This 200-hour yoga certification program provides a platform to make these dreams a reality.
The thorough and intensive course overlooking the majestic Himalayas serves as a gateway to enter the yogic path and evolve as a practitioner. The curriculum is carefully structured to trigger the seed of passion inside a yoga practitioner, enhance your foundational base, awaken the inherent teacher in you, and acquire a yoga teaching certification that is internationally recognized.
At Himalayan Yoga Bliss Darjeeling, the organizer provides stunning rooms in their newly built and refurbished accommodation. Accommodation is on a sharing basis with two people in each room and a private bathroom for each room. If desired, private rooms are available at an extra cost.
The rooms are walking distance from the main Shala and overlook the beautiful Himalayan range of Kanchenjunga, considered to be the tallest mountain in the world until the turn of the 19th century.
The course is designed in a way as to not only serve the physical needs but also to break the mental limitations of our students. Our yoga teacher training includes advance physical postures to less intensive and more restorative sessions. During all our yoga certification programs, we introduce students to the various styles of Hatha yoga and its contemporary practices such as Ashtanga yoga and multi-styled themed Vinyasa flow. We focus on accurate alignment of these styles, cues on commands, physical and spiritual awareness of dynamic yoga postures.
Classical yoga philosophy of Patanjali Yoga Sutras is intertwined throughout the course. Introduction to many aspects of ancient and contemporary meditation, Pranayama breathing techniques, Ayurveda and its relationship with yoga, scientific benefits of Sanskrit mantra chanting, yoga mudras, Kriya inner cleansing techniques and various other elements that make yoga a complete practice. You will leave the course truly open with a new understanding of yoga, your ability to relate to this world, and most importantly, to yourself.
The syllabus is carefully tailored to provide our students with the tools needed for teaching and deepening self-practice. Technical workshops will emphasize the more demanding and advanced postures along with a breakdown of various styles and a thorough introduction and immersion into its alignment and adjustments. These workshops are held and practiced to assess the progress being done in our everyday Asana practice session. The yogic Asanas are enjoyable and interactive with an opportunity to explore the limitations and intelligence of our physical body.
The 200-hour yoga teacher training offers a profound foundation in every style of Vinyasa Flow, focusing on accurate alignment of the postures of the primary series. Your training course will begin with introductory classes of the primary series, progressing through a variety of multi-style Vinyasa Flow as you proceed through the series. Technical workshops will help emphasize the crucial areas.
These workshops are essentially rewarding in terms of assessing the visual progress that you make in your everyday training session. This serves as a reminder too about the fact that yoga is fun and interactive at Himalayan Yoga Bliss. This is in total contrast to the general view that everyone does have about yoga as dealing exclusively with self-discipline and concentration during the practice. Pranayama that teaches the breathing techniques is also included as a part of the routine of the daily sessions.
Classical yoga philosophy is intertwined all through the course. Patanjalis' yoga sutras, as well as the ancient history of yoga, will also be introduced as a part of the course. This provides a clear distinction between the classic yoga and its contemporary approach along with their influences on our life. You will be encouraged to teach your peers during the second week of your training. You will gradually start by teaching each other on a one-to-one basis initially.
You will then proceed to the device and deliver your own lesson plan. The necessary tools will be provided for you to improve your teaching skills every week. This would eventually facilitate you to prepare your own yoga class which you will have the opportunity to teach in the closing week. You will be assessed based on this in the final week of the course.
Usually, students consider the last week the most memorable part of their course as they showcase all their capability and everything that they have learned throughout the course during this week. Participating and providing valuable feedback in the classes conducted by peers is the best means to learn the art of teaching. The specifications outlined above assure that all the yoga trainees of Himalayan Yoga Bliss acquire instructions and training under the aforementioned five educational categories for the stipulated number of hours. The remaining contact hours and elective hours shall be allotted among the same five educational categories; however, the number of hours may be allocated at the discretion of the type of course.
Himalayan Yoga Bliss yoga teacher training program starts early in the morning to inspire students with the view of beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. Saturday is a half-day, followed by Sunday an off day, where different hikes, treks, and cultural tours will be planned, for students interested.
If students would prefer, they can plan their own day off too. To help students make the most of their stay, the daily schedule for the training is rigorous, yet allows ample break times throughout the day. Take advantage of these restorative break periods to engage in activities that will enrich your yoga experience, such as enjoying meals, relaxing at the mountains, and reading, socializing with your classmates, meditating or even just practicing your favorite asanas.
On Sundays, you will be able to enjoy cultural tours, visiting different monasteries, tea gardens, and temples. On the weekends, hiking to the Himalayan terrains will be an adventurous and amazing experience!

At Himalayan Yoga Bliss, our residential chef freshly prepares daily 3 meals catered with lots of love and attention. The menu is designed to be pure vegetarian, Ayurvedic and Satvik with a focus on using locally produced, organic where possible produce and ingredients. This is a new way to look at our food and develop an appreciation for the natural flavors nature has provided us in its complete simplicity and totality. From the airport, you can travel from the nearest train station to Darjeeling in New Jalpaiguri (NJP), it is connected to all the major cities in India.
