Just 3 minute walk to Benniras beach, Ibiza Yoga offers an affordable yoga holiday retreat in a beautiful setting with first class yoga tuition from some dedicated teachers, spacious shaded roof top studio with far reaching valley views, and freshly prepared, wholesome vegetarian meals cooked daily on site. Come and join this life-changing experience!
Villa Roca is a hacienda of Bauhaus design, built by the late Ibizencan architect Erwin Bronner, whose own house is now a museum in Ibiza Town. The villa features terracotta floors, tiered balconies and open fire places. It has a large living room area, and a spacious outside open plan terrace, where guests dine, relax and socialize.
The villa is situated 30 meters above sea level, and a 3-minute 180-meter walk to the beach, along a private path. Villa Roca sits in 20 acres of land which is filled with wild flowers, pear, olive, apple, orange and banana trees. To cap it all, it is nestled amongst a beautiful pine forest. On clear days, it has almost uninterrupted sunshine from early morning to late afternoon. With five large bedrooms, two of which have balconies, and one with its own door leading to the garden.
Rooms:
If you want to feel closer to nature, why not try one of our delightful pagodas , in the garden of Villa Roca. It has easy access to the yoga deck and its facilities include a really refreshing, powerful shower. By day, you can surround yourself with the sounds of countless birds, including robins, hawks, swifts, sparrows, and gulls, and feel the sea air fill and clean your lungs.
At night you can send yourself to sleep listening to the gentle sound of nature and the sweet scent of pine trees. If you live in a town or city, you will be taken aback by its silence, save the calming sounds of crickets and feel of the breeze. On moonlit nights you can see the shimmering trees and fauna cast their shadows in what can only be described as magical.
On clear summer nights, you will recognize the many constellations, with the Milky Way spread across the sky like magic dust, and if you are really lucky, you can see shooting stars. After a night or two, you will forget all about the traffic, noise and pollution of the big city and almost imagine you are back in time, when people lived simply, spending their lives amongst nature.
Benirras is a valley and both the Tipis are in the base of the valley at sea and road level . There are people walking along the road , cars driving along it. The garden gate is the access point for the guests of the main villa and the Casita to use . Noise travels very well at night. Guests sit on the balcony of the villa or the outside area of the Casita voices are heard as they chat and sometimes strum a guitar. August and September the whole area of Benirras is a busy place. Quiet from 1am to 8am is usual but outside these hours its a buzzing laid back vibe. We try to explain it the way it is so there are no disappointments.
The WiFi only works in the Villa, on the terrace and in Pagoda 2 and 3. Drop down lockable shutters block the sunlight and give extra privacy in all pagodas. One hot water outdoor shower and one cold outdoor shower two sinks and a toilet service the entire pagoda garden. Towels are not supplied but can be ordered at when booking at check out. We suggest that you bring one pair of walking shoes / trainers for walking along the paths but not necessary for Pagoda 2 or 3. Pathways are partially lit by solar lights, please bring a torch. There are two lockable draws underneath each pagoda , we hire out padlocks for free but ask for deposit. The villa is only available for tea/coffee making and internet during the hours of 8am to 10pm. All meals are served on the terrace of Villa Roca. If you are travelling alone and we do not find you a 'pagoda room-mate' you will have the pagoda to yourself. Beds are made with fresh bed linen and pagodas are cleaned on Saturdays only leaving week-day bed making for the guests to do. Only the outdoor shower block and communal area is cleaned each day.
Rooms:
Villa Roca and the Pagoda Garden are closed between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm on a Saturday. It is possible to be on site early or leave late but for this we make a charge. The reason we need the property empty for those hours is to clean it throughout ready for the arrival of the incoming guests.
Please note that between the months of November and April the central heating is switched on from 7.30am to 10am and 5pm until 11pm daily. We do not supply electric heaters outside of these hours as they overload and trip our electrical system.
Special note
For our September and October retreats the yoga is not held on the Villa Roca’s yoga deck, we will have yoga on the beach, on the roof of Villa Nova, and in the garden in our beautiful dome vent tent.
Yoga classes last two hours, and are for beginners and intermediates alike. They include a range of different styles, including Ashtanga. Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini, and Iyengar without the props.
Most classes include breathing techniques such as Pranayama and Ujjayi and meditation may be included in some of the teachers' classes.
The yoga teachers come from all over the world and are chosen for their experience and teaching ability. Each has its own individual style; some of them incorporate techniques from other disciplines, such as Tai Chi, dance, meditation, massage, and physiotherapy, so lessons can be incredibly varied.
Whether you are an absolute beginner or an intermediate student, our classes will develop your knowledge and give you a deeply satisfying experience and further insight into yoga.
At Ibiza Yoga, we place great importance on individual development, and our experienced teachers will ensure that your yoga is practiced safely and relative to your ability.
Yoga mats, blocks, and belts are provided for the duration of your stay.
Sample Schedule for the summer during the month of May. In June, the hours change slightly(afternoon classes starting times are 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and day hours starting time is 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Please note that the yoga course is Sunday to Friday, but your holiday is Saturday to Saturday. There will be no yoga classes on Saturdays.
Please note that the winter retreats run 1.5-hour yoga sessions and are held on the rooftop yoga deck, Villa Roca terrace, or fireside in Villa Nova weather dependent.
Weekly walk to Moon Beach
A walk to the next bay, named Moon beach takes places each week. The walk starts from Villa Roca , walk 100 metres up the hill along the Callle de Benirras towards the San Juan Road . From here we start along the uphill path that meanders its way higher and higher . The stunning views along the way are of the valley that Benirras is part of and the hills beyond at highest point it is possible to see the centre of the entire island. We pass an old disused Lime Kiln surrounded by pine trees and shortly after we are at the top.
The view from the top of the mountain is probably the best to be had of Benirras Bay, Ills des Bosc and the Mediterranean beyond. From the best view point , we start the journey down the other side of the mountain toward our final destination. In view now is Isla den Caldes and some days on the horizon you may see the Ferry that passes from Magalouf to Denia and back daily. The path zig-zags its way almost to the end , where it levels out in a straight line. Moon beach is found via a pathway through a small gulley. A beach that has no houses or no roads to it , just a dirt track makes it available to the few fisherman huts that are built into the rocky hill at sea level next to the sandy shore. Its a small beach but quite a delight. Moon beach is famous for its hippie parties going back to the 1970's.
Rena is passionate about the health benefits that yoga has brought to her life, on and off the mat. Having been trained with a background in performance, movement, and dance, she always enjoyed the physical and viewed the body as a wonderful tool for expression. Dabbling in various styles of yoga over the last 10 years from Bikram to Ashtanga, it was only when she discovered Vinyasa Flow whilst in Thailand that she immediately was drawn to the creative sequencing and sense of grounding and inner peace it gave her. That is when she made the life-changing decision to train as a yoga teacher.
British born Elizabeth discovered yoga 17 years ago coming from a dance performance background. She found the practice of yoga extremely healing, nourishing, and supportive. Elizabeth has been practicing yoga for 17 years, teaching for 12 years, and for the past seven years teaching around Europe and South East Asia. She teaches dynamic Vinyasa yoga asana and Yin yoga and likes to help individuals carve their own paths and be able to express and open up their own unique joy within, through asana and practice.
Tina attended acting classes and was involved in the acting and film industry. During that time, she became deeply involved on a journey of spiritual detoxing, to discover her own inner happiness. Through her inner desire to find this happiness & renewal of her spirit, she was guided to a practice that comes from her cells memory, the discovery of her passion, yoga. She is registered and recognized by the U.S. Yoga Alliance with over 500RYT. Her training and techniques are in Hatha, Vinyasa flow, Ashtanga,Yin yoga, among others.
Ibiza Yoga is beautifully located just 4 minutes from The beach is a 4 minute walk from Benirras Beach. One of the most famous beaches on the island, steeped in beach history, home to the worlds most luxurious super-yachts that come and go the occupants of which frequents the beach restaurants, Benirras is the only bay on the island to be designated a nature reserve therefore not a single hotel in site.
Benirras is in the unspoilt north of the island, an area rich in ley lines and with a strong spiritual history. Famous for its wonderful sunsets, the west facing bay is home to a rock known as 'The King of Benirras' which sits majestically in the crystalline waters. The beach has three typical Spanish restaurants and an ice cream and juice bar.
Although no longer in existence as such, the August full-moon beach festival lives on in a smaller version each Sunday evening. One of the main attractions and coming from far afield are the drummers and guitarists who give an 'unplugged' concert: their volume builds up into a crescendo as the sun sets. Dancers, fire-eaters, sand-sculptures and craft stands enliven this weekly gathering.
The strict local planning laws ensure that no unsightly hotels or resorts are built in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Villa Roca and the Pagoda Garden and the owners Villa Nova are among the less than a dozen villas in this unspolit nature harbour.
A well kept secret by the locals, the wide curved beach is of soft sand that gently slopes into the sea. The sheltered natural harbour is a popular anchoring spot for private yachts and motor boats, who often gather there to enjoy the romantic sundown.Good for snorkellers. Size: 160 metres long, 40 metres wide. Naked bathing to one side of the beach.
Benirras beach has been voted 'the 4th best beach in Europe' by the Sunday Times Travel Supplement and the best address in Ibiza by The best of Ibiza Magazine.
During the winter months the 3 restaurants are closed and the beach is quieter.
The famous drumming still takes place every sunday however on a smaller scale and instead of beach activities there are some amazing hikes to go on in the local area instead.
Benirras and Ibiza is a lot quieter and relaxing during the winter months.

From the first viewpoint, there is a panoramic view over the whole of the bay of the Puerto San Miguel , also know as Puerto Balanzat . The Murada island can be seen in the back ground where a unique prehistoric species of Muradensis lizard lives. After following along a path cut out of the rocks, one reaches the mouth of the cave , at a level of 14 metres above sea level . This is the starting point of the visit. The cave is over 100,000 old and has suffered ice ages and tropical heat waves. Discovered by smugglers who used it for hiding their goods, hoisting them up from the sea from an opening located 10 metres above sea level . It is still possible to see the red and black paint marks signposting another way out of the cave in case the smugglers had to escape in a hurry. The tour of the cave costs 11 EUR

Ibiza Airport

Transfer available for additional US$54 per person
Please book your flights to Ibiza Airport (IBZ). Ibiza Yoga can put you in contact with an independent taxi service that will collect you from the airport (approximately 45 EUR from airport to the retreat, 25- 30 minute). Please send an inquiry for more information. Taxis hired from outside the airport arrivals lounge charge a similar price and more at night. There are also car hire companies at the airport. If you are visiting the retreat in low season, April and October, it might be worth checking out car hire, as the price of car hire for one week can sometimes be cheaper than a return taxi fare.
From the airport there is a bus direct to Benirras 23 and 23a from Ibiza Town, San Antonio. Check out their website Ibiza Buses. This started in June 2017 and it runs up until September 2017. Ibiza Bus Timetables and Island maps can be found at the Tourist Information Desk, that is situated immediately in front of you when you come out of the arrival gate. The bus stop where you can get the "L10" bus to Ibiza Town, is situated just outside of the front doors of the airport, to the right of the Tourist Information desk. Cost to Ibiza Town is approximately 3 EUR. The L10 bus will drop you at the Bus station on the Avenguda Isidor Macabich (Ibiza Town). There are several bustops running along this strech of road. From here you can catch a bus to either San Miguel or Port San Miguel (our nearest villages). The bus that runs to San Miguel is the L25 and the one that runs to Port San Miguel is L25a. The bust to San Miguel is much more frequent than the one to the Port. These buses will cost approx 4 euros. During the winter season the only bus service that runs is the L25. It is a more limited service so please check www.ibizabus.com for times.
On the bus journey, look out for Santa Gertrudis, a small town situated in the middle of the island. San Miguel is around 7 minutes from here. You can identify when you are arriving in San Miguel when you can see a beautiful white church on a hilltop, approaching ahead. To walk from San Miguel will take approx 1 hour 20 minutes and a taxi will cost around 10-12 euros. Please be aware that the walk follows narrow, windy, steep country roads with little to no footpath. To walk from Port San will take approx 45 minutes or a taxi will cost around 8-10 euros. Please be aware that this walk also follows narrow, windy, steep countryside roads along a cliff with no pedestrian footpath.
