The yoga retreat is located in Basina, a beautiful bay situated in between Stari Grad and Jelsa, looking towards island Brac, which makes it ideal for island tours and boat trips. There are many secluded beaches in Basina and nearby bays, so you can explore and enjoy your privacy.

Maya house is a three-store house with 3 apartments, 2 terraces, 3 bathrooms and a rooftop. The house has a sea view and the sea is only seconds away. Additional accommodation is offered in a neighboring house, few meters from Maya house.

Practice of yoga twice daily to balance the body and mind. Fresh, delicious meals will be prepared by local chef. All food is vegetarian and optionally vegan as well. Balance of activity and rest is emphasized so you can make the most of your time spent on this retreat. With new insights into the wisdom of yoga, gain a deeper understanding of this ancient science.

    Yoga

The yoga approach integrates elements from the different paths of yoga, especially Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga, uniting the body, mind and breath in awareness. It is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. Morning sessions will be longer and more intense and will be based on Ashtanga yoga. Evening yoga sessions will be more calming and restorative with more emphasis on relaxation and meditation. Wisdom of yoga will be discussed in and out the yoga classes and as per group’s preference and will include Patanjali Yoga Sutras and more.

    Evenings

Unless visiting a nearby town, evening times are reserved for experience sharing or just silently reflecting on the day and resting. The peaceful atmosphere and low light pollution contributes to the clear sky ideal for stargazing - weather permitting.

    In-between time

The house is located nearby the sea. The place is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, beach walks, exploring the nature etc.

The island of Hvar is the queen of the Croatian Dalmatian islands. Hvar is proud that it has the most sunny hours of all the islands in the Adriatic Sea. The vast fields of lavender, gorgeous beaches with tiny inlets and secluded coves, ancient olive trees and lush vineyards create immaculate harmony between man and nature. "The Traveller" has given the island of Hvar a title of being one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.

You will be offered three healthy vegetarian meals per day. Breakfasts will consist of porridge, fruits, milk, bread, butter, cheese, jam.

Lunch and dinner will be tasty and balanced meals prepared by our local chef.

Herbal teas will be offered in the morning, before yoga sessions. Smoking and drinking alcohol is not permitted on the retreat premises.

"Hvar Yoga Retreats is my first yoga retreat. I am not a yoga pro but I felt very comfortable with their classes, they accommodated beginner and advanced moves. I am not a vegetarian and I was worried but to my surprise the food was delicious. They also always left so much fruit for us to snack on. The accommodations were lovely. The house is full light and the people in it make it warm and welcoming. Plakor is a hilarious character with immense patience with me. Etka is truly an incredible soul, her aura is calming and nurturing. She would sing to us at the end of morning yoga and it was so lovely it would put me to sleep :) We went to nearby beaches and to nearby towns and I have to admit this is one of my favorite trips ever went on. I also made some good friends while I was there. I will definitely be back. "

"I have been to Croatia numerous times and one of my favorite ever memories of beautiful Hvar has got to be doing yoga with Ekta & Plakor, as well as meditations. They are such genuine, motivated, patient and inspirational people that I have taken their teachings and I practice daily. Yoga changes one's life, health as well as a positive outlook on life and Plakor's playfulness & Ekta's attentivness are proof. Such calm, patient yet passionate devotees to what they teach, the time they dedicate to their students goes beyond the time spent doing postures & breathing techniques. It's an actual reminder of what a life lived true to oneself feels like. I cannot thank them enough for this gift of serenity. "

"The physical and spiritual dimensions of yoga always attracted me, but at the same time I was refused by the ethereal new-age world that usually goes with it. I could not decide to take the first step and go through a serious, quality program, until I met Plakor. Being honest, straightforward and authentic (virtues which are rare in this world full of people who try to be someone else) - he intrigued me to move. I never regretted it, in fact, I plan now to visit him in India and join his retreats."

"Me and my boyfriend had a great time in Hvar. Plakor and Ekta are amazing people full of love and made us all feel like one big family. This was my first yoga retreat and I can say that I didn't have any problem following their yoga sessions. It was my pleasure learning from Ekta who is authentic yoga teacher and her voice is just perfect for relaxing and meditating. Plakor was amazing not only in yoga sessions but also when it comes to organising everything, taking us around Hvar and Brač for sightseeing and simply enjoying some of the nicest beaches in Croatia. Location is also just perfect, you wake up and the first thing that you see is the beautiful Croatian sea. What else could you ask for?"

"First, a big thank you! After almost a week of feeling the bliss that is called yoga we're sitting on a bench and think of what we have experienced and learned. That's actually quite a lot. Gently guided by both the instructors we went from very easy and simple yoga postures to still very easy but not quite as simple postures. It's just as hard as you want it to be. Furthermore there was plenty of meditation. We both found that pretty challenging, since we're both blessed with an agile mind. BUT after the first class already we felt an astounding difference. It was almost upsetting how big the difference was. So based on this we can say that this cute ‘yoga couple’ of instructors knows how to get the feeling across in a nice and helpful way.And never forget: “breath out completely” :)"

"Our hosts, Ekta And Plakor took such good care of us, they were very sweet, attending to all needs And wishes. I enjoyed practicing yoga with Ekta in the morning. Although I am a Sri Sri Yoga teacher, we practiced a different set of postures, which I did Not Know so It was interesting to learn them. Also practicing yoga on the Terrace in front of the sea was amazing, it was the ideal place! About the excursions: what to say! Perfect, beautiful beaches, I really liked having some Time sun bathing, And swimming in the sea, this was the main reason that I came to Croatia. The food was very good. I would also like to add that I was amazed And inspired by the way Plakor could always answer the questions of the participants of the retreat, whatever the topic, with such Wisdom And knowledge! "

"I went in one week yoga retreat to the island of Hvar in Croatia at Plakor and Ekta. This is a beautiful place Basina Bay and a very good selection of yoga teachers (Plakor and Ekta). During this retreat I did yoga every day and it made me a lot of good, I needed it because I was pretty stressed by my work, urban lifestyle and I could focus on myself -even during this period. During this retreat I meditated. This helps to stop, not to be in this constant race that moved the body into a frenzy against nature and alters cellular memory. It also gives access to sensations / forgotten feelings and, thereby, changing the chemistry of the body. The most beautiful trips is that in itself does. Looking after his body - including his intestine, which is our first brain - it opens incredible opportunities. I also wanted to emphasize the wonderful welcome we had from Plakor and Ekta. I have one thing to say is that I recommend yoga retreat in Plakor and Ekta, you will not regret the trip. Croatia (and the island of Hvar in particular) is a beautiful country. Go there, you will not regret it!"

"I have had an amazing and relaxing holiday at the Hvar yoga retreat hosted by Ekta and Plakor. Hvar Island is truly beautiful and the retreat itself is located in a wonderful, peaceful bay away from touristic spots and seconds from the pristine sea. From the minute I arrived, I have experienced a feeling of peace and mindfulness which only increased as the days went by. Ekta and Plakor are truly wonderful humans and their yoga class are calm yet soothing & energizing, enriched with breathing techniques and meditations which I have added to my daily routine. They took really great care of us, taking us out and about visiting nearby amazing beaches and villages , adapting their schedule to our needs, as well as feeding us fresh and tasty vegetarian meals every day. I have also made some new amazing friends and hope to see everyone again in the future. I recommend this retreat to any solo or group traveler looking for an enlightening and relaxing break in beautiful Croatia."
