MiraMar is the new home for the week. They have big, charming rooms, all with amazing patio views of the bay. Located right near downtown, you are close to town, restaurants, beach, river, and more. The hotel has Wi-Fi. Included are two meals each day, which gives you the freedom to explore the town for some delicious local foods
Overlooking the bay, accompanied by the birds. You will generally do sunrise and sunset yoga, and various profound teachings, meditations, processes, and workshops.
The theme this year is balancing inner healing (spiritual healing and healing emotional trauma) with taking care of your body (hiking, yoga, swimming, sunning, etc.). Holman Health will also offer various simple but profound tools and assistance for healing emotional wounds. This will be about their 20th year in Yelapa, and it is always deeply healing simply being in sunshine, water, community, eating great food, stretching, meditating, and more.
Sunrise meditation, then seaside patio yoga, then breakfast. Then you will either have an activity (playshop, hike, island or beach visit), or just leisure time to stroll in town or visit the beach for swimming, sunning, eating lunch, etc. Then sometimes a second yoga class before sunset.
Then dinner, usually at the hotel, but a couple of times, you will go out to sample some of the excellent local restaurants. You will also offer a couple of playshops and healings. They will take you on a barefoot “reflexology river roam”. It also includes a short boat trip to a beautiful little cove with good snorkeling. And guide you on a nice long hike up the river valley and swim at a waterfall.
You will have plenty of activities scheduled, yet keeping things as flexible and open as possible to allow people to create their own experience, with free time to relax, swim or snorkel every day, roam the village, hike the river valley, play in waterfalls, sip from coconuts, or drink fresh fruit juices on the beach.
Note: Everything is optional, but you are encouraged to attend as many of the yoga and oneness classes to help create a sacred energy for the group.
Excursion included in the price
Roy has taught since 2000 and is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. He teaches safe, gentle, body-friendly, grounded, breath-connected, prayerful, flowing, and traditional Hatha yoga. He also teaches breathwork (pranayama) and meditation and incorporates the aspects of emotional healing and balancing. Roy is less focused on Hindu gods and more interested in aligning with the Divine (God), and clearing the body temple for the Holy Spirit.
Liz Gross is a certified energy therapist, a vibrational medicine practitioner, and a biopulsar reflexograph analyst. She is a graduate of EarthWalk Institute of Healing Arts in Bellevue, Washington. Liz is a gifted sound and vibration healer and teaches with Roy on retreats. Liz teaches yoga, meditation, oneness, and often does some of the cooking on the retreats. She feels very passionate about vibrational medicine and loves working with others in that way. Here newest tool is NeurOptimal, an amazing technology for balancing or training the brain and helping clear past trauma.
Yelapa is a delightful Mexican fishing village, located on a sleepy little bay just south of Puerto Vallarta. Since there are no roads to Yelapa (one of the things people love most about the town), it takes a 45-minute boat ride from Puerto Vallarta to the village. As there are no roads in Yelapa, there are no cars, less noise, less pollution, and less stress. The donkeys used for transport make their noise and pollution, but you'll manage. There are now some small ATVs that help residents transport people and materials, so not as pristine as the old days, but still charming.
You will meet for one night in the romantic old town of Puerto Vallarta, staying right on the beach at the Emperador Hotel. On Saturday morning, you will walk right across the walkway to the pier and boat that takes you on a beautiful 45-minute ride to Yelapa, often visited and welcomed by dolphins or whales en route. In Yelapa, you are dropped off by boat on the main dock, and wheel your luggage about 1/4 mile to the hotel. Located in the beachfront jungle, a short walk from town, you will enjoy an incredible view of the bay.
Please note that Yelapa is a rustic village, so if you need a 5-star experience, this is not the trip for you. You will experience the challenging yoga practice of making peace with donkey and dog poop! There are uneven paths and steep steps, so please talk about any physical challenge you are concerned about. You will also take a fairly small boat to Yelapa, so be ready for some adventure!
Included are two meals each day in Yelapa, which gives you the freedom to explore the town for some delicious local foods.
Meals in Yelapa include a healthy buffet breakfast each morning after yoga, and one other delicious buffet meal each day (lunch or dinner). The food is fresh and delicious, including local fish, chicken, enchiladas, tortillas, ceviche, beans, avocado, pies, and fruit (papaya, banana, pineapple, melon, and more). Fresh fruit beverages. Yum!
NeurOptimal is an advanced, innovative form of neurotechnology designed to train the brain to function at peak performance levels. Simple, and non-invasive, helps bring the central nervous system into balance, and helps with tension and anxiety. Other potential benefits include clearing trauma, balancing the brain, and numerous other health benefits for personal transformation. A session lasts under an hour.
Whenever there is current or chronic pain, there is a contraction of energy, and scar tissue is often the cause. Energy does not flow through scar tissue and it disrupts the flow through energy meridians in the body. The rapid-release tool uses high-speed vibration and resonant frequencies to penetrate deep into tissue, helping release tension and tightness, and clear restrictive adhesions, by literally breaking up the scar tissue.
1). Inner Emotional Healing (maybe 30 minutes): He will guide you into past wounds, trauma, or triggers, see what emotional wounds resulted from past trauma, and invite the spirit / Jesus to come and heal, and take the pain.
2). Prayerful Presence (maybe 30 minutes): Used to call this “coaching”, but that sounds arrogant, like he knows something! But you can chat, maybe look at your life in general, or a specific challenge or goal, or where to put more energy, where to make some shifts, look at what works, what does not work.
