During the training, you will stay in Heartwood Retreat Center. Heartwood offers dorm style housing that includes some private rooms, or four students to a room in the dorm housing. The yoga center is available 24/7 with a kitchen, lobby and living room, yoga library, and the grounds include a chakra meditation garden, medicine wheel, labyrinth, outdoor practice areas, and more. A hot tub is available for you after hours.
This course offers the same training outlined in the year-long program of Heartwood Retreat Center, yet organized in an immersion format. They offer comprehensive studies of yoga therapy and advanced anatomy and physiology studies, Trauma yoga, Bhagavad Gita, and advanced philosophy, Yin yoga, Chair yoga, yoga for seniors, Ayurveda, Restorative yoga, hands-on adjusts and props workshops, children's yoga, teaching modalities and effectiveness, planning, and implementing workshops, and retreats.
This program includes beach yoga day, full moon yoga studies, and subtle body healing techniques. Heartwood Retreat Center attends a drum circle and includes a few excursions as time allows, but this program is an immersion and most of your time is spent on the Heartwood property with your studies.
The Heartwood RYT-300 certification is a comprehensive Yoga Alliance Sanctioned 300-hour advanced training program for yoga teachers who have already received their RYT-200 certification and are now looking to dive deeper into yoga theory and philosophy as well as refine their communication and information base to enhance their teaching skills.
This is a powerful immersion with classes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends with three weekend days off to rest, visit Florida, or to simply relax at the retreat center. The program is geared to helping yoga professionals learn to make a viable career in health and wellness. This coursework expands the skill-set for yoga teachers preparing them to authentically teach a variety of specialty classes.
A comprehensive approach to yoga therapy deeply explores issues that can be addressed through yoga as a path to healing. Comprehensive units covering Restorative yoga, Yin yoga, Chair yoga, yoga for seniors prepare students to work with specialty subjects. An Ayurvedic approach to yoga training is emphasized with special emphasis on body types and constitutions and studying how the environment, astronomy, and season impact the physical systems.
The Bhavagad Gita a is studied to consider how ancient wisdom can be applied to life in the 21st century successfully and deepen our understanding of yoga's spiritual goals. The business of yoga is addressed to help teachers understand how to plan, implement, and execute programs and projects successfully as well. Children's yoga basics are explored to expand your qualifications and awareness to work with a greater range of audiences. Those wishing to become RCYT Yoga Alliance Certified may enroll in the level two RCYT for a half-price fee of 395 USD to fulfill all yoga alliance requirements for formal children's yoga certification.
Basic knowledge of Ayurveda gives you a holistic view of disease prevention and proper lifestyle choices as well as a complete understanding of subtle anatomy and its relationship to the cosmos. You will learn how the mind influences the body structure and to “body read”. Ayurvedic approaches to yoga add a new degree of awareness and teachers learn to adjust a practice to serve different body types and constitutions.
Since this level of training is specifically designed for yoga teachers rather than individuals who may just be exploring yoga teacher’s training for the purposes of self-growth, students who do not have applicable teaching experience to draw from will be provided opportunity to teach within Heartwood Retreat Center's program to gain more hands-on experience and to refine their communication and teaching skills.
Work projects include giving a one-hour yoga lecture, a three-hour yoga workshop, and participation with a small group to coordinate and deliver a full day yoga retreat, stretching the student's understanding of how to organize, plan, and teach a "bigger yoga experience."
This program is ideal for those wishing to make a career of yoga as it extends their capacity to deliver a greater range of yoga experiences to others. You will also discuss the "business of yoga" focusing on how to grow and develop a career in yoga. You will work on developing your original voice and unique style as a teacher.
A deeper understanding of yoga philosophy will be explored through Bagavad Gita studies to explore the spiritual goals and deeper meaning of yoga as a path to spiritual evolution. You will review yoga sutras as well as Upanishads to broaden their understanding of renowned spiritual teachings.
Several full certification days are devoted to diving deeply into specific specialty subjects to expand the range of understanding and the skill set of your students, some for unit one and others for unit two, the therapy unit. These include Chair yoga, yoga for seniors, Yin yoga, Trauma yoga, Restorative yoga. Partial day seminars will be allocated to advanced postures, sensory yoga, Acro yoga, and advanced meditation techniques. Two days are devoted to children's yoga, and you have the opportunity to sign up to take the second unit if you wish to become RCYT certified.
You will begin your unit with an in-depth look at learning modalities and how to be a stronger communicator. You will study the art of teaching to remind everyone that it is not just how much you know, but how gifted you are at sharing what you know with others that defines a truly inspirational and effective teacher. You will take a look at respected mentors in yoga today and discuss ethics of teaching.
Writing life mission statements guide your careers as well as help you determine your dharma and to use your yoga for a more authentic life as you begin your new, advanced training journey.

Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Ginny is an ERYT-500 yoga teacher, a certified yoga therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists, a Reiki Master and a trained Ayurveda counselor from the Kerala Institute, India, and a registered member of the National Ayurveda Medical Association. She is the director of Heartwood Yoga Center and Heartwood Retreat Center and the founder of the Florida Reiki Association, as well as Yoga for the Balanced Child, a YA certification program designed to qualify teachers to share yoga with children ages three-teen.
Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 (Yoga)
Denver is an ERYT-500 yoga teacher and certified children's yoga teacher who specializes in meditation, yoga therapy, yoga anatomy, and restorative yoga techniques. She is an advocate for positive body image awareness and creator of Full Bodied Yoga, a class designed to enhance self-acceptance and love. She works extensively with essential oils and crystals, incorporating energetic healing modalities to her practices. Denver is the owner of a company called Buddha body, that makes organic bath and body products, as well as a Jewelry Design company called Silver Siren.
This course will take place in Florida, USA. Heartwood is 30 minutes away from the Sarasota beaches. the number one beach in the US with pure white sand.
This yoga teacher training is located in Heartwood Retreat Center, Bradenton, Florida. Heartwood is a seven-acre private yoga retreat center, just off of highway 75 in Bradenton, Florida. The entire facility is on a crystal grid. A state of the art yoga center with kitchen, yoga library, art room, couches, and studio. It also features outdoor practice spaces, an award-winning meditation garden (featured as a competition winner in Country Gardens Magazine in fall 2016), labyrinth, medicine wheel, firepit, and more. It is state of the art yoga center.
Heartwood Retreat Center is located 20 minutes from the beach and you will spend one day studying at the beach (just to have a more expansive experience).
All food served at Heartwood is vegetarian, and Heartwood Retreat Center accommodates most dietary needs. The packages include breakfasts, lunches, and dinners as well as snacks and drinks.
