Journey with Lisa Mills, deaf yoga teacher RYT-500-hrs, to Mysore, one of South India’s most famous tourist destinations. Learn or deepen your yoga practice in a city that attracts visitors worldwide with its reputation as one of India's best places to practice yoga. Immerse yourself in the ancient teachings of Ayurveda and discover ways to improve your health and well-being.
For this retreat, you can choose between a single standard room (non-airconditioned) and a twin share room (air-conditioned). The twin share room is for two persons only. Either bring a participating friend or partner to share the room with or a second person will be assigned for room sharing. If room sharing does not appeal to you, the standard single accommodation is perfect for you.
This yoga retreat is for deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people. The retreat will be taught in spoken English and Auslan. Upon arrival, you will receive a free Ayurvedic consultation to find out what your dosha (body type) is. There will be two yoga classes each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon or evening.
The yoga theme will include various yoga postures to balance all the doshas and look at lengthening and strengthening specific areas of the body, as well as some modified Ashtanga yoga. Aside from the classes, you can explore Mysore and other nearby places during the half-day group tours. Transport will be provided.
Lisa is a former international theater director and actor. After working as a deaf actor with the Australian Theatre of the Deaf Company, Lisa progressed to become an established international theater director and workshop leader for deaf and hearing youth between 2000 and 2006. Lisa also worked for Arts Council England as a deaf arts consultant, which involved increasing awareness of deaf issues and promoting the work of deaf artists to regularly funded mainstream arts venues.
The retreat will take place in Mysore, South India.

This can be redeemed as cash to use as you like, such as for train fares and extra day tours, or it can be pooled in with two other guests for return airport transfers provided by the retreat center.
