Self-Connect India Yoga Retreat

Join this retreat which combines yoga and mindfulness meditation to give you the tools to make that body mind connection. It will help you create deeper connections with yourself and others. Each day will begin in silence and gently moves into movement with yoga, discussion, and workshops. There will be plenty of time for both yoga, self-exploration, and of course, sun, food, pampering, fun, and some planned group excursions.

Bamboo Yoga Retreat offers bamboo beach bungalows which are designed to blend with the natural surroundings. You can watch the eagles soar overhead from the hammock on your balcony or falling asleep to the sound of the waves.

Each bungalow beach hut has one double or two single beds with comfortable European style mattresses, good linens, and mosquito netting set in a spacious airy room with plenty of room to hang your clothes and store your belongings.

It is constructed to make use of the natural ventilation from the cooling sea breeze and has ceiling fans for more typical tropical times of year. Attached bathrooms with western style toilets are open to the sky for the magical experience of showering under the stars.

You can choose to stay at Beachfront Sunset Bungalow, Ocean Mountain Bungalow, or Ocean Temple Bungalow, which is quieter at night with its peaceful garden setting.

You can book a private room to share with a friend. Regular housekeeping is available with fresh linens on request. The bungalows can be locked when you go out and free Wi-Fi is available in the lounge area.

This retreat is suitable for all levels of practice and will be facilitated by Shannon Barry and Lisa Ball. They will provide a true Yin Yang experience. It will begin with energetic and lively morning practices of Vinyasa flow yoga while the evenings will take participants through gentler yet deeply nourishing Yin yoga classes.

Both Shannon and Lisa will also deliver workshops on pranayama, meridian theory, and other helpful topics to enhance your yoga practice from this retreat and beyond.

This retreat will provide a boat trip, spice field, and waterfall experiences for you.

    Shannon started his Hot yoga journey with Bikram yoga. His curiosity heightened over the years until he discovered the diversity and freedom that is Moksha Yoga (Canada).

This retreat will take place at Bamboo Yoga Retreat. It stands proudly at the end of the white sandy beach of Patnem, South Goa. Considered one of the most amazing spaces to practice yoga in Goa, the open-air shalas have soul-feeding views over Patnem Beach and out to sea, whilst the temple and garden shala’s spiritual atmosphere is ideal for restoration and growth.

At Bamboo Yoga Retreat, you will be served daily breakfast and buffet brunch. The restaurant focuses on healthy locally source and organic food wherever possible as well as international cooking by the team of highly trained passionate chefs. If you have special dietary requirements or just don’t like spicy food, please let Bamboo Yoga Retreat know.


To start your day, Bamboo Yoga Retreat prepares a freshly squeezed juice of the day, which could be watermelon and ginger, or pineapple lemon and mint, to cleanse your body and give you an energy boost for your sun salutations. There is also a big fresh tropical fruit salad every morning.


A big brunch is served after the morning yoga session, homemade yoghurt, local Goa breads, eggs and muesli, with some Indian inspired vegetable dishes and salads for those who’ve built up an appetite with their exertions. Then, this is followed by time to relax and watch the waves from the beachside lounge with a herbal tea or Indian chai.


This will be served at 3 p.m. Bamboo Yoga Retreat will serve a selection of teas and locally baked cookies in the afternoon before your yoga class to give you an energy boost.

Additional meals

A selection of snacks, salads, super juices, and smoothies are available all day at the restaurant along with daily specials based around seasonal produce from the local market. For dinner, the menu changes daily and includes delicious Indian and Asian vegetarian dishes. Salads, fresh sustainable fish, and seafood are also possible to order on the day.

Dinner can be ordered a la carte or there is a big buffet in the restaurant if you are on retreat. Special meals around a communal table will be held every week for yoga holidays and they also put table on the beach under the stars for special occasions.

The menu which can work with your program, whether supporting weight loss, detoxing the body, or focusing on raw food is also available. Bamboo Yoga Retreat offers refillable mineral water to eliminate plastic bottle waste and use filtered water in the kitchen.
