Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training India

Rishikesh, the world capital of yoga has been one of India's holiest and most spiritual centers for thousands of years. It is known as Tapo Bhumi, meaning the place for yoga and meditation of the Gods. Rishikesh is a peaceful temple town where the Ganges River flows clear and full of spiritual energy. This life-changing journey will purify you at the physical, psychological, and mental levels. You will experience a beautiful transformation and savor the joy of living with an open heart. Over the course of 24 days, you will participate in Hatha multi-style yoga sessions, practice meditation, and purification techniques, while also immersing yourself in traditional spiritual principles and visions from classical yoga including the non-dual tradition of Advika Vedanta. You will also experience living in a community dedicated to living with an open heart and have the opportunity to participate in weekly events such as Bhajans (devotional singing).

There is a 24-hour Wi-Fi connection and not to mention all the sunshine and fresh air to refresh and rejuvenate you as you go deeper into the practice of yoga. In this 200-hour yoga teacher training, apart from anatomy, philosophy, physiology, and teaching practice, India Yoga Yttc indulges their students in the practice of different styles of asanas including Hatha, Vinyasa (dynamic flow), Yin, Ashtanga, Aerial. Alongside, India Yoga will organize Acro yoga sessions and Ayurveda sessions too. In this manner, the student has the option of choosing their own style of yoga practice and teaching in the future. India Yoga also emphasizes on the therapeutic aspect of yoga, so that students who are suffering from the disease can join India Yoga for their own benefits and also for the help of others.

Hatha yoga

Hatha yoga is all about adjusting the body and mind. With ‘ha’ depicting the mystical sun, and ‘tha’ the moon, and the practice of Hatha yoga focusing to join, combine, or balance these two energies. A yoga class portrayed as ‘Hatha’ will commonly involve a set of physical postures and breathing techniques, practiced more slowly and with more stationary posture holds than perhaps a Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga class. And indeed, that is how we describe our Hatha yoga classes on India Yoga. Actually, however, Hatha means ‘force’ and is more commonly defined as ‘the yoga of force’, or ‘the means of reaching a state of yoga through force’. So Hatha yoga can be treated as anything you do with the body, including:

  • Asana - yoga postures
  • Pranayama - breathing exercises
  • Mantra - chanting or reciting Hymns
  • Mudra - hand gestures and poses
  • Shatkriyas and Shatkarmas - Cleansing techniques

Ashtanga yoga

This style of yoga involves integrating the breath with a dynamic series of postures - a process producing intense internal heat and ample sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. Continuous practice of Ashtanga yoga comes with all the benefits such as strength, flexibility, stress management, and inner peace. There is hardly any part of the body that doesn't work hard during the practice.

Vinyasa yoga

Vinyasa yoga is a creative style of yoga. Yoga poses are associated together with the breath in a flowing pattern. Normally it is referred to as “Flow” yoga. The excellence of Vinyasa yoga is diversity. There is no standard succession in Vinyasa yoga, so the style, movement, and intensity will all fluctuate depending on the instructor. Classes might be sequenced around a pinnacle posture, for example, a backbend, or they may concentrate on a specific theme, for example, the chakras or a form of yoga theory. The class may be dynamic and targeted towards strengthening postures, or it might be a slower flow with a priority on mobility and flexibility in the spine or the hips.

Aerial yoga

Aerial yoga or swing yoga helps to accomplish a full-body workout while being suspended from a hammock that is about two to three feet above the ground. In Aerial yoga, this hammock which is made of fibers acts as a swing, letting flexibility and free movement. It is used to change your dynamic contact with the ground, allowing you to sense your body better. Aerial yoga or Fly yoga as many call it includes major health benefits by implementing a workout that allows one to stretch and strengthen the body, without aggravating the joints or compressing the vertebrae. It is especially recommended for people who spend their long time in a sitting position or people suffering from back issues, as the hammock acts as a support system. You can try all the yoga postures suspended in the air and the fun of doing asanas in the air is exceptional.

Yin yoga

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga, integrating traditional Chinese medicinal practices with asanas. It is a more meditative version of the popular physical and spiritual discipline of yoga. This yoga practice helps you to sit for a longer period and more easily in meditation while stretching connective tissue around your joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). It is practiced for normally three to five minutes or longer to target the connective tissues rather than focusing on the muscles. Therefore, the asanas are more static, with little muscular engagement. Yin yoga has its foundations in Chinese traditions, unlike more famous and effective yoga disciplines that originated in India.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Jolly Grant Airport (DED). Transfer from this airport is included in the price. India Yoga will pick you up from the airport. If you fly into Indra Gandhi International Airport (DEL), you can take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport (DED). If you wish to be picked up at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), the transfer is available for an additional cost of 60 EUR.

Arrival by train

Rishikesh railway station - Yog Nagari. Bus, train, and taxi available from Delhi. The nearest railway station is Haridwar Train Station, it takes 45 minutes to the retreat location from there, you will find many buses, taxis, and another transportation service that will bring you to the school. If you want India yoga can arrange for your pick up from the station on request.

Arrival by taxi

You can take a taxi from Delhi Airport (DED). The distance is 210 kilometers. Once you confirm your spot, the India Yoga team will be in constant touch with you, advising and ensuring your smooth arrival to the school. The fare is around 4500 to 5000 INR.
