During the retreat, you will stay at Himalayan Yoga Resort, Kathmandu. You will have three options of accommodation: eco house with attached bathroom, Kailash bungalow with private bathroom, and cottage tent with common bathroom. There are a lot facilities in Himalayan Yoga Resort that you can enjoy during your stay, such as dining area, garden, healing chamber, library, and free Wi-Fi.

Day 1 - Arrival

During the retreat, you will be served daily vegetarian meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Daily herbal tea will also be provided. HIYA follows organic, vegetarian, vegan, and raw food diets as much as possible using locally grown fresh produce.

In Nepalese culture, there are many traditional festivals that you can attend, such as Ropain Jatra, Teej or women’s festival, Dasain, Deepawali, Mashivaratri, Buddha Purnima, Nepali New Year, and more. These festivals occur throughout the year. During these festive dates, at the retreat center, you are welcomed with open arms to join in as part of the family.

Driving directions from Thamel

  • Go to Balaju Ring Road and reach Swayambhu, in front of three Buddha statues.
  • From this point, take a U turn.
  • Right towards Ichangu temple, drive about two kilometers up to Nagarjun Ward Office.
  • Take right up to a big tree and temple and you will arrive at HIYA.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). Transfers from and to the airport are available at 15 USD each way per person. If you book for more than two people, it will cost 10 USD per person. If you arrived from Thamel, it costs 6 USD.
