During the retreat, you will lodge in the thermal village of Hveragerdi to bathe in the hot springs river as well as enjoy their facilities and delicious vegetarian cuisine. These are all part of experiencing this sacred terrain.

Holly Niemela Yoga Retreat Iceland Program

Yogasanas, breathwork, relaxing Yoga Nidra, meditation, bathing in the thermal baths, and walks in the nature will be part of your daily schedule with Holly Niemela. Research now shows that meditation can decrease the negative effects of stress. Additionally, certain studies show that meditative practices focusing on altruism, compassion, and loving kindness awaken parts of the brain that stimulate positive emotions, increase our immune system, and lessen anxiety.

During the retreat, you will focus on yoga, meditation, and personal wellbeing practices to open your mind and inner awareness, work your bodies without pain, and just have fun being in the wonderland. The yoga practices will include a combination of gentle and dynamic movement, deep relaxation with yoga Nidra, breathwork, and meditation.


Holly Niemela
Holly has studied yoga and mind-body therapies for over 28 years with teachers from Europe, the United States, and India. She is a Reiki master, directly trained by John Harvey Grey. Holly is also trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) under the direction of Jon Kabat-Zinn and was part of the first group of teachers that brought MBSR to France. Holly is a certified teacher in the mindfulness and emotional intelligence program.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Holly Niemela will pick you up from the airport.
