Why Everest Base Camp yoga trek?

This thrilling trek leads you to Everest Base Camp as near as possible to view Mount Everest and other of the highest mountains vistas. It is like heaven on earth. Also, it includes one of the best viewpoints on earth, Kala Pathar, where you will have a perfect and jaw-dropping view of the highest point of earth. You will experience other majestic panoramic mountain views and below views to the Khumbu Glacier and scenic Alpine valleys.

Among the highlights to see are Mount Everest, Lhoste, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Thamserku, Kangde, Makalu, Baruntse, and many more. Its beauty is supplemented by the local Sherpa culture, monasteries, and flawless view of Ama Dablam from Tengboche Monastery.

Daily itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day - Kathmandu (1400 meters)

You will be welcomed and received on your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Kathmandu. You will then be transferred and checked into the yoga center. The trip briefing will take place at some time in the evening. You will be informed about the briefing time on your arrival by the representative.

  • 17:00 - 17:15 Herbal tea
  • 17:15 - 18:45 Bhakti yoga (prayer or chants), spinal asana or suryanamaskar, Yoga Nidra, mudra, Dhyana yoga (meditation)
  • 19:00 - 19:30 Dinner and herbal tea
  • 19:30 - 20:30 Bhakti yoga (prayer or chants), Trataka (concentrated gaze), and discussion
  • 20:30 - 21:45 Evening walk, Vajrasana, self-study, and practice
  • 22:00 Bedtime (lights out)

Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2840 meters) and trek to Phakding (2610 meters in three to four hours)

You will practice a morning yoga session. This is your first day on the mountain. After the 30-minute scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu, you will start walking. You will arrive at your destination after three to four hours of easy hiking from Lukla to Phakding. Then you will have an evening yoga session. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 3: Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440 meters in five to six hours)

Waking up in the mountains to go to an exciting day starts with your delicious and hot mountain breakfast after your morning yoga class in Phakding. You will then begin your hike up to Namche where you will traverse several scenic points such as Splendid Rhododendron forests, thrilling suspension bridge, Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi, and many more.

Upon arrival to your destination, you will be warmly welcomed by the beautiful settlement in the lap of the Himalayas. Namche Bazaar is literally known as the Gateway of Everest and the administrative hub of the Khumbu region. You will then enjoy the evening meditation and dinner then you will overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 4: Acclimatization day (four to five hours walk)

As an acclimatization day, in the morning, you will do an amazing yoga class and then breakfast. You will stroll around the Namche Bazaar. Also, you will have an easy day hike to Everest View hotel to see Mount Everest for the first time and discover other eye-catching mountain views.

Another purpose of this hike is to adjust your body in high elevation as a preventive measure to stay away from the altitude sickness. Today’s other highlights are to explore Sherpa culture and visit Khude and Khumjung Village. You will return back to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon. Then, you will have a peaceful meditation in front of the mountains. Your overnight stay will be at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 5: Namche - Tengboche (3860 meters in four to five hours)

After a yoga class in the morning followed by breakfast, your day starts with ascending to your next destination. You will walk along the Dudh Koshi River and fascinating forest of Rhododendron, the national flower. You may even encounter multi-color pheasants, musk deer, Himalayan Thar, and more.

Upon arrival for the day, you will have an opportunity to see one of the largest monasteries in the Khumbu region, Tengboche Monastery. If you are lucky, you can experience a ceremony. You must also mention this day offers the legendary peak views of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, Mount Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Then you will have an evening yoga session with meditation. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 6: Tengboche - Dingboche (4410 meters in five to six hours)

Another adventurous day starts after your yoga session followed by a mountain breakfast at the hotel. You need to walk around five to six hours for your next destination. This day also offers a variety of sceneries en-route to Dingboche. On the way, you will walk through the Pangbouche village, the biggest Sherpa settlement in the Khumbu region. It is here that you can visit an ancient monastery. Then continue walking up to Dingboche. After you reach there, take a break and enjoy the evening meditation. Your overnight stay will be at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 7: Another acclimatization day

You will practice a morning yoga session followed by breakfast. To utilize the day, you will have a day hike to Chhuking Ri to explore and see the remarkable view of the mountains. A fun and enjoyable day where you will have time for relaxation, exploration, and making new friends. Then you will get back to the hotel and enjoy a peaceful meditation followed by dinner. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 8: Dingboche - Labuche (4910 meters in five to six hours)

After the morning yoga session followed by amazing mountain breakfast, you start to hike for Labuche. As an adventurous day, you will steep climb up passing by chorten and many more beautiful sceneries. Stupendous mountain views cannot be ignored as you finally reach Lobuche. Then you will do your evening meditation session. Your overnight stay will be at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 9: Labuche - Gorakshep (5140 meters) with a visit to Everest Base Camp (5364 meters in seven to eight hours)

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Yoga - Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, yogasana, pranayama, Shanty path (peace mantra)

This is a very important day for trekkers as you are going to see Everest Base Camp. In the early morning, you will be walking towards Gorakashep from Labuche where you will have lunch. From here, you will continue on towards Everest Base Camp making it a really adventurous and exciting day.

You will walk in view of Everest and alongside glaciers. Your highlights of today are magnificent views of Everest including other grandiose mountains vistas, delightful glaciers, and plenty more. After having a wonderful day, you will head back to Gorakeshep for dinner and rest with an evening meditation. Your overnight stay will be at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 10: Early morning hike to Kalapathar (5545 meters) - Trek down to Pheriche (4240 meters in seven to eight hours)

Another important and awaited day for trekkers. Early morning, you will set out to Kalapathar-Black Rock, one of the most amazing viewpoints of the Himalayan region. You will witness a stunning sunrise over Mount Everest and spectacular views of other great mountains.

After spending some quality and unforgettable time at Kalapathar, you are doing yoga poses on the top of the world as well as free time to photography. You will hike down to Gorakshep and continue further down to Pheriche. Then you will enjoy an evening meditation and dinner. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 11: Pheriche - Namche (3440 meters in six to seven hours)

After the yoga session and breakfast, you start your journey to Namche, which takes approximately six to seven hours from Pheriche. You will have ups and downs during the walking and remember to take some time to take in the natural beauty you find yourself in. You will arrive at Namche Bazar for your evening meal and stay. Then, you will do your evening peaceful meditation session. Your overnight stay will be at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 12: Namche - Lukla (2840 meters in six to seven hours)

It is time to say farewell to Namche, the most beautiful Himalayan town in Khumbu Region. You will enjoy a morning yoga session and breakfast then you will have a similar trail like the previous day. You will be walking through forests with ups and down trekking trail, crossing the suspension bridge and pass along significant monuments and impressive Sherpa villages. You arrive back to Lukla today. Then, you will have an evening meditation session. You will stay overnight at a guesthouse. Full board plan will be served.

Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu (1350 meters)

You can say bye to the mountain for the time being. You wake up with breakfast and head to the airport in Lukla where you will board your flight. After 30 minutes of flying through the mountains, you will land back in Kathmandu. You will drive to Himalayan Yoga Academy.

  • 22:00 Bedtime (lights out) and can have a discussion about the trip experience stay in the yoga center

Day 14: Leisure day

This is a leisure day. In the morning, you will have a yoga session on this day. In case of a flight cancellation from Lukla to Kathmandu due to the weather, Himalayan Yoga Academy encourages an additional day to plan into your itinerary. Itineraries can shift and weather delays can affect schedules. If not used, you will be able to take this day for any purpose or request.

Want to explore the many beautiful sites within Kathmandu? Ask them about your day tour offerings that they can easily add into your package. Kathmandu is a beautiful and chaotic city that has plenty of places to visit if you wish. In the evening, you will have an amazing meditation session.

Day 15: Departure

  • 06:00 Wake up and Ushapan (early drinking water)
  • 06:30 - 07:00 Jala Neti (nasal cleansing) and herbal tea
  • 07:00 - 08:45 Bhakti yoga (prayer or chants), warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, yogasana, bandha, pranayama, Shanty path (peace mantra)
  • 09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast and herbal tea

Today is your last day of the Nepal yoga trek so they will transfer you to the airport for the departure or to the city.
