Go and experience the sacred energy and wonderful beauty of Sedona, Arizona. The retreat includes six nights of beautiful accommodations at the Transition Retreat Center, most meals, yoga, meditation, guided hikes, vortex visits, creek swimming, other trips, and shuttles / transport from and to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX), and shuttles to all guided hikes.
The retreat's host home is called Transition Retreat Center, and transition is the goal! The house has nice, spacious rooms, good views, a wonderful setting in the very heart of Sedona, amazing breakfasts, and a lovely yoga space. The retreat will have the whole place for participants with no other guests or groups.
No worries if you do not have a roommate; Holman Health will find you someone compatible.
Note: There is one additional full bath off the large living room
For the two shared rooms above: full bath, tub / shower combo
There are laundry facilities (washer, dryer, detergent) at the retreat center.
Humans have their ups and downs, and certainly, Earth is not an easy place to live in! It would be wise to feel fully, grieve, and have a heart of compassion. But many live a heavy life, and get bogged down in depression and hopelessness. People need joy! It is essential. Is it possible to feel joy even in the midst of challenge, struggle, and even pain? Yes!
There will be at least one daily yoga and meditation class (sunrise or sunset), some vortex visits and meditations, healing workshops, daily hikes, and other activities. The retreat is expected to have about 12 to 15 people attending. All classes, hikes, and activities are optional, of course. Rest when you need rest.
Holman Health requests that you trust their expertise and experience. All have different abilities in hiking pace and distance. They try to work it out so that everyone gets what they need, but they do have to honor their commitment to the group. This will be a retreat with at least one hike a day. What is easy to one may be difficult to another.
All of the hikes are doable for most people, but Holman Health may have to ask that certain people go a shorter distance or even skip a particular hike. They will do their best to meet everyone’s needs.
Roy has taught since 2000 and is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. He teaches safe, gentle, body-friendly, grounded, breath-connected, prayerful, flowing, and traditional Hatha yoga. He also teaches breathwork (pranayama) and meditation and incorporates the aspects of emotional healing and balancing. Roy is less focused on Hindu gods and more interested in aligning with the Divine (God), and clearing the body temple for the Holy Spirit.
Liz Gross is a certified energy therapist, a vibrational medicine practitioner, and a biopulsar reflexograph analyst. She is a graduate of EarthWalk Institute of Healing Arts in Bellevue, Washington. Liz is a gifted sound and vibration healer and teaches with Roy on retreats. Liz teaches yoga, meditation, oneness, and often does some of the cooking on the retreats. She feels very passionate about vibrational medicine and loves working with others in that way. Here newest tool is NeurOptimal, an amazing technology for balancing or training the brain and helping clear past trauma.
You will be staying right in the heart of Sedona, Arizona. Our retreat home is called Transition Home, which fits our intentions of shifting from fear to joy. The home has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, and has a nice yoga space, hot tub, dining area, and the location is perfect, close to the great hikes, but feels remote and quiet, with wildlife roaming right through the yard at times.
Most meals are included (two or three a day). Daily healthy, mostly organic breakfasts will usually be a wide variety buffet of oatmeal, eggs, granola, cereal, nuts, seeds, nut butter, bread, various kinds of milk (dairy and non-dairy), fresh fruit, flax, hemp, coffee, tea, and much more. Holman Health will make sure that all diets are met.
They also prepare most of the lunches and three or four home-cooked delicious dinners. For other meals, the group will either eat out or they will allow you to make your own food; you can save money and cook at the retreat center.
As this is their 20th year in Sedona, they know the best places to eat - usually Thai on one night, gourmet Mexican on another, and one excellent, “typically Sedona,” health food.
Please note that Holman Health will be happy to take the time to make meals that fit your needs and allergies. However, they ask for no malleable diets. By this, they mean that if you request a certain diet, please stick to what you requested.
They have had numerous attendees who request certain meals (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc.), but when actually at the retreat, after they took considerable time to make their separate meals, they decided to “change their mind” or “just go with the flow” and eat the food intended for the main group.
This gives them extra work and also means that there will be less of the other food for those who did not request special foods.
Again, Holman Health will be happy to fit your needs, but if your request is just a preference - not an actual allergy - consider the extra work that they'll have to take to make your food and be honest and considerate. Thank you!
Liz offers many healing options. For more information, please send an inquiry.

Transfer included
Please book your flight to arrive at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Please contact Holman Health before you book your flights for details.
Some folks choose to arrive a day early or leave late, which is fine. Otherwise, you will meet Holman Health at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) on the first morning (Sunday, April 12), and you will have a rented van waiting.
Please make sure that your flight arrives by 11:00 if you plan to ride with them to Sedona from Phoenix and plan to fly home no earlier than 14:00, again, only if you want to ride with them back from Sedona to Phoenix. They cannot cover the costs of separate transport, only the scheduled van. The separate shuttle is about 80 USD each way.
Note that to ride in the van, you must not have any very large bag. Please travel light as the van has limited space, and most people overpack anyway.
Holman Health offers 50 USD discount if you do not need the van transport to and from Phoenix, or if you have carry-on size bags, and charges an extra 50 USD fee if you have luggage bigger than 40-pound bags or bigger than 17 x 24 inches.
They just do not have the space in the van for more than three or four of this size. Let them know in advance what size of bag you will bring.
