Intensive Yoga retreat in Beaujolais

This life-changing journey will purify you at the physical, psychological and mental levels. You will experience a beautiful transformation and savor in the joy of living with an open Heart. Over the course of eight days, you will participate in Hatha Yoga sessions, practice meditation, and purification techniques, while also immersing yourself in traditional spiritual principles and visions from classical yoga including the Non-Dual tradition of Advaita Vedanta.

You will also experience living in a community dedicated to living with an open heart and have the opportunity to participate in weekly events such as Bhajans (devotional singing).

Note: this yoga course is accessible either in Week 1&2 with the second week building upon the previous week's teachings. You can choose to participate in either week but preferably you would start with Week 1. Weeks 1&2 are part of a whole 3-week module - please see our different listing (22 days Traditional Non-Dual Hatha Yoga Immersion) where we offer a 30% discount on the tuition price. Week 3 is not accessible on a weekly basis.

Please see below under Programs for the week 1-2 dates.

This is a holistic course that creates the conditions for the revelation of your real nature, the spiritual heart. It is a life-changing journey in which important yoga topics are introduced in both a practical and theoretical way.

The practice of Hatha Yoga provides an intimate inner knowledge of the physical body, bio-energies, and chakras (energy centers), as well as of your ultimate nature. A contemplative attitude and an awareness of the Spiritual Heart is an important part of the practice.

In this immersive retreat, a typical day of practice includes:

  • 1 hour of meditation (optional)
  • 4 hours of Hatha Yoga practice (Asana and Pranayama)
  • 2-hour lecture
  • Mini-lectures on purification techniques and meditation practices

You will learn about:

  • Hridaya Hatha Yoga principles and the stages of performing an asana
  • Both the practice and the symbolic significance of asanas, yogic techniques, and warm-up exercises
  • The yogic system of chakras
  • Nadis (subtle energy channels), the subtle bodies, and the polarity of energy
  • Ramana Maharshi‘s Self-Inquiry meditation
  • The infinite power of the spiritual heart
  • Yogic purification techniques
  • Cultivating proper attitudes for a life lived from the heart
  • Pranayama - the control of the energies through the breath
  • Simple concentration and meditation techniques
