This 200-hour yoga teacher training extends over four weeks in the tranquil location of Goa, India. Here, you will study in an environment that promotes concentration, inspiration, and excellence. Hailed as one of India’s best yoga teacher training program, the course includes everything from advanced physical postures, to helping in overcoming your mental limitations.

You will discover the benefits of pure Satvik yogic food which will be provided throughout the course. With your highly trained teachers, serene tropical location, and the optimized environment, you can expect to make rapid progress toward your goal of becoming a qualified yoga teacher.

You will be introduced to all the basic styles of Hatha, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa flow. Once you have completed the 200-hour training, you will have a good idea of the advanced areas you want to explore. Your understanding of the vast concept of yoga will begin to take shape. You will have new purpose in life to teach, learn, and unlearn.

This training is specifically designed for students who already have a basic knowledge of yoga and want to develop a deeper understanding and mastery of the mind, leading to self-realization through this beautiful spiritual practice.

For four weeks, this 200-hour program immerses you in yoga, its philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, Ayurveda, and yogic diet. It is very well structured to help a student understand the basic foundation of yoga to build a strong base in order to begin the journey as yoga teacher. The classical approach to yoga gives out students a direct insight to what yoga actually is all about.

Your course is based on the four paths of yoga that will touch and rediscover the subtle part of being a student. These four weeks will showcase all the dimension and the vast expansion of yoga understood and practiced in the east. This certification in Goa ensures great learning experiences in a beautiful tropical location.

This satisfies the very reason why a student wants to travel from around the globe to India to seek this traditional root knowledge of yoga passed down by the ancient yogis through their intense meditation and sadhana. Throughout the course, the four paths of yoga is entwined along with the precious knowledge of the yoga sutras of Patanjali. This opens a seeker, a student to the vast philosophy of yoga preparing him or her to pass on this methodology called yoga to their future students.

Students will be encouraged to teach peers during the second week of the course. This will start by teaching each other on group basis initially. You will then proceed to device and deliver your own lesson plans individually. Your teachers will provide tools and key instructions necessary to improve your teaching skills every week. This would eventually facilitate you to prepare your yoga class and your final practical.

Your last week will be the most memorable part of the course as you will showcase all your capability and everything that you have learnt throughout the course. Participating and providing valuable feedback in the classes conducted by the peers and teachers makes a student fully confident and ready to teach after the certification.     Sonam is the founder and director of Himalayan Yoga Bliss. Her aim is to make yoga teacher training reachable to everyone in order to help students from various backgrounds and cultures from all around the world to experience the mystical powers of the Himalayas and the inspiration it has bestowed upon yogis for centuries. She is a certified E-RYT 200 and RYT 500 yoga instructor who likes to connect the eastern philosophies of yoga to the contemporary west.

  • Saravanan

    Saravanan teaching is very dynamic as he guides and encourages his students to appreciate their body, its power, and limitations. His warm and helpful nature empathizes his students to achieve proper alignment, health, mental, and spiritual benefits. His teaching style is based on the teachings of various Indian masters and his own practice as he travels teaching and learning around the world.

  • Emma

    Emma trained as a yoga teacher with the International Sivananda organisation in Vietnam and she trained as a Children’s Yoga teacher with Rainbow Kids Yoga in London. She completed her Ayurveda therapist training with Dr Vinod at the Ayuskama Ayurveda and Panchakarma Centre in India. Emma has worked closely with the International Indian Film Awards for events in Macau, India and Sri Lanka. In 2011, she returned to India to teach yoga and write a weekly yoga column for The Hindustan Times, a national newspaper

  • Vishnuji

    From a very early age, Vishnuji started visiting ashrams, temples, and monasteries.There, he came across the profound understanding and teachings of the Indian philosophy, Vedas, and the origins of the traditional Hatha yoga and its contemporary techniques. His quest for reality taught him many things and experience life as a beautiful universal experience. A charming and dedicated yogi, Vishnuji’s humor is full of life, making his classes very lively and fun. Being a very natural teacher, his deep array of philosophy comes from his very love for yoga, the universe, and its divine existence.

  • Rakesh

    Rakesh is a natural orator and awarded Acharya of Yoga. He started practicing yoga from a very early age, and was further drawn to the practice thereafter. After visiting many ashrams learning and teaching under various gurus, yoga became his only way of life. He is a teacher who presents the intricate yoga philosophy and its practice in a simple, down-to-earth, and humorous manner. His lectures are based on the four classical paths of yoga as well as his own spiritual experiences and understanding of the yogic path.

The training is held in a scenic location of southern Goa surrounded by beautiful trees and jungle, away from the chaos and the hustle bustle of the highly touristic area. It is perfect for an enthusiast who would like to explore this beautiful place and the most sought after spot in India. The center is located just a five minutes ride away from one of the most beautiful and idyllic beaches, Agonda beach.

The place, high up in the the tea fields of Darjeeling is the epitome of serenity, peace, and escapism; and serves as a great place to discover more about yoga, the Himalayan region of India, and yourself. The teaching course was fantastic, in depth, hard enough to challenge your physical and mental limits; but taught in a simple and caring manner. Both our teachers were great, and the locals, our homestay hosts, and everyone we encountered in town were so friendly. The course and town was not daunting to a group of India first-timers like us, but we really felt adopted by the community.     "I did a Yoga Teacher Training (200h) in the fall of 2015 at the Himalayan Yoga Bliss & Wellness Centre and I can only highly recommend it. The teachers are wonderful Yogis and Yoginis, knowledgable and caring. The training teached me to be open minded and opened up my heart to the large field of Yoga. Yoga is so much more than I thought it to be - and I am grateful to have been able to discover so many facets of it. They teach different style physical practices (we did Hatha, Ashtanga Primary series and Vinyasa Flow) and also a great deal of meditation, chanting and the ancient philosophy and history of Yoga. It has been an intense month of practicing and learning."

    "I had the pleasure of studying under the tutelage of Yogi´s Sonam and Vishnu during a 200hr YTTC at the beautiful Himalayan Yoga Bliss studio in Darjeeling, India. To wake up for morning meditation and asana classes while watching the sun rise paint golden light across Kanchenjunga´s frozen peaks was an experience that I wont soon forget. I can not speak highly enough of the experience, knowledge and wisdom passed down by each teacher. The design of the YTTC was brilliant in its breadth, scope, and depth. The course was demanding and highly intensive and as such hugely rewarding. The location was also wonderful. I thought the combination of different styles were great and beneficial for our different learning. Where else can you practice yoga while looking out over the powerful and magnificent Kanchenjunga? It truly is a breathtaking and "blissful" experience. Instructors are brought in from all different parts of the world for each training period, providing a wide scope of experience as each has their own unique teaching style to share. The director of the center, Sonam is a true yogini and has a lot to offer in terms of experience, knowledge, technique, friendship, and support.     "We're on a ten person family trip from the UK to Darjeeling via Kolkata and spotted the center by chance on a walk and dropped them an email. They couldn't have been more accommodating to our needs. We're a mixed age and experience group (some of us trying yoga for the first time). It's an attractive, clean, and well-maintained place, very reasonable at 300 INR a head and Sandra is a great teacher. It was spectacular for us to do early morning yoga here and I can't recommend it enough."

    "I spent one month here doing my 200-hour yoga teacher training. We were looked after so well, with comfortable, clean accommodation, and healthy freshly prepared food! I loved the personal touch. This is not a big impersonal ashram and you're not just another cog in the Indian yoga machine. Instead, there is a lovely supportive atmosphere - more like a small family! I have no problem recommending this place. I've been raving about it to family and friends since getting back to Ireland. On a practical level, there was an interesting range of instructors, teaching various styles."

    "After an ominous decision to spend a month and a half in Darjeeling, I was very much blessed with the proximity of this wonderful yoga establishment. The place itself is located on a lovely hill overlooking the most astonishing view of the second highest mountain in the world and its majestic surroundings. Combined with that, the beautifully made yoga hall with the windows that catch sight of the sunrise and sunset did it for me. All the classes in that hall were as inspiring and healing as the time of the day they took place, that is, during sunrise and sunset. I did yoga once and sometimes twice almost every day and by the end of my stay, I was as blissful as could be - in body and mind.Whatever people say, bliss lies within, and this place and its people were the perfect ground for inspiring that little glimpse of bliss within me!     "Just finished my 200 hour yoga teacher training here at Himalayan Yoga Bliss and it's been great. The food has been amazing, home cooked, and healthy! Great accommodation too. A high standard flat with two bedrooms, a living room, and kitchen. Really good teachers - professional and knowledgeable! I'm happy to recommend this place to anyone doing a TTC or drop-in class. The founder, Sonam and her husband are super friendly and welcoming. They really make you feel at home!"

    "I did the TTC here in November 2014 and I had an absolute lovely time. I read the comment here about us complaining on the food and it couldn't be more wrong! We all loved the food we got!! I really enjoyed our teachers and the TTC. We were a small group of four people so we got plenty of personal attention and it was a relaxing environment. The studio is in an amazing location with a stunning view over the city and the Himalayas. I would definitely recommend Himalayan Yoga Bliss if you feel like doing yoga in Darjeeling!!"

    "I couldn't recommend this yoga centre enough. If you're a seasoned yoga enthusiast then I predict this place can bring you along, not only through the beautiful surroundings but through the expertise and warmth of the staff. Or if like me, you are just interested, please head to the Himalayan Yoga Bliss and Wellness Center. I was made to feel like part of the family (having great food and conversation in the host, Sonam's, apartment) and most importantly, I wasn't made to feel embarrassed by the fact I was useless at yoga. Definitely the best thing Darjeeling has to offer - I've been here five months, and my only regret is not making the walk up the hill sooner."
