An oasis of peace

This oasis of peace is located on the quiet and scenic beach of Weligama and owns two large yoga shala's. One at the first level for the morning yoga, meditation & breathwork practice and one on the rooftop to end the day with yoga and remarkable sunset.

The south of Sri Lanka is the perfect place to find inner peace, strengthen your body with yoga, and go surfing. Or you can reconnect with yourself through breathing exercises (breathwork), Reiki, massages, and Ayurvedic treatments and also treat yourself with delicious vegan and energetic food. The Green Peace Inn team gives all of its passion, skills, and knowledge for holistic health, yoga, hospitality, and delicious fresh vegan food to create a special place for like-minded people.

In this seven-day New Year Yoga and Breathwork Retreat, you will come together to work on yourself with yoga, breathwork, meditation, workshops, journaling, and healthy plant-based food. It is a unique opportunity to make a change for the coming year.

Green Peace Inn Retreats will use:

Breathwork

Breathwork can be described as a portal and door to your internal and external worlds. In one session, you can give space, expansion, and opportunity for shifts, movement, insights, change, and the chance to come back to your body that holds you so dearly and work non-stop so that you may exist here and now. Let's say thank you by giving your body its most nutrient superfood - air.

Sample daily schedule

  • 07:00 - 09:00 2-hour Hatha or Vinyasa yoga class with pranayama and meditation or 75 minutes Hatha or Vinyasa yoga class and two-hour breathwork
  • 09:30 - 10:00 Plant-based healthy breakfast
  • 14:00 - 14:30 Fruit plate
  • 12:00 - 17:00 Talks/massages/workshops/treatments or free time. During the afternoon, there will be some days for active meditation, guided group talks, and workshops. On a free afternoon, you have time for massages or relax on the beach or read a book
  • 17:00 - 18:30 Sunset Yin yoga or Hatha class on the rooftop with ocean view
  • 19:00 - 20:15 Plant-based healthy dinner
  • 20:30 - 21:00 Meditation (not daily)

At these retreats, you will have one or two extra yoga teachers who will cover some classes. The retreat starts with a welcome drink and snack and gathering at 3:30 p.m. on the day of arrival and ends after breakfast at 11 a.m. on the date of departure.

This retreat will take place in Weligama, Sri Lanka. The retreat center Green Peace Inn is located on a quiet stretch of the Weligama beach and is still centrally located so that you can get to the city center within three minutes by tuk-tuk. Sri Lanka is the home of Ayurveda one of the oldest healing systems, which believes wellness depends on a balance between mind, body, and spirit.

Food

During this retreat, you will be provided with seven plant-based healthy breakfasts, five fruit plates in the afternoon, and seven wholesome plant-based dinners. Unlimited drinking water and organic tea will also be provided. Green Peace Inn Retreats has made every effort to create a vegan, sugar-free, gluten-free menu, using mostly organic locally sourced & seasonal ingredients.

Things to do (optional)

  • Only a 10-minute drive is a fantastic Ayurvedic spa, where you can get full-body massages, Shirodhara, and other Ayurvedic treatments
  • The old City of Galle is only 40 minutes away, which can you can visit in the afternoon. There is the option to go to a national park with a private driver, but this takes the whole day
  • Visit a Cinnamon Farm and see how Cinnamon grows and is processed. Smell, feel and taste real Cinnamon (10 minutes’ drive)
  • Make a boat safari and visit the bird, temple, and Cinnamon Island (25 minutes’ drive)
  • You can visit the Turtle farm very close to Green Peace Inn (30 minutes’ drive)
  • Many operators who offer whale watching tours, where you see blue whales and many dolphins (10 minutes’ drive)
  • Stand up paddling tours on a river in the jungle or along the coast
  • You can visit a Ceylon black tea field with the tea factory (30 minutes away)
  • Only 10 minutes from your accommodation is a dive school, which offers a different kind of dives
  • Only 10 to 30 minutes from Green Peach Inn are different spots where you can snorkel with turtles
  • Go to Mirissa (10 minutes away) for a day at the beach with many restaurants and bars
  • Around Green Peace Inn are several surf spots for beginners and advanced surfers from a walking distance to a 10-minute drive. You can go surfing by yourself, or you can do a surf lesson and learn to surf at one of the best beginner surf beaches

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). Transfers are available at an additional cost of 60 EUR.

Arrival by train

Take a train from Colombo Fort to Weligama, Sri Lanka, and then take a TukTuk to Green Peace Inn.

Arrival by bus

Take the Highway Bus to Galle or Matara and then a public bus or TukTuk to Weligama.
