This retreat is your opportunity to combine yoga practice with traditional Chinese medicine, the yin-yang philosophy, and the five elements theory. This ancient wisdom points us directions to follow in order to effectively harvest the benefit of our mindful practice. Enjoy a tailor-made itinerary to focus on one element each day (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, and Fire), including yoga practice, meals, special activities to let you dwell into the profound knowledge of each element. You will learn in a practical and relaxing way to embrace the nature of this island of "Joy", in Gozo.
You will be staying at Ta' Nisju (Om Farmhouse), a traditional yet modern inviting farmhouse with a classical interior Maltese style design in the middle of Victoria, Gozo, Malta. There are four bedrooms, either queen beds or twin beds. The internal yard is converted into a therapy room, and you will practice Qigong and yoga on the terrace.
During this retreat, you will learn about the five elements with special activities each day. You will enjoy two yoga classes daily and experience a workshop for each element per day. You will dwell into the profound knowledge of the five elements: earth, metal, water, wood, and fire.
Throughout the retreat, you will enjoy sightseeing across Gozo, swim at Ramla Bay or take a boat trip to Comino Island (at your own cost), and hikes in nature.
Sean finished his Bachelor degree in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and his Master degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science in Hong Kong more than 10 years ago. He is specialized in treating pain, energy imbalance and releasing emotional blockage using acupuncture and massage. He also believes in the medicinal power of Food we eat everyday. Sean is a E-RYT 200 and RYT 500 Yoga Alliance Teacher, he teaches in various countries, focusing on Hatha yoga and Yin yoga. He also took an advanced course on Aerial yoga in Thailand. He is also a Qigong teacher and a Reiki Master.
The accommodation is situated in the heart of the Gozo island and it still retains its character of traditional classical Maltese building style. The main bus station is five minutes away by walking from the accommodation. From there, you can take any bus you want.
You will enjoy three yogic meals daily (breakfast, nutritious yogic smoothies, and a light dinner) with fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. The professional chef will make sure your guts and taste buds are well-catered, and there will be a twist on the food according to the element of the day. Special dietary requirements can be arranged.
