I Yoga invites you to a yoga retreat at Summerleaze, which is a mile outside East Knoyle deep in the Wiltshire countryside. The house is situated on an organic farm and is blissfully quiet. A large barn has been converted into a gallery, which is a perfect space for doing yoga.

The retreat will be held on Summerleaze Farm. An organic farm a mile outside the village of East Knoyle. On site are two large houses with plenty of rooms to accommodate guests. There are both single and double rooms available.

The program is designed for a gentle, healing, and spiritual practice. This program will allow you to learn how to guide and enrich your life according to higher principles. Although this method of practicing yoga has deep and far-reaching results, it is still very practical and accessible.

The retreat consists of six days of yoga (Sunday to Friday morning) but you are welcome to arrive on Saturday 23 September at 6 p.m. and leave during the day on Friday 29 September.

Daily schedule

  • 07:00 Wake up to a hot water and lemon drink
  • 07:30 Yoga session - starting slowly to warm up the body, then building up to a good workout
  • 09:15 Organic, vegetarian, wholesome and consciously prepared breakfast
  • 10:15 Each day a different activity will be on offer (walking, swimming, tennis, small excursion to beautiful places) - or you can have time for yourself
  • 15:00 Regroup from activities for the second meal of the day
  • 16:00 Spending time together preparing meals for the next day and learning about food preparation, bread making, and the qualities of the different foods
  • 18:00 Yoga session, concentrated practice to end the day and prepare for a good sleep
  • 20:00 Taste a sweet food (non-sugary) snack and tea to aid a good sleep

    Emily has been practicing yoga since she was 18. She was attracted to yoga because it is both practical and deep. She has practiced many different styles and approaches including Sivananda, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa among others. The yoga that she teaches now has been developed spiritual teacher Heinz Grill. What she found in this approach to yoga was practical and clear steps as to how we can learn to develop a connection with our higher selves both in our yoga practice and in life.

The retreat location is at Summerleaze a truly idilic organic farm just outside East Knoyle. It is conveniently located near the A303 yet very quiet and unspoilt. It the perfect place to unwind and get away from the stresses of everyday life.

Two wholesome vegetarian meals and a snack in the evening will be provided. All food will be consciously chosen to suit the needs of those attending the retreat.

In you free time, you are all free to go for walking, swimming, playing tennis, or having another small excursion to beautiful places in the surrounding area. There will be the possibility to book a massage during the week, at an additional price.

Arrival by airplane

Convenient airports to arrive at are Heathrow Airport (LHR), Southampton Airport (SOU), or Bristol Airport (BRS). If a number of people traveling together, you can be met at the airport on September 23rd.

Arrival by train

The nearest train station is Tisbury Station which is on the main London - Exeter line with connections from Salisbury. There is a train from London that leaves Waterloo at 16:20 and arrives in Tisbury at 18:06. Or there is a train from Exeter that gets to Tisbury at 18:01. If you could plan your journey to arrive on either of these trains it would be much appreciated. If for some reason your train gets in at another time it is no problem you can be easily be met from the station.

    Beautiful and Relaxing Retreat in the Country

    PROS Pros: The location was wonderful, there was lots of opportunity to explore the immediate area around the house (countryside) or to venture to nearby historical places. The yoga was very informative and precise which I appreciated. The host, Emily, was very giving and communicative. A wonderful retreat!

    PROS Pros: Yoga, food eexceptionally good except for evening meal. Don't know about theory for more sweetness in evening . fortunately there were alternatives

    Summerleaze - the perfect place to loose and find yourself

    CONS Cons: A few horseflies / but that's the countryside

    PROS Pros: Summerleaze was the perfect retreat to immerse and indulge yourself in the peace of the idyllic gentle countryside of Wiltshire. Providing the connection with nature and oneself through the practise of yoga and eating healthy organic meals freshly picked from the garden. Surrounded by flowers and birds and slowly getting into the rhythm of country living and enjoying the simple pleasures that nature had to offer. Emily was a wonderful teacher who taught us to practise yoga on a deeper level and postures reached in a clear, gentle step by step approach- we all improved our practice and achieved more than we thought we ever could. The art gallery was the perfect place to do yoga in the morning, however, yoga on the lawn in the evening was sublime. I loved that we could go out and about visiting local areas of interest- Stonehenge, Avebury, Shaftesbury and Stourhead house and gardens, but also the gorgeous walks just on the doorstep! The accommodation was very welcoming with numerous artworks everywhere and fantastic views.

    "I joined "I Yoga" retreat in July as my first Yoga Retreat. This has been probably best time I had in couple of years and best use of my time and money. Emily (Yoga Teacher) is an amazing person, very calm and open minded. Location is absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the hospitality. The food was great . She took care of each and every ingredients. Every ingredient was either top quality Organic or home grown perfection. We used home grown vegetables, herbs. Yoga was so relaxing and healing. I was not looking for a school where we do Yoga all the time. I wanted a peaceful location, great company, great food and healing yoga and I am so happy that I made a perfect choice joining I Yoga. I am looking forward to go again."
