Vida Asana Eco-lodge is charming, rustic and gorgeous. It has a swimming pool, a lovely open-air dining room, and an awesome open-air yoga pavilion. The rooms are colorful and comfortable. Each room has air conditioning, a mini-fridge, a ceiling fan, and very comfy beds. The windows are generally open to feel the amazing breeze.

Program

During this retreat, you will experience the Pura Vida style where everything is laid back and easy. A day will include morning yoga, breakfast, lunch, lounge time, afternoon or evening yoga, and dinner. Other activities throughout the day might include a trip into town for a fresh coconut to drink, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, lounging on the beach, drinking a beer in the hammock, bird watching for parrots, or listening to the sounds of the jungle.

Rachel originally came to the mat in 2002 during her undergrad years at Rochester Institute of Technology because it was an incredible workout. Rachel has a love for travel, and every new place she visits, she tries out the local yoga class. She has practiced with Anusara, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Svaroopa, and Vinyasa teachers all over the country. She created Heart Thread Yoga in May 2014. Rachel has led five successful yoga retreats, in Costa Rica, and the Finger Lakes Wine region, and is super excited to be sharing her love and knowledge of yoga with her teacher trainees.

Retreat location

Vida Asana is tucked away in the rainforest, less than a mile from the beach, and blends perfectly with the jungle environment. Playa Hermosa is a quiet surfing community, located between the beach towns of Jaco and Manuel Antonio. This location allows guests to enjoy a wide range of activities, if they choose to venture off of the property.

Food

The food is very fresh, simple, and delicious. Breakfast is typically gallo pinto - their famous black beans and rice served with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit such as papaya, mango,and watermelon. Lunch and dinner can be fish tacos, fried plantains, avocado, or whole baked fish freshly caught. The cuisine is not typically spicy like Mexican, but hot sauce is easily found. Vida Asana prepares absolute deliciously yummy meals with fresh ingredients from their garden. Vegetarian and vegan options are easily available so let Heart Thread Yoga know if you are, or have any food allergies.
