You will stay in Tallow Beach Houses during the retreat.

  • Deluxe single - sole use of 2-bedroom beach house. Non participating partner/friend welcome and can include meals.
  • En-suite single room - own double bedroom with private en-suite bathroom, shared kitchen and living area with one or two others.
  • Standard single room - own bedroom in 2-bedroom beach house, shared bathroom and kitchen with one or two others.


Program begins first day 6 p.m. with opening circle.Program ends with closing circle followed by dinner on the last evening-leave the next morning.

07:30 - 8:00 Meditation

A variety of traditional, guided sitting meditation techniques (those who cannot sit can lie down, sit with back against wall etc.

8:00 - 10:00 Therapeutic Vinyasa style yoga Asana

Using a flowing, focused sequence of postures, we will address the fundamental asanas to build a deeper understanding of postural bio-mechanics and learn to manage common areas of pain, tightness and weakness in the body. Though the practice is strength and fitness building, Flo creates a strong focus of awareness on the subtleties of the physical postures, core-strength, and the movement of the breath in the body. There will be alternatives given to those whose injuries or postural peculiarities prevent them from performing a posture with total comfort and safety.This practice will be of benefit to all, beginners to advanced students/teachers.

Freshly prepared, buffet style and vegetarian.

14:00 - 15:30 Free time

Have a massage, read, swim or explore the glorious environment.

16:00 - 18:00 Introspective Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga Nidra.

This session will be of particular benefit to those seeking a way to use their yoga practice to relax and ‘tune-in’ at a deeper level. In this session we will explore various breathing techniques, meditation and yoga nidra (guided visualization and deep-relaxation) to bring about a deep experience of connection with the very subtlest layers of our being. especially beneficial to those who have had a strongly Asana focused practice, or those who have stressful lives, and are not familiar with Yoga Nidra. (It is blissful!)

18:30 Evening Meal

The evening meal will be vegetarian, freshly prepared and delicious.

Retreat program may be altered depending on group size, venue, etc. Flo Fenton reserves the right to cancel the retreat with two weeks notice due to lack of interest or any unforeseen circumstances. In this eventuality students retreat fee including deposit will be refunded in full, however, no refund can be made of any other costs incurred.

Flo is a regular contributor to Australian Yoga Life magazine, and writes the regular Yoga Matters segment for Nature and Health magazine. She is currently registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest possible level of teaching experience, ERYT-500, and is also a member of Yoga Australia. Her style is both meditative and enlivening, balancing the active and the passive sides of your nature. As you focus within, developing the capacity to witness yourself, the sessions themselves become a form of yoga therapy which flows out into your life beyond the classroom.

Retreat location

These retreats are held at Tallow Beach Houses, which features individual beach-houses, each with two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge room, kitchen and deck. The beach-houses are set in natural bushland just behind the frontal dune system of Tallow Beach, one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches of the region. The yoga room is timber floored, large and light.

As a Byron Bay local for more than 20 years, Flo knows and has exclusive access to some of the very best therapists that Byron has to offer. These therapists are in such high demand that they are usually booked up one or two months in advance. On these retreats you will get the opportunity to access the highest quality of deep tissue and remedial massage, ayurvedic massage and consultations, chakra balancing and energy work and more.

On these retreats you will also have the opportunity to book in with Flo for a mini private yoga session. In these sessions, injuries and other unique individual peculiarities can be addressed. You will receive a home practice that you can continue with at home. These treatments and sessions are available as optional extras for an additional fee.

How to get there

Arrival by bus

The nearest airport is in Ballina (25 minutes by car.) From Ballina Airport, a shuttle bus can be arranged that will take you right to Tallow Beach Houses where the retreat takes place.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 60 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
