During this teacher training program, you will be staying at Hotel Once Again in Rishikesh. It is a 15-room building with power backup and Wi-Fi.

The school building is newly constructed finished in January 2019. There are two indoor yoga halls, a dining area, and rooftop.

There are shared or private rooms with attached toilets with hot showers and a balcony. It has laundry service and filtered drinking water. Hatha Yoga World offers bed sheets, pillows, toilet paper (1 at arrival), blanket and other basic amenities.



Students who complete their training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).


Hatha Yoga World wants students to graduate as teachers who are highly confident in giving instructions, performing demonstrations, and making hands-on adjustments. The program focuses on providing you with opportunities to develop your skills as both a teacher and student. Each day is devoted to attending lectures and gaining knowledge about philosophy, anatomy, and daily you will have an hour devoted toward gaining practical experience making adjustments, either as corrections or to send a student deeper into a pose.

Different meditation techniques will be introduced like

Pranayama is breath techniques. The word 'prana' means 'life force'. Topics covered are an introduction to pranayama, benefits of pranayama, and an explanation of the pranic body. You will be introduced to different pranayama exercises like:

  • Nadishodhana pranayama

  • Ujjayi pranayama
  • Bhastrika pranayama
  • Kapalbhati pranayama


You will learn different energy locks, preparation to perform these and benefits. Bandhas covered:

Kriyas are cleansing techniques used to purify the body. The purpose of these cleansing techniques is to keep the body strong, clean and healthy as they remove toxins and blockages in the body which makes a meditation practice more effortless since no discomfort or fatigue is a distraction for the mind. Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is the oldest form of yoga which emphasizes the balance of the body and mind. It is a way of purifying the body and awakening pranic energy within which is described in ancient Indian Vedic texts. In recent years, it has become more and more popular as a great way of improving wellness and as a form of treatment for many ailments.

The classes are based on ancient traditional yoga and lead by a very experienced teacher. The instructor will explain and teach the correct alignment of poses, correct usage of props, including benefits of using props, how to assist others and correct various faults, the benefits of each pose, and other various benefits of yoga.

The classes also include sequencing. During the course, there will be a strong emphasis on developing good alignment skills in each student along with the knowledge of each asana.  Classes are held from Mondays to Saturdays from 06:30 to 19:00.

Hatha Vinyasa

Hatha Vinyasa is a mixture of the traditional practice of Hatha and flow. In these classes, you flow from one asana to the next in coordination with the breath. The intention behind the movement and how you move is an important aspect and will leave the practitioner with a different out of body experience. The body flows and so does the prana.


Yin yoga is the opposite of the other Yang practices which is often associated with yoga. In Yin Yoga, the students are invited to stay in the pose for a long period of time to stretch the connective tissue. This form of practice is very meditative and is a great way to compliment any other form of yoga.

Yoga anatomy

Anatomy classes expose the internal body and how it works with bones, joints, and inner systems which affect how an asana is performed. The basic structure and function of the organs, system and how yoga affects your body is an important aspect for students to know when becoming a teacher of Yoga. Gaining knowledge about the joints and their range of motions helps students to be safe from injuries and also guide their own students in and out of an asana safely when teaching. In these classes you'll learn:

  • An example of your day would be waking up and cleanse with neti kriya
  • After you attend the pranayama class and practice, breathing techniques
  • After pranayama, you have your morning Hatha yoga asana class with a focus on alignment and adjustments
  • After the asana practice, it is time for a tasty and nourishing breakfast
  • The next classes will be interesting lectures in anatomy and yogic philosophy
  • Lunch will be served after the lectures and thereafter you have some time to rest and digest
  • In the afternoon, you will join a class called The Art of Alignment and Adjustment
  • This one-hour class is dedicated to a breakdown of each pose, to understand how it should be practiced properly to gain the full benefits
  • You will also learn how to adjust hands-on
  • After that, you will have an afternoon Hatha Vinyasa or Yin yoga asana practice

When doing an intense course like teacher training, it is especially important to nurture oneself with nutritious fuel for the body and mind. To do Yoga asanas is not enough on its own, the lifestyle has to be yogic as well and then, transformation is felt. You are what you eat, it affects your mood and ways of thinking. In yoga, it is recommended to eat a Satvik diet, which means eating food which makes you feel light and energetic. At Hatha Yoga World the meals served will be Satvik to purify the body and therefore also the mind.

Hatha Yoga World has a talented and passionate chef who will provide fresh meals cooked with love. The energy from the one cooking should be good and kind since this also affects the prana in the food.

In Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, it is emphasized to eat at the same time every day. With busy lifestyles, it can be difficult. At Hatha Yoga World, the meals are set at specific times with regular intervals to support the natural rhythm of the body.

Arrival by plane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). From here you can take a domestic flight to Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun (DED). From here you can take a 45 min taxi ride to the Hatha Yoga World School. If you would like the Hatha Yoga World school to arrange a taxi, please contact them one week before arrival.

Arrival by bus

From the Delhi airport get a taxi to Delhi bus station from where you can get a government or private transportation to Rishikesh. Upon arrival at Rishikesh bus station, you can take a taxi or rickshaw to our school.

Arrival by train

The nearest railway station is Haridwar train station. From there you will find many buses, taxis and other transportation services that will bring you to Rishikesh. If you would like the Hatha Yoga World school to arrange a taxi, please contact them one week before arrival.
