Program

Day 1: Arrival day - Kathmandu - 1400 meters

You will be welcomed and received on your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. You will then be transferred and checked into yoga center. The trip briefing will take place at some time in the evening. You will be informed about the briefing time on your arrival by the representative.

  • 17:15 - 18:45 Bhakti yoga (prayer/chants), spinal asana/Suryanamaskar, Yoga Nidra, mudra, Dhyana yoga (meditation)
  • 19:00 - 19:30 Dinner and herbal tea
  • 19:30 - 20:30 Bhakti yoga (prayer/chants), Trataka (concentrated gaze), and discussion
  • 20:30 - 21:45 Evening walk, Vajrasana, self-study, and practice
  • 22:00 Bedtime (lights out)

Day 2: Kathmandu - Yoga class and drive to Pokhara: 900 meters - breakfast and dinner

  • 06:00 Wake up and Ushapan (early drinking water)
  • 06:30 - 07:00 Jala Neti (nasal cleansing) and herbal tea
  • 07:00 - 08:45 Bhakti yoga (prayer/chants), warmup exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, Bandha, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra)
  • 09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast and herbal tea

You will take breakfast after yoga class and check out the hotel to go to Pokhara. A seven-hour drive by tourist bus takes you to the amazingly beautiful city of Pokhara 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. The drive is very scenic which goes through the winding and stretching road alongside the famous rafting river of Trishuli and later on Marsyangdi.

The passing through some beautiful small Nepali towns will give you some glimpses of the countryside of Nepal. Stay in hotel and evening meditation and diner. Approximate distance - 200 kilometers; approximate travel duration- seven hours.

Day 3: Pokhara 900 meters - Tikhedhunga 1527 meters - breakfast/lunch/dinner

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra)

You will take breakfast after yoga class and get ready to drive from Pokhara to Nayapul which is about 1.5 hours drive and eventually trek to Tikhedhunga on a nice dirt road alongside beautiful river stream.

The beginning of the trek gives you glimpses of the Himalayan peaks but the rest of the day, you will enjoy the beauty of green mountain surroundings and local villages. Approximate distance - 14 kilometers; approximate trekking duration - five hours. You will spend the night at a comfortable guest house (called the tea house) at 1527 meters and evening meditation and dinner.

Day 4: Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani 2810 meters - breakfast/lunch/dinner

After breakfast at the tea house, you will start the trek of the day. Probably, the most difficult day of the trek given that the trail goes only higher in elevation. The first part of the trek is a steep upward walk for about two hours and then a gradual upward walk.

The walk on the stone-paved steps is a daring adventure early in the morning. The whole trail leads you through villages and forest to Ghorepani where your efforts will be rewarded with magnificent close-up views of the Himalaya (given the weather is clear).

Approximate distance - 18 kilometers. Approximate trekking duration - seven hours. You will stay the night at a guest house at 2810 meters and evening meditation and dinner.

Day 5: Ghorepani - Poon Hill 3210 meters - Tadapani 2700 meters - breakfast/lunch/dinner

Early morning hike to Poon Hill, the highlight of the trip, about 1.5 hours, to see the spectacular sunrise and the views of 10 different peaks. You will trek back to Ghorepani for the breakfast.

After enjoying the second mountain breakfast, you will trek to Tadapani, another great place to take in close up views of the Himalaya. It is a pleasant walk through a lush green forest. Eventually, you will stay the night at a guest house at 2700 meters and evening meditation and diner. Approximate distance - 14 kilometers; approximate trekking duration - six hours.

Day 6: Tadapani 2700 meters trek to Jhinu - breakfast/lunch/dinner

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra)

You are craving for yet another six hours of walk today. Today’s walk takes you through beautiful mountain civilization and some forested areas. You will also admire the meditative sound of the flowing river that we come across the trail.

When you reach today’s destination, Jhinu, you will take a short relaxing break and then get ready to go to take a refreshing natural hot spring bath. You will stay the night at a guest house at 2700 meters. And evening meditation and dinner. Approximate distance - 10 kilometers; approximate duration - six hours.

Day 07: Jhinu - Pokhara - breakfast/lunch

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra).

The last day of the trek in the mountain is also no less interesting than other days. After four hours of a beautiful scenic walk, you will take a jeep ride to Nayapul and another ride to Pokhara. Stay in Pokhara and evening meditation class.

Day 8: Pokhara exploration day - breakfast

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra).

Today is the day to explore Pokhara. You will go for boating on the lake and visit a temple in the middle of the lake. You will have free time to enjoy the beauty of Pokhara. You can take relaxing massage, spa treatment, and also adventure activities like Paragliding, ultralight flight, zip flyer, and more with an extra cost. Stay in Pokhara hotel and evening meditation class.

Day 9: Pokhara - Kathmandu - breakfast/dinner

  • 06:30 - 07:30 Prayer, warm-up exercise, Suryanamaskar, Yogasana, pranayama, Shanty Path (peace mantra).

You will drive back to Kathmandu today after breakfast. It will take about seven hours to reach Kathmandu. You can fly back with an extra cost.

Today is the last day of the Nepal Yoga Trek, so Himalayan Yoga Academy will transfer you to the airport for the departure or to city.
