  • Arrow Gonsalves

Arrow is the founder of Human Energetics, and the owner of Heart Drum Beat - Taoist Yoga and Healing Services and The House of Now - Wellness Center in Courtenay, British Columbia. She is a master trainer and healer in the Tao healing arts, trained through the Tao Fellowship of Seoul Korea via Sedona Arizona. With 13 years' experience in Taoist Instruction, Arrow offers Do-In (Taoist yoga class), true self development programs, retreats, workshop facilitation, instructor training, and traditional healer training. She helps people restore health and balance while awakening their innate being.

The retreat site is a 17-acre woods and meadow site situated on Hornby Island, located on the Georgia Strait off the east coast of Vancouver Island. It is a lovely mixture of groomed and natural setting, allowing for comfortable navigation and immersion in nature.

Hornby Island and specifically Tribune Bay Provincial Park, is an ideal location for an outdoor education facility offering four season experiential outdoor programs. Hornby Island has a moderate coastal climate, wide variety of marine, and land-based natural history sites and evidence of ancient human social interaction.

Tribune Bay Provincial Park has 200 acres of first and second growth forest, open meadow, and field areas and a kilometer of sandy beach that slopes gently into Tribune Bay, allowing the tidal waters to warm significantly in the summer.

Three daily meals are included in the price. Meals are healthy, varied, satisfying, and delicious. The menu will be primarily vegetarian (providing options with and without eggs and dairy) with a few fish and meat options available. With advance notice, special dietary conditions, such as gluten intolerance, will be mindfully considered during meal planning.

Aside from the included outdoor activities, after lunch, you can take an optional guided hike, take a trip to browse the Island market and galleries, or enjoy time to yourself or with a friend swimming, beach combing, and relaxing.

Holistic massages are available for an extra fee. Please let Heart Drum Beat know if you would like to book.

"Simply wonderful! Enriching, enlightening and informative! I realized that I am capable of anything and that the only limitation is in the mind. Once you can overcome the mind and awaken the inner truth, you can achieve anything. I would suggest this workshop to anyone looking to relieve stress or gain self reflection and awareness. Thank you Arrow!"

"A real treat. These training's benefit my life in clear, practical terms. I have learned through previous Heart Drum Beat practices and workshops that what I really want is purpose. One purpose or goal is to be the change I wish to see in this world. An action for me is to practice the methods of that change. I have awakened to the fact that I also wish to share these methods and that a positive way to do that is to grow my vitality and share the methods of change through the power of attraction. I must invest in my vitality; be clear on what does and does not serve and honor that through actions including changing habits. Food was great."

I plan to continue reviewing and building on these lessons through daily practice and meditation. I like the balance between philosophy and actions. The different facets that constitute meaningful practice."

"Our sense of reality can be so limited, especially when we don't stop to contemplate our purpose and existence. Through these lessons I am more aware of the essential being, essence and oneness that we all belong to. I am also more appreciative of my brain and all it has done for me! I will strive to complete my soul as much as I can in this lifetime and become one with the Tao. I loved the combination of exercise, meditation and instruction. Very wonderful! Thank you for sharing."

"I have attended classes for a month, four to five days a week, and in that short time, have noticed greatly increased energy and a sense of well-being. The instruction is professional, relaxing yet challenging, with a lot of information unfolding in the practice. I love it!"

"A year ago, I was diagnosed with early stage Parkinsons disease. The main symptoms were tremors in the right arm and leg, and loss of coordination such as swinging the right arm while walking. I started practicing at Heart Drum Beat a month ago and attended at least four classes per week. This week I had appointments with my neurologist and traditional Chinese medicine doctor. They both told me they saw an improvement over my last visit and the TCM doctor asked me what exercise I was doing. Overall, I feel more energetic and have regained coordination and flexibility."

"I appreciate deeply Arrows (human, humble, kind, loving, soft and strong) feminine approach to leading and teaching, responding to what shows up while maintaining the structured component of teachings. Arrows integration of her own devotion to her soul mission can only be taught in the manner it was delivered, by true surrender to her life chosen.I deeply feel blessed by your success in fulfilling and expressing your mission to give who you are and truly desire. Once remembered, cannot be forgotten - the truth is always calling.Thank you Arrow, from my heart."

"Thank you! Lovely mix of physical activities, nature emersion, lessons, relaxation, socializing, and reflection. Good scheduling! Lovely tone, accessible teachings and approach. The practical physical exercises and meditation techniques are tools for me to practice and grow the three bodies and connect to the soul. I know now how to seek answers from my soul, using these techniques. I will spend more time getting to know my soul. Arrow - you are relatable which gives me (and others) the inspiration to enter the realm of the possible."
