Strathean Retreat Centre is located on 10 beautiful acres of flat ground. The retreat center has some of the special features that you will find on the grounds. There is the totara forest where you can enjoy these majestic trees and their shade on a hot day in one of the meditation circles. At the back of the property is a long-standing fruit orchard, where you can explore it and see what is in season. Throughout the property are quiet spaces for you to pause, sit, and come into stillness. Amongst the totara forest, you can follow the Prakriti Path, enjoying the divine female energy in nature. They also grow organic vegetables in their veggie garden.

Strathean Retreat Centre has accommodation and dining facilities for up to 30 people, generally in twin or single rooms. They can increase numbers to 40 by using bunks. With prior notice, additional people may stay in motorhomes or caravans, or camp. They have extensive grounds for relaxing, walking, and taking time out amongst a totara forest, native trees, and a fruit orchard. They welcome groups who wish to deepen their connection to higher self, source, spirit, consciousness, God, or a deeper relationship with themselves.

There is also a meditation room and workshop. The meditation room is a private area that is available for anyone to use at any time, located at the back of Jyoti cottage. The workshop is an additional space that is also available for group work and workshops when requested in advance.

Creating a quiet and supportive environment, a group retreat is the best way to immerse yourself in self-inquiry and silence and reap the benefits of it. In the sessions of the retreat, there is a presentation of techniques from different meditation and mystical traditions and the time to practice them, inspirational talks sharing the vision of non-duality (Advaita Vedanta), and a daily Hridaya Hatha yoga practice to relax the body and harmonize its energies. This retreat is suitable both for beginners and for people with an established practice. The Hridaya approach makes it exciting and easy to fall in love with awareness.

Hridaya (meaning the spiritual heart) is a spiritual path based on the philosophy of non-duality, Advaita, and the teachings of the great Indian sage Ramana Maharishi. Nevertheless, it combines techniques from all authentic spiritual traditions (Buddhism, Sufism, yoga, and Christian mysticism) in order to provide a broad and comprehensive view of the search for the Self, a search that starts and ends in the heart. Hridaya meditation has proven benefits on all levels of human being such as physical health, mental clarity, emotional release, deeper self-knowledge, life, lived in alignment with your innermost truth, and an open heart.
