On these retreats, you will get the opportunity to learn the true essence of yoga life-style and practice from an expert in the field…and from someone who truly lives yoga.
Because Flo’s focus is in paring back unnecessary additions to the practice to reach the true foundation of each technique offered, these retreats offer a deep insight into yoga for all levels. Those who are experienced teachers regularly come to these retreats for fine tuning, and to re-inspire their own practice and teaching, whilst those who are just starting out on their yoga journey will be led into the practice at a level that is appropriate and beneficial.
Program begins first day 6 p.m. with opening circle.Program ends with closing circle followed by dinner on the last evening-leave the next morning.
A variety of traditional, guided sitting meditation techniques (those who cannot sit can lie down, sit with back against wall etc.
Using a flowing, focused sequence of postures, we will address the fundamental asanas to build a deeper understanding of postural bio-mechanics and learn to manage common areas of pain, tightness and weakness in the body. Though the practice is strength and fitness building, Flo creates a strong focus of awareness on the subtleties of the physical postures, core-strength, and the movement of the breath in the body. There will be alternatives given to those whose injuries or postural peculiarities prevent them from performing a posture with total comfort and safety.This practice will be of benefit to all, beginners to advanced students/teachers.

This session will be of particular benefit to those seeking a way to use their yoga practice to relax and ‘tune-in’ at a deeper level. In this session we will explore various breathing techniques, meditation and yoga nidra (guided visualization and deep-relaxation) to bring about a deep experience of connection with the very subtlest layers of our being. especially beneficial to those who have had a strongly Asana focused practice, or those who have stressful lives, and are not familiar with Yoga Nidra. (It is blissful!)
The evening meal will be vegetarian, freshly prepared and delicious.
Flo is a regular contributor to Australian Yoga Life magazine, and writes the regular Yoga Matters segment for Nature and Health magazine. She is currently registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest possible level of teaching experience, ERYT-500, and is also a member of Yoga Australia. Her style is both meditative and enlivening, balancing the active and the passive sides of our nature. As we focus within, developing the capacity to witness ourselves, the sessions themselves become a form of Yoga Therapy, which flows out into our lives beyond the classroom.
These retreats are held at Tallow Beach Houses, which features individual beach-houses, each with two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge room, kitchen and deck. The beach-houses are set in natural bushland just behind the frontal dune system of Tallow Beach, one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches of the region. The yoga room is timber floored, large and light.

He was also head of the kitchen of yoga plus, Europe’s leading yoga retreat center in Crete Greece. Todd uses the best fresh seasonal and organic local ingredients available. As a Byron Bay local for more than 20 years, Flo knows and has exclusive access to some of the very best therapists that Byron has to offer. These therapists are in such high demand that they are usually booked up one or two months in advance. On these retreats you will get the opportunity to access the highest quality of deep tissue and remedial massage, ayurvedic massage and consultations, chakra balancing and energy work and more.
On these retreats you will also have the opportunity to book in with Flo for a mini private yoga session. In these sessions, injuries and other unique individual peculiarities can be addressed. You will receive a home practice that you can continue with at home. These treatments and sessions are available as optional extras for an additional fee.
The nearest airport is in Ballina (25 minutes by car.) From Ballina Airport, a shuttle bus can be arranged that will take you right to Tallow Beach Houses where the retreat takes place.
"In May I was extremely fortunate to attend the Intouch Yoga retreat in Byron Bay. Flo was highly recommended to me by the Yoga Community in Wollongong many of whom have done retreats, workshops and/or training with her. In so many ways the teaching, schedule, food, accommodation and location exceeded my expectations. As our group consisted of people with varying abilities, commitment and understandings I did wonder on the first night how each of our needs were going to be met. However from the first session Flo was amazing as each and everyone was catered for and our goals for the week were achieved. Flo has a gift of being able to understand and connect with her students no matter where they are on their yoga journey. She is an inspiration!Even though I had some reservations about sharing a cabin with a stranger it was never an issue. My fellow yogis all had a shared understanding of the need for privacy and respect (however when we weren't doing classes we did at times do coffee, walks on the beach and shared many laughs together over the week). In fact Bette, Ali and Kathy and I are planning to return next year!I didn't know how I was going to manage 2 to 3 yoga sessions a day but I was pleasantly surprised how achievable it was due to Flo's expert guidance. The teaching, accommodation, coupled with an amazing location was only enhanced by Veet's cooking. Being a lover of great food and not being a vegetarian I was a tad skeptical about what type of food we were going to eat. But alas Veets cooking was some of the best I've ever eaten in fact I not only bought her cookbook but engaged her to do some catering for me!The experience in many ways has been life changing thanks Flo hope to see you again in December."

"I've never felt better! The retreat was wonderful. Flo is a great teacher and I really appreciated her teaching style: firm and organized but patient and full of intent. It was always clear what we were doing and why we were there. I liked how she led us through our practice, calmly and with purpose, whether that was asana or chanting or yoga nidra.Watching Flo show us asanas was also wonderful her practice is just beautiful and it helped me visualize what my body might do one day. Veets food was spectacular really interesting and extremely tasty! I think we all looked forward to what surprises wed find at the next meal. On top of it all, the location on the beach made the retreat even more special. It was great to go for an early morning walk on the beach or sit on our patio and listen to the birds. Ive never felt better."

"I feel more energetic, and with no aches and pains at all! Dear Flo, Just a quick message to thank you once again for the retreat last week, which very much lived up to my expectations. I was particularly impressed by the depth and breadth of your knowledge of yoga, and the excellence of your planning, preparation and presentation of lessons.I expected to be tired and achy by the end of the week, but am pleasantly surprised to feel more energetic and with no aches and pains at all. I'm attributing this partly to the extra time you spent on pranayama and relaxation/meditation compared to other retreats I've attended, but also to the way that you sequence your lessons so that the body is very thoroughly prepared before moving into the stronger asanas. A good lesson for me to bring into my own practice!The food, of course was wonderful, so was the location beside such an unspoiled, uncrowded beach, and the accommodation, I thought, was comfortable and good value for the price.All up, a worthwhile, educative and enjoyable week!
