainbow included. We asked for a cooking workshop; so now I can make my own empanadas at home 😋

It was an amazing experience due to all the teachers, staff and fellow students!

"Amazing heart/eye/mind-opening experience"

I can't say enough good things about this experience! I've had a very thorough yoga asana regimen over the past couple years, entirely for the physical/athletic aspects, but wanted to do a 200-hr to take a deeper dive into yoga. This YTT opened up a whole new world for me. In addition to learning about poses, how to teach, and proper alignment, what I think really changed my life was how much we learned, practiced, and discussed philosophy and spiritualism.

Logistically, everything here is taken care of - lodging, food (INCREDIBLE), getting around, etc. so you can really invest all of your time into learning, bettering yourself, and cultivating meaningful relationships with those around you. You also get to immerse yourself into Costa Rican culture between the quaint, beautiful town, and the lovely people who are helping to facilitate your stay.

Just to touch on the food again, it is so fresh and so clean (not to be confused with Outkast), and so tasty. The chef is such a sweetheart, and very creative with her creations. We liked the food so much, we asked her to host a cooking class for us, which she was kind enough to do. I could happily eat like that for the rest of my life and never miss dairy/gluten/meat.

Courtney is truly an inspiration, and so knowledgeable about all aspects of yoga. The facilitators are also very experienced, knowledgeable, and driven, and each have a unique perspective/energy/skillset to offer.

"Amazing Expirience!"

The course was really amazing. Vanessa, Courtney and Madinson are the teacher we had the most of the hours and they all great teacher. I think I could not get better ones! I learned so much. And we started at the first day already with learning how to teach, what helped me a lot. We also had a lot of different workshops and had the opportunity to try different yogastyles and get to know the teaching style of different teacher what was cool. We also learnd a lot about the yoga philosophy, what was super interesting and Courtney just teach it with her amazing powerful enthusiasm way.

They all had always an open ear for every needs. And the atmosphere at the whole place was just magic. So peaceful just perfect for doing yoga!... And that was important because it's a lot of impact! I really highly recommend to read the books in advance especially the yoga sutra!

The accommodation was also really nice Marie and Julio the owner are super friendly and they make you feel like home! So when you have any problem. Julio find something in the dschungle against it.^^

And Gabi the chief just cooks amazing vegan food! We could also do a cooking class with her. And there are a nice waterfall close by where you can slide down or jump...what is fun😁... I would book it ever again! A really life changing experience!

"Absolutely amazing and wonderful, highly recommended!"

I loved everything about this experience, from the amazing vegan food to doing yoga and meditation in the jungle every morning, surrounded by nature, deepening my healing journey and learning so much about the philosophy of yoga and also about myself. I can really recommend this course, the teachers were all absolutely amazing and brought beautiful energies and knowledge and each of them had their own style which was very inspiring. The accommodation was very lovely, welcoming and well located, the food was fantastic, traditional Costa Rican and everything vegan. The program of the course is very well structured and we learnt so much in these 200 hours and I feel ready to teach yoga classes now.

It was a wonderful experience and I am very grateful for it.

"Incredible"

Wow. What a life-changing, love-filled YTT. I am so glad I chose this training. Courtney, along with two other facilitators, brought the magic and created the best space for our group to learn. From breaking down the asanas to diving deep into philosophy, this curriculum was well-rounded and heightened with the incorporation of art and playful activities, bringing out the inner child. I will most definitely be returning for 300 hour training when I get the opportunity!

"Yoga Paradise!!"

My mom and I came both came already certified as yoga teachers but wanting a retreat where we could do lots of yoga and learn and this was the perfect trip for that. Courtney and the other instructors were so helpful and warm and welcomed us into the teacher training going on with open arms. This training was more meditation, philosophy and alignment focused than the training I had received and so it was the perfect rounding out of my yoga education. I really feel like this was where I was meant to be both personally and as a yogi. It also helped that it was in the most beautiful place in the world with delicious food and incredible people. I cannot recommend it enough.

"Excellent training "

Can highly recommend this training, it was a great experience all in all. Instructors were very kind and knowledgeable, they make you feel comfortable and at home in what is a very intense couple of weeks both physically and emotionally.

It was definitely more intense and tough than I imagined, prepare to have only very little free time as nights and a good part of the weekend will be spent on homework, I don’t think this can be any different with 200 hr in three weeks but just prepare mentally for this.

Would def recommend this training, schedule is varied with various field trips included and the food is excellent.

"Professional, thorough and enlightening training :-)"

Gypsea yoga school exceeded my expectations in so many ways, personally and professionally. The curriculum is very well designed, allowing us to learn so many things in a short period of time. The balance between practice, asana workshops, philosophy and teaching practice kept us moving making our days very enjoyable and allowed us not only to really understand what yoga is, but also to feel confident teaching it once we've graduated. I greatly enjoyed the fact that we began practicing teaching on day 1. Our teachers were so incredibly dedicated to make this training a success, plus they had complementary styles and specializations (yin, ashtanga, kids yoga, acro, sublte energy, etc.) which gave us the opportunity to learn about many differents aspects of yoga and discover our personal preferences. It is also a very powerful personal experience, since it is the perfect environment to refocus and discover your true self, through meditation and introspection, but also while taking the opportunity to exchange with supportive, open-minded and loving people, wether teachers of fellow students. My main advice for future Gypsea students: Please keep in mind that it is NOT a vacation. You spend long days learning and practicing and there is a lot of homework at night, which is a good thing. It shows it is a serious program that really prepares you to become a yoga teacher, so if you want to make the best out of it, make sure you're ready to work hard and fully invest yourself.

"Amazing Experience"

The property is really cool; be prepared to spot wildlife from your room or from the amazing jungle yoga platform. The food is delicious; Mari made a huge variety of meals over the course of three weeks, all of which were tasty and nourishing. Most importantly, the quality of instruction and support provided by the teachers is phenomenal. Courtney has poured her heart and soul into the curriculum design and development of the course, and it shows. You will leave not only ready to teach an asana class, but also with a solid foundational understanding of yogic philosophy and the 8 limbs of yoga. The other instructors were fantastic, too, each providing a different style of instruction, but harmonizing beautifully with the overall goal of the course. Also, Kais, the chiropractor, is amazing. Make an appointment with him- you won't regret it!

"Magic happened here"

The whole experience far-surpassed my expectations. Courtney, Monica, Amber and all of the instructors were incredible. They were able to infuse their own funky styles and incredible personalities into every session, making them extremely fun as well as educational. The facilities were magical. Tucked into the jungle, every day was a nature-filled adventure with visits from monkeys, sloths, toucans and more. The rooms were cleaned 2x a week or more. Mari's cooking is the stuff dreams are made of. If I could clone her, I would. I never left the table hungry or unsatisfied with a meal. I hope she comes out with a cookbook someday. Julio's garden is beautiful and his love for it shines through when he teaches you about all the plants and what you can use them for.

Taking this class was the best thing I ever could have done for myself. I learned so much more than just yoga and left feeling like I had a family for life. I can't put into words just how incredible the experience was...especially considering it was so much more affordable than many other places. Also, knowing that my money was going towards Forjando Olas, a local community youth center, made me even happier knowing I was helping create a better educational experience for the amazing people in the community. Gypsea yoga is magic!!!

"Pure and utter gratitude "

What a life changing experience. Every bit of this program exceeded my expectations and there was genuine care and support from not only the other students but especially from each of the facilitators and volunteers. I was in constant awe and intrigue with all the time and thought put into each bit of the program. The daily class schedule flows well through asana, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy, practice teaching with hands on learning as well as group discussions. The host of the hostel makes hands down top knotch vegan food for every meal. The hostel, platform, and studio are all so beautiful tucked inside a jungle, with daily guests like sloth and monkeys playing around the trees outside. Such a beautiful program and experience. I would do this all over again! THANK YOU!!

The curriculum provided a complete and thorough education of Yoga. My personal Asana practice was deepened, I developed a new understanding and love for the the other limbs of yoga, and I was given ample experience with teaching and well as invaluable constructive criticism.

Costa Rica and Uvita are beautiful, the food was delicious, and the people were kind. I enjoyed being immersed in the jungle and being able to focus on the study of yoga while also still having plenty of amenities.

"A Transformational Training In The Jungle "

In a nutshell, this experience was amazing. It was challenging and frustrating at times (be ready to go back to square one when it comes to some parts of your practice!) but totally worth it. I came into the training feeling nervous, unsure of myself and riddled with anxiety, and left with a heart filled with gratitude, joy and confidence that this was the best possible decision for both my mental and physical health. Thank you to Courtney, Monica and Kalyani for making the experience so wonderful and memorable!

"Jungle, Beach, Sunshine = Yoga Heaven!"

The facilitators are all incredible - everyone comes from a different background and offers a unique set of experience and tools to share. The setting is beautiful in and of itself - the classes/ accommodation are more in the jungle setting, but also really close to several beaches, waterfalls and river. Mari's cooking is AMAZING! I was expecting very little variety in the food, but we had something unique almost every day. Gypsea Yoga School arms you with the tools and confidence to go out into the world and teach your heart out, and continue your learning. Thank you for such an incredible experience!

"Wind, Water, Air and Fire"

Courtney takes the student on a journey, she utilizes different teaching modalities , that are designed to challenge us to grow, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually . As we strive to become better human beings, and teachers , we have the opportunity to learn at a deeper level the ancient roots of yoga . Rewarding friendships are forged, as you share a common and unique experience with fellow participants. The yoga training is hosted in a magical and natural jungle setting as toucans, sloths and monkeys bear witness to your asanas. In cahoots with Courtney these jungle spirits work with her as she brings the divine love, joy and laughter into your learning experience. If you feel intuitively pulled towards attending this training...follow and honor your instinct. I highly recommend Gypsea Yoga School.
