What will your daily routine look like:

90 or 60-minute Hot yoga class

During this training, you will start and end your day with yoga. You will be joining a scheduled group class at 8 a.m. for an express class and an evening 90-minute Hot yoga class.

A light breakfast will be available at the studio after the morning class before commencing with the day's lectures.

Lectures on anatomy, yoga philosophy, breathing techniques, and yoga business.

These informative lectures will be spread throughout the three weeks with guest lecturers joining you in some of the sessions to discuss the respective topics thoroughly.

Posture clinic

During posture clinic, you will be discussing each posture found in the Hot yoga set sequence; learning the Sanskrit name, adjustments, benefits, limitations , and what variations to offer for each poses depending on the individual’s needs.

Teaching practice

Be prepared to teach in your first week! As you might have realized by now, to feel confident in any skill, one needs to practice, practice, and practice - and that is what you will be doing during these three weeks.

You will, therefore, be required to learn the sequence leading up to the warm-up (approximately the first 20 minutes of the set sequence) and be prepared to teach it in your first week.

A dialogue will be provided to assist you with your cuing, however, it is not mandatory to use. Instead, feel free to use your own voice to lead your students during your class.

What is required

  • Prepare your functional anatomy

Before the start of the course, your functional anatomy notes will be sent to you so as to read through it. Come prepared for the course so as to make the most out of each session.

Successfully teach the Hot yoga set sequence

In week three, you will be assigned a 60-minute Hot yoga group class (HotYoga Express) to teach to a group of students. There is no pass or fail, just the experience of being able to share your passion with a group of like-minded people.

  • Written exam

Your written exam at the end of the course will be an open book test where you will be able to recap the course material and discuss any ideas on how to teach a safe and successful yoga class.

Be prepared for anything when teaching

Once you step into a yoga room as a teacher, you are responsible for the safety of each individual. This is why HotYogaMalta has added a CPR session during this teacher training to provide you with the basic skills to assist in case of a sudden case of illness.

Sample daily schedule

  • 08:00 60-minute Hot yoga express class
  • 10:00 Light breakfast
  • 11:00 Posture clinic (two hours) or teaching practice on Saturdays (three hours)

Retreat location

Malta is the largest island and the cultural, commercial and administrative centre. Here you can span the millennia with an astonishing array of things to discover. And wherever you go, the scenery and architecture provide a spectacular backdrop. The colours are striking, honey-coloured stone against the deepest of Mediterranean blues.

Malta has been described as one big open-air museum. What makes it unique is that so much of the past is visible today. Delve into the island's mysterious prehistory, retrace the footsteps of St. Paul or see where the Knights of St. John fought their most famous battles.Malta is holidaying as the mood takes you. And with near year-round sun, you can indulge in outdoor living at its best.

In just a kilometre or two, you can try a new sport, laze on an island cruise and tour the most important historic sites, and still have time to join in the nightlife. That's the real advantage of a stay here.

The island offers plenty of specialist holidays for those seeking to brush up their English, learn a new skill, discover history or get fit. If you're interested in sports, there's enough on offer to satisfy the seasoned enthusiast as well as the casual first-timer. Malta has wellness and spa facilities at the luxury hotels and club resorts. Sea and land lend themselves to activities from rock-climbing to gentle rambling.

And, if this were not enough, there are the other two islands - Gozo and Comino -which can be a pleasant change-of-scene during your stay on the mainland or alternative destinations in themselves. The choice is yours...
