Accommodation

During this retreat, you will be staying at Aldermarsh House in shared rooms. Aldermarsh on Whidbey Island is a beautiful accommodation with good energy and everything you need such as sacred yoga space with hardwood floors, meditation spaces, cordwood sauna, a full kitchen, and access to nature and walking trails. The grounds also include an outdoor Japanese soaking tub and beautifully maintained gardens.

Aldermarsh is both a beautiful wetland and a human-created space where community, collaboration, and sustainability thrive. It is dedicated to educate and inspire spirit and soul-based stewards of the Earth. They host programs and retreats for individuals, groups, and organizations who share their commitment to deeply listen and guide earth and human communities in sustainable ways.

Holman Health Meditation and Yoga Retreats USA Program

Holman Health Connections invite you to their first retreat at Aldermarsh. They have heard of glowing reports on Aldermarsh for many years and finally, they will get to visit the sacred space with you. You will have yoga sessions conducted twice a day, do some hiking in beautiful, bug-free forests, breath and meditation play-shops as well as kirtan or call and response chanting and singing to help you connect on all levels.

Kirtan is an easy way to calm the mind and access higher energy vibrations. There have been many suggestions and methods offered on how to access the higher dimensions but Holman Health will always recommend the use of sound and vibration as they always alter consciousness. Vibrational energy medicine brings the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies back into balance, which opens the way for rebuilding the healing systems of the body.

Breathing techniques will allow you to travel consciously, just as meditation and many forms of yoga will support your shift. You will have a total of four or five yoga classes over the weekend, great food, and great people! There are usually about 15 people included in the retreat, giving you a chance to make new friends. You are invited to do as many or as little as the classes and activities fits your needs.

For this retreat, please plan on arriving any time after 3:00 p.m. on Friday. You will have a gentle, meditative yoga class at 5:30 p.m. for those who can make it by then. If not, try to arrive for dinner at 7:00 p.m. which will be followed by meditation, introductions, and the sacred circle ritual. The program will finish by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Included excursions

For this retreat, you will have a guided hiking trip in the lovely forests surrounding Aldermarsh. You will also have walking meditation sessions.

Instructors

Roy Holman
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Hatha Yoga)
Roy is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition. He teaches a safe, gentle, body-friendly, grounded, breath-connected, meditative, flowing, and traditional Hatha yoga. He also teaches breath-work (pranayama) and meditation and incorporates the aspects of emotional healing and balancing. For Roy, meditation is a mindfulness style, with focus on breath awareness, heart opening, body senses, emotional clearing, and connection on all levels.
Liz Gross
Liz Gross is a certified energy therapist, a vibrational medicine practitioner, and a biopulsar reflexograph analyst. She is a graduate of EarthWalk Institute of Healing Arts in Bellevue, Washington. Liz is a gifted sound and vibration healer and teaches with Roy on retreats. Liz teaches yoga, meditation, oneness, and often does some of the cooking on the retreats. She feels very passionate about vibrational medicine and loves working with others in that way.
