The campus, Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort is wonderfully described on their website, "Under a grove of oak and pine in our own small valley with a stream, the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort offers a magical scene with cabins on stilts dotting the mountainside where walking is part of the experience."

This old camp dates from the 1930s and they now offer private hotel-style rooms in cabins, tent cabins, hostel cabins, house rentals along with group facilities, a health spa, and a highly regarded restaurant. You will encounter backpackers, young families, and outdoor adventurers in this fun place just 27 miles downstream from Yosemite Valley itself.

Program

This training is designed to help you connect with and nurture your inner child through play, adventure, movement, and nature. You will explore ancient teachings with dance, painting, journaling, and Dynamic yoga. Gypsea Yoga School (based in Costa Rica) has partnered with Yogasemite to create a unique and immersive YTT in the magical landscape of Sierra Nevada.

Yogasemite's founder, Cassidy Ellice, graduated from Gypsea Yoga School and works as a lead facilitator for their 200-hour trainings. Cassidy wanted to bring the powerful curriculum and immersion training to the beautiful place she calls home, Yosemite. The 200-hour YTT program is perfect for mountain-loving, free-spirited, down-to-earth, yoga enthusiasts who want to become certified to teach. An intensive course that builds a solid foundation for you to enter into the yoga world and incorporates a deep connection to nature with outdoor adventure.

Embark on an inward journey of self-actualization to find your true purpose through ancient yoga teachings, introspection, and self-love. Learn about samadhi (universal oneness) by connecting deeply with nature, learning about Yosemite, local fauna and flora, and adventure. Go sky-diving, white water rafting (seasonal), hiking, star-gazing, and explore magnificent waterfalls or Giant Sequoias in Yosemite on your days off!

You will honor yoga as a path through which everyone can become their most divine selves. Embarking on this journey means a quest for self-knowledge, love, and freedom. The school is committed to raising the collective consciousness through meditation, breath, movement, and service.

Retreat location

The Yosemite Bug Hostel is nestled in the Sierra Foothills, a rustic resort tucked away in the hills, a short drive to the western gateway of Yosemite National Park. Midpines is a rural mountain area located outside the western entrance to Yosemite National Park. It is notable for being in close proximity to the Merced River and was home to many gold miners during the gold rush.

This area possesses great charm in an unspoiled and rugged atmosphere. With oak trees swaying in the wind, providing shady relief from the intense California sun to swimming holes carved in rock, this place is a Wild West dreamscape. Midpines' most appealing attribute is to be close to Yosemite without having to stay in the park itself. Yosemite is one of the nation’s most iconic and breathtaking national parks, home to some of the best rock climbing and hiking in the world!
