Himalayan Yoga Association’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a professional and comprehensive program which is designed by accomplished yoga masters after a lot of self-study on the subjects of yoga in order to provide best teachings to their students. 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Himalayan Yoga Association offers detailed teaching on asanas (postures), meditation, pranayama, yoga philosophy, yoga anatomy and physiology, alignment-adjustment, teaching methodology as well as fundamentals of Ayurveda and its importance.
All yoga classes are taught by well - educated accomplished yogis (Masters) that lefts no space for doubts on the teachings when students step forward to teach others. Comprehensive and deep study of postures anatomy, movements and the key systems of the body. Learn how the body parts work and apply this knowledge for safe and effective practice and teaching.
The course includes a deep practice of asanas (postures), Hatha yoga, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa flow as well as its theory. Students are also provided a separate class on alignment- adjustment- teaching methodology as these are part of the training, this class has given enough time to students to interact with their teachers and find out the answers of their questions.
Yoga philosophy in Sanskrit called yoga darshan which means guiding students through philosophy of life with the help of ancient yoga texts to the aim of yoga. 200 Hour course at vinyasa yoga school imparts teachings of the mystic sage Patanjali’s ‘Patanjali yoga sutras’ which teaches students to learn how to live an appropriate life.
Mantras - Sound vibrations that permeate every cell of your being and allow your mind to dissolve and repose. Meditation is that which gives you deep rest. Meditation is an activity in which the practitioner just sits and allows the mind to dissolve. The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that you can ever have. When the mind becomes free from agitation, is calm and serene and at peace, meditation happens.
The prana creates an aura around the body. It flows through thousands of subtle energy channels called ‘nadis’ and energy centers called ‘chakras’. The quantity and quality of prana and the way it flows through the nadis and chakras determine one’s state of mind. If the prana level is high and its flow is continuous, smooth and steady, the mind remains calm, positive and enthusiastic.
Ayurveda is ancient knowledge that indicates the very measure of life, advising on the appropriate and inappropriate, happy and sorrowful conditions of living, and recommending practices auspicious for longevity.
Syllabus
Ashtanga yoga primary series sequence made by K. pattabhi jois, In 200 hours yoga TTC we teach our students basics of Ashtanga yoga and we guide them through the completely Ashtanga yoga series in a systematically way according to the ashtanga yoga tradition which includes-:
1. Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda
2. Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar
3. Yoga mala - Sri Pattabhi Jois
4. Asana pranayama mudra bandha
All classes are mandatory only in case of an emergency or illness one can take leave with respected teacher permission. Uninformed leaves won’t be accepted and this will leave a bad impression on student monthly performance.
A high degree of self-motivation is required for all aspects of the course. The practice and especially the teaching of yoga demand a high degree of self-discipline and purity. To ensure the success of the program, participants are required to attend all spirituals activities, meditation sessions, lectures, and asana classes. Meat, fish, eggs, black tea, coffee, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and nudity are prohibited during the course as they are counterproductive to the yoga practice. Participants who do not comply with the school rules may be dismissed from the course.
Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited in the school. If you are having a fast any day, you have to inform the kitchen manager for avoiding food waste. Always make discipline, respect teachers and follow all rules. Always be on time. If you are late means you will not be permitted to join the class. Clear your books of account before departure from Himalayan Yoga Association. Before departure return your books, maps or any goods which you borrowed. Himalayan Yoga Association provides accommodation for a student who joins the yoga course. So any friends or relatives will not be included in the accommodation. However, they can stay in school by renting another room.
The course fees will not be refundable, only in the case of emergency students can join us on other schedules. If the student cancels the course after joining it, Himalayan yoga Association accepts cancellation but course fees will not be refunded in cancellation.

At the age of 16, she started practicing yoga, especially meditation. Yogi Ankit Ji has a profound experience of teaching Ashtanga/Vinyasa flow/Hatha/Iyengar yoga. His heart is the source of inspiration which helps the yoga students to know true practices of yoga. Ankit Ji has learned yogic teachings from great yoga masters. He has completed his master's degree and he is teaching yoga for two years the deep experience of teaching has helped him to develop special teaching techniques which proved effective.
One of the finest yoga instructors, Yogi Vipin Ji is a gold medalist in international yoga championship events. The simplicity of Vipin Ji and his life and teachings helped the students to know what the want to do in their life. Yogi Amit Ji is a very well known master of Ashtanga/Vinyasa flow/Hatha/Alignment. During the training course students are served three meals per day. The food served is hygienically prepared, nutritious, and healthy. Vinyasa yoga school in Rishikesh puts special emphasis over yogi food for all its students.
Food provided at the centre is 100% vegetarian but not vegan. It can be . arranged provided you inform the chef about it well in advance. There will be served 3 vegetarian meals per day (and a cup of chai during ourtea breaks) for the duration of the course.
The meals are unlimited. Generally, you’ll get a plate of food with all of the various vegetarian Indian dishes appropriate for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (according to a yogic diet.) We always make a surplus of food for our students, which is usually placed on the dinner tables for our students to grab from if they want more of a particular dish. You can also always feel free to talk to our kitchen staff if you’d like your meals prepared a certain way or if you’d like extra food.

The closest and most convenient airport for you is to fly to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). If you are visiting India for the first time, then it is better for you to take a flight to Dehradun Airport (DED), and from Dehradun is a 30 minutes drive by car, so you save a hustle.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Rishikesh by car is a 6-hour journey. Himalayan Yoga Association have a transportation package for 150 USD which will cover your airport pick-up, transfer from Delhi to Rishikesh (by car) and after completion of the course transfer back from Rishikesh to Delhi. One way transportation i.e. Delhi airport to Rishikesh can also be availed for 75 USD.
In case your flight arrives late night and you want to stay overnight in Delhi, airport pick-up cost will be 25 USD and a reasonably good accommodation at a hotel in Delhi can be arranged for 40 or 50 USD. Himalayan yoga Association travel arrangements are executed under the supervision of professionals and they are always ready with a back-up plan, in case of emergencies.
Another good option is to travel by train (airport to New Delhi train station by car, then by train to Haridwar and from Haridwar to Rishikesh by car). Travel by bus is quite cheap but a bit inconvenient for first time visitors.
Cheap hotels can also be found in Delhi (Main Bazar, Paharganj area) for 10 to 20 USD. From Delhi airport to Paharganj can be reached by airport metro express in less than 20 minutes and it costs less than 2 USD.
If you opt to use public transportation to reach the school, please contact the school upon arriving in Rishikesh, so they can help you with directions for walking a short distance to the school.
It is safe to travel alone to Rishikesh, many tourists do it. However, it might be a bit challenging to travel by local buses or trains sometimes if you have never been to India before, as it is very different from other parts of the world.
