Join this holiday for one preparation workshop, two yoga classes a day, full board meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), daytime walks, and a silent meditation walk through the forest on one enchanted evening. Bring your bike or borrow one for a cycle around Loch Rannoch, taking in the beautiful scenery as you go. To the east, there is Pitlochry and Schiehallion and to the west, there is Glen Coe and the train from Rannoch Station will take you to Fort William.

You will be staying at HotintheHighlands home, located amongst the ancient Black Wood of Rannoch, where the last wolf and last rogue of Scotland resided! They have accommodation for six (sharing twin rooms), unless you want single occupancy.

There are two further rooms next door at the local B&B (single or shared occupancy).

All guests can use the entire house, kitted out with books, games, TV, a very cozy and comfy lounge, dining kitchen, and two bathrooms with showers. There is a comfy reading area and a small conservatory, with a telescope for star gazing.

Program

To begin, HotintheHighlands will offer you a preparation workshop, so that you can gain the full benefit of the yoga sessions to follow. You can join at any level of yoga practice. In between yoga sessions, you can chill at home or enjoy the scenic local surroundings by walking or cycling.

Tanya, your Bikram yoga certified teacher will guide you through your practice. HotintheHighlands also invites guest teachers to share this wonderful practice with you. Hot yoga is a great way to challenge and improve your mind and body. If you gift yourself a yoga holiday with them, you will be invigorated, yet de-stressed as you work through one or two yoga sessions per day.

On your first day, a posture workshop will be held so that you can gain the most from your yoga holiday. They can offer bespoke holidays to suit your requirements, whether it is a short weekend break, detox, fitness, or you just want to try yoga for the first time. They also offer Tai Chi, reflexology, and hypnotherapy. This is a workout that you will never forget. Your goal: to feel magical!

The yoga

You will be guided through a sequence of Bikram yoga postures in a room heated to between 36 and 42 degrees, allowing your muscles to be warmed up and more flexible. The sequence allows the compressing and stretching of your muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons.

Rejuvenate yourself, your organs, nerves, and glands as you breathe freshly oxygenated blood throughout your body. You will receive two classes per full day and in between classes, your time is your own, or they may arrange an optional activity for you.

Expect to remain in the room for 90 minutes. Expect to sweat! Your only obligation is to be yourself. Expect to be given instructions and prepare yourself to receive!

Arrival day

  • Arrive any time after 2:00 p.m.
  • Settle into your cozy bedroom, familiarize yourself with the beautiful surroundings
  • 1 Hot yoga workshop to familiarize yourself with the practice
  • Hearty vegetarian meal and get to know the other guests

Daily

  • Wake up to morning smoothies
  • 09:00 - 10:30 One 90-minute Hot yoga class
  • You will be provided with a delicious brunch
  • The rest of the day is your own (have a forest walk, cycle, read, and relax or sit and meditate by the loch!)
  • During the day you can nourish yourself with some delicious homemade soup
  • 17:30 - 19:00 One 90-minute Hot yoga class
  • 19:30 Dinner will be served

During your stay, join a torch-light walk in the magical forest surroundings. Weather permitting, there is a heated outside area for a barbecue and fire pit. Cozy blankets will be provided.

Departure day

  • Morning smoothies
  • 09:00 - 10:30 Hot yoga class followed by brunch then you are off home, feeling fabulous!

Included excursions

An optional daytime walk into the forest will be offered, along with a moonlit walk in one evening.

Retreat location

This yoga retreat will be located at Dall, Kinloch Rannoch, within the beautiful Black Woods of Rannoch, surrounded by ancient woods, lochs, rivers, and abundant wildlife. To the northeast, there is Pitlochry, Loch Tummel, and Aberfeldy. To the northwest, there is Rannoch Station, Glen Coe, and Fort William at a train ride away.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

If you arrive at Edinburgh Airport, get the tram to Haymarket Station and then a train to Blair Atholl, where you can be picked up. Please provide advance notice of this requirement.

If you arrive at Glasgow Airport, get the train to Rannoch Station and we can pick you up from there. Again advance notice required.

Arrival by bus

  • If you get a train to Pitlochry, there is a limited bus service to Kinloch Rannoch village where we can pick you up. Advance notice please.

Arrival by train

  • HotintheHighlands can pick you up at Blair Atholl Station or Rannoch Station, please request this in advance.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 28 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 7 days before arrival.
