Villa Roca is a hacienda of Bauhaus design, built by the late Ibizencan architect Erwin Bronner whose own house is now a museum in Ibiza town. The villa features terracotta floors, tiered balconies, and open fireplaces. It has a large living room area and a spacious outside open-plan terrace, where guests dine, relax, and socialize.
This room has large ceiling to floor windows containing french doors opening onto a balcony where you can step off onto the terrace to eat your daily meal. This room is situated at the front of the villa overlooking the garden driveway and the distant road that heads in and out of Benirras. It has large wardrobes for storage and there are two ways of entering this room, from the terrace and from inside the villa.
The yoga classes include a range of different styles like Ashtanga, Yin, Iyengar, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, and Kundalini. All the classes will include various breathing techniques, such as pranayama and ujjayi, and include time for meditation and body awareness. The teachers come from all over the world and are chosen for their experience and teaching ability.
Each teacher has their own individual style; some of them incorporate techniques from other disciplines, such as Tai Chi, dance, meditation, massage, and physiotherapy, so lessons can be incredibly varied. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an intermediate student, the classes will develop your knowledge and give you a deeply satisfying experience and further insight into yoga.
At Ibiza Yoga, there is great importance on individual development and the experienced teachers will ensure that your yoga is practiced safely and relative to your ability. Yoga mats, blocks, and belts will be supplied for the duration of your stay.

Her yoga journey began a long time ago, as her mother is also a yoga teacher. During law school, yoga was her safe haven, the place where she could find some peace after work and study. She loved the dynamic flow of Vinyasa and started meditating every day. After university, she worked as a human resources Manager and started her own employment law company that still exists, but the office jobs didn't make her happy and she felt a deep longing to travel the world and get to learn and understand more about yoga and the yogic lifestyle, more than the physical practice alone.
Hugh specializes in combining the yoga discipline of Ashtanga yoga and the mental discipline of Buddhist Mindfulness meditation. He teaches a broad spectrum of people in a wide range of settings. Whilst he has more than 30 years of experience in both disciplines, he started teaching yoga in 1995 when he was asked to share his practice at a time when there where almost no Ashtanga teachers available and hasn’t stopped since.
Tina attended acting classes and was involved in the acting and film industry. During that time, she became deeply involved on a journey of spiritual detoxing, to discover her own inner happiness. Through her inner desire to find this happiness and renewal of her spirit, she was guided to a practice that comes from her cell's memory, the discovery of her passion, yoga. She is a certified yoga teacher with over 500-hour of training. Her training and techniques are in Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Yin yoga, among others.
This retreat will be held at Villa Roca in Ibiza, Spain. Ibiza Yoga is located on Benirras Beach. Benirras is the only bay on the island to be designated a nature reserve and the world’s most luxurious super-yachts harbour during midsummer. Benirras is in the unspoiled north of the island, an area that is rich in ley lines and with a strong spiritual history. Famous for its wonderful sunsets, the west-facing bay is home to a rock known as "The King of Benirras" which sits majestically in the crystalline waters.
The beach has three typical Spanish restaurants and a snack bar famous for its sandwiches. The strict local planning laws ensure that no unsightly hotels or resorts are built in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Benirras beach has been voted the fourth best beach in Europe by the Sunday Times Travel Supplement and also the best address in Ibiza by The best of Ibiza Magazine.
Villa Roca is among less than a dozen villas in the unspoiled nature harbour. A well-kept secret by the locals, the wide curved beach is of soft sand that gently slopes into the sea. The sheltered natural harbour is a popular anchoring spot for private yachts and motorboats, who often gather there to enjoy the romantic sundown.
Situated 30 meters above sea level and just a three-minute walk to the beach, along a private path, Villa Roca sits in 20 acres of land which is filled with wildflowers, pear, olive, apple, orange, and banana trees. To cap it all, it is nestled among a beautiful pine forest. On clear days, it has almost uninterrupted sunshine from early morning to late afternoon.

The guided tour of the cave takes 45 minutes. Refreshments can be purchased afterward on the platform over looking the Port San Miguel. The stalactites and stalagmites are waiting to be seen. From the first viewpoint, there is a panoramic view over the whole of the bay of Puerto San Miguel, also known as Puerto Balanzat. The Murada island can be seen in the background where a unique prehistoric species of Muradensis lizard lives. After following along a path cut out of the rocks, one reaches the mouth of the cave, at a level of 14 metres above sea level. This is the starting point of the visit. The cave is over 100,000 old and has suffered ice ages and tropical heatwaves. Discovered by smugglers who used it for hiding their goods, hoisting them up from the sea from an opening located 10 meters above sea level. It is still possible to see the red and black paint marks signposting another way out of the cave in case the smugglers had to escape in a hurry. The tour of the cave costs 11 EUR.
A walk to the next bay, named Moon beach takes place each week. The walk starts from Villa Roca, walk 100 metres up the hill along the Calle de Benirras towards the San Juan Road. From here, you start along the uphill path that meanders its way higher and higher. The stunning views along the way are of the valley that Benirras is part of and the hills beyond at the highest point. It is possible to see the centre of the entire island. You will pass an old disused Lime Kiln surrounded by pine trees and shortly after you will be at the top.
The view from the top of the mountain is probably the best to be had of Benirras Bay, Ills des Bosc and the Mediterranean beyond. From the best viewpoint, you start the journey down the other side of the mountain toward your final destination. In view after is Isla den Caldes and some days on the horizon you may see the Ferry that passes from Magalouf to Denia and back daily. The path zig-zags its way almost to the end, where it levels out in a straight line. Moon beach is found via a pathway through a small gulley. A beach that has no houses or no roads to it, just a dirt track makes it available to the few fisherman huts that are built into the rocky hill at sea level next to the sandy shore. It's a small beach but quite a delight. Moon beach is famous for its hippie parties going back to the 1970s.

Please book your flights to Ibiza Airport (IBZ). Ibiza Yoga can put you in contact with an independent taxi service that will collect you from the airport (approximately 45 EUR from airport to the retreat, 25 to 30 minutes). Please send an inquiry for more information.
From the airport, there is a bus direct to Benirras 23 and 23a from Ibiza Town, San Antonio. Check out their website Ibiza Buses. This started in June 2017 and it runs up until September 2017. Ibiza Bus Timetables and Island maps can be found at the Tourist Information Desk, which is situated immediately in front of you when you come out of the arrival gate.
The bus stop where you can get the "L10" bus to Ibiza Town, is situated just outside of the front doors of the airport, to the right of the Tourist Information desk. The cost to Ibiza Town is approximately 3 EUR. The L10 bus will drop you at the Bus station on the Avenguda Isidor Macabich (Ibiza Town).
There are several bus stops running along this stretch of road. From here you can catch a bus to either San Miguel or Port San Miguel (our nearest villages). The bus that runs to San Miguel is the L25 and the one that runs to Port San Miguel is L25a. The bus to San Miguel is much more frequent than the one to the Port. These buses will cost approximately 4 EUR.
On the bus journey, look out for Santa Gertrudis, a small town situated in the middle of the island. During the winter season, the only bus service that runs is the L25. It is a more limited service so please check www.ibizabus.com for times. San Miguel is around 7 minutes from here. You can identify when you are arriving in San Miguel when you can see a beautiful white church on a hilltop, approaching ahead.
To walk from San Miguel will take approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and a taxi will cost around 10 to 12 EUR. Please be aware that the walk follows narrow, windy, steep country roads with little to no footpath. To walk from Port San will take approximately 45 minutes or a taxi will cost around 8 to 10 EUR. Please be aware that this walk also follows narrow, windy, steep countryside roads along a cliff with no pedestrian footpath.
Taxis hired from outside the airport arrivals lounge charge a similar price and more at night. There are also car hire companies at the airport. If you are visiting the retreat in low season, April and October, it might be worth checking out car hire, as the price of car hire for one week can sometimes be cheaper than a return taxi fare.
