Overview – Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh

With the yoga teacher training program, keeping a clear understanding of the ancient traditional science of yoga and spirituality, Govindam Yoga brings back the essence of Karm Yoga, Gyaan Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga. The holistic approach enables practitioners to extend their reach from the yoga mat and explore the missing link that connects the self to the supreme.

Syllabus – 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

The course and curriculum have been developed and designed to achieve physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual wellness. This holistic approach will help the practitioner (yoga sadhak) attain harmony of the body, mind, and soul. The fundamentals of the traditional yoga system guide the needs of a beginner, an intermediate, and an advanced-level practitioner.

Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga Asana

A classic sequence of the Hatha and Ashtanga Asanas series to begin the journey from the gross body (Annamaya Kosha). Asana is one of the most important limbs of yoga. Pawan Mukta Asana series, Sun Salutation series, and other yoga Asanas series will be practiced with alignment, adjustment, and modification.

Pranayama and Shatkarma

After the Annamaya Kosh, you move to the Pranamaya Kosha, and that is where the practices of Pranayama help to clear the subtle body. Shatkarma is a process of cleansing the impurities from the body to keep a healthy body. Pranayama (breathing practice) is considered to be the primary stage of meditation.

Anatomy and Physiology

Learning the functional aspects of our body muscles, joints, and bones, has a unique place in yoga practices. The working of the human respiratory system, digestive system, muscular system, and skeletal system will be covered in the yoga anatomy and physiology sessions.

Classical Yoga Philosophy

Yoga with philosophy mix in a much better way. Yoga is an ancient Vedic philosophy connecting the jiva (soul) to the Paramatma (supreme). In philosophy, the origin of yoga, the eightfold system of yoga along with other forms of yoga will be discussed.

Meditation and Mantra Chanting

Meditation, as the most important limb of yoga, works on the Manomaya Kosha which is even subtler than the Pranamaya Kosha. Along with meditation, you will learn to chant mantras, which are a more powerful tool to control the mind.

Ayurveda and Healthy Living

Ayurveda is an ancient Vedic science of healing that comes from Atharvaveda. Ayurveda is an eternal science to live a healthy lifestyle by knowing and purifying the different constituents of the human body.

Schedule – 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

The 200-hour yoga teacher training program follows a disciplined schedule to complete the course in the given time frame. On a daily basis, almost 8 to 9 hours are assigned to the teachings, training, and practices of yoga. The mornings can begin as early as 5:00 a.m. to begin with the yoga practices around 5:30 a.m.

Daily self-study (Svaddhyaay) and assignments are also part of the yoga training program to gain in-depth knowledge of the subject. Sleeping early around 9:30 p.m. is advised as a part of yogic practice. Please find the tentative scheduling, which may slightly vary as per the current situation and other factors, and is subject to change. The yoga classes will run for 6 days a week (Mon-Sat), with an off day on Sunday.
