Arrival by airplane

Please book your flights to arrive at either Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) or Bellingham International Airport (BLI). If you do not have transportation, the Bellair Airporter shuttle is the most comfortable and affordable. Stanwood is the closest pickup and dropoff place point but Burlington or Mount Vernon is also available and has an indoor terminal. Please arrange for a pick up before you travel by calling or e-mailing the retreat center.

Arrival by train

The Amtrak station is just a few miles away. It does not stop at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The train would only be a viable means for travelers who are not flying in. The closest station is Stanwood but Mount Vernon is also very accessible. Mount Vernon may have more choices since it is larger. Please call Angelsong Retreat Center for a pickup.

  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 15 days before arrival.

Felt more like a group therapy weekend

CONS Cons: Not a lot of time was spent doing yoga and the yoga was very basic (more like just stretching). The instructors did not offer challenges for students that really needed them. (This could have changed the whole experience for me). Coffee was limited. The leaders claimed to not know how to make coffee. We were told there was a Jacuzzi and there was but we were discouraged from using it. We were not told ahead of time that there would be no internet or cell service. I personally believe that the owner probably does has WiFi. There were several people who needed to be able to check in with there families. I did not have this problem but I felt lied to. I do think that others really did enjoyed themselves! I believe this was a very good and maybe even perfect retreat for many but I didn't enjoy it. However, I do think that I did learn a few things and who knows maybe I needed the experience just as it was.

PROS Pros: The location was nice. The food was tasty. People were interesting.

Organizer response: Hi Caralisa. Thank you so much for stretching your comfort zone and attending our retreat. I could see immediately that you were interested more in an exercise type of weekend, while we focus more on meditative yoga, deep connection, and mindful hiking. I think you know that the only time we adjusted the hot tub time was to ask to limit it to before 10pm, as a couple of you were a bit noisy the first night. We did have a land line that all were encouraged to use to contact loved ones. While not coffee drinkers, Liz and I asked for volunteers who made plenty of coffee. Lastly, people signed a release form agreeing to not use alcohol at this retreat, but we noticed empty bottles from your room. Again, while this was clearly not your type of retreat, we do appreciate you giving it a try, and I love your last comment that maybe it was exactly what you needed. May it be so. I followed your suggestions and am warning people about the internet coverage challenge, although I actually feel this deepens the inner experience. Many blessings, Roy and Liz
