Himalayan Yoga Retreat Yoga Teacher Training Rishikesh Program

Himalayan Yoga Retreat offers a comprehensive 500-hour yoga teacher training program that provides thorough training all aspects of yoga. It is designed for motivated practitioners who wish to make yoga a way of life and wish to spread the knowledge. The 500-hour training focuses on the progression of asanas, allowing students to become more advanced in their practice.

Swami Prakash believes in the holistic growth of the practitioner and includes therapies and training in breathing techniques to aid in meditation, pressure points to remove emotional blockages, and Ayurvedic knowledge. Himalayan Yoga Retreat’s students are trained in these disciplines as a part of their teacher training and can use this knowledge to further their practice.

The course content of this program is based upon Yoga Alliance’s standards. Daily practice includes eight hours of thorough training, covering topics of mudras, dhyana, pranayama, asana, philosophy of yoga, insights into human anatomy, physiology, naturopathic medicine, and self-healing techniques. Frequent question and answer sessions will help clarify any doubts along the way.

Course curriculum


To give the purest thoughts to your mind like a positive virus. You will be taught about the correct pronunciation of Vedic mantras in Sanskrit and also japa. The pronunciation is essential in creating a vibration working on your different bodies. You will also be taught the purpose of the mantra as the teacher needs to know the effect and give the right mantra according to the specific subject like better concentration, self love, more devotion, and more strength.

There will be a class on regularity and punctuality in the practical and theory session, emotional stability or maturity, and character.

Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Swami Prakash, founder of Himalayan Yoga Retreat, is an experienced yoga trainer at the E-RYT 500 level, registered through Yoga Alliance USA and Yoga Alliance International India. He has been practicing passionately since 1997. He has been teaching since 2002 and adds his inner intuition and years of independent research into his teaching methodology.

Retreat location

The yoga teacher training will be held at Himalayan Yoga Retreat’s center located in Rishikesh. This town is known as the world capital of yoga, located where the Ganges River comes down from the Himalayas, Rishikesh catapulted to Western fame when the Beatles dropped by for a visit to Maharishi Mahesh yogi's ashram.
