Accommodations at Itha108 are luxurious and very comfortable. Double ensuite bedrooms can be availed as well as Mongolian yurts that staggered up between rocks, forestry and winding walkways.

Your typical day

Yoga classes will take place twice daily with dynamic morning classes that mindfully build in intensity moving into a strong, sweaty yet alignment-based Vinyasa flow, cumulating in a blissful relaxation. In the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to explore quieter practices, from restorative yoga where props are used to support the body to open, yield and release tension and holding, to meditation and yoga nidra where you will have time to explore your rich inner landscapes and give overworked nervous systems some serious TLC and much needed rebalancing.

Nahid de Belgeonne

Nahid has a diverse creative background. She set up her first business in her twenties selling fashion accessories to Browns, Barneys in NY and Japan as well as The Conran Shop. She went back to college to study for a Masters degree in Computer Science, learning to program in her thirties, and was one of the founding team of four who set up Scarlet magazine. Combining her creative background with her business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit she opened up the first Good Vibes studio in October 2006, leading Londoners into a new era of fitness as a lifestyle.

The common thread throughout her career is that she has always engaged in activities, both physical and mental, to ensure she keeps performing to her optimal level. She says I started running when I wanted to leave home. I started kick boxing when I left my first marriage, yoga when I changed careers and restorative and yoga nidra to bring myself back to good health after an illness. Fitness is more than achieving an ideal body shape. It is all about managing changes in your life while staying emotionally resilient. You only get one body so the Good Vibes message it to respect it, live fully in it and enjoy it!

Ruth McNeil

Ruth is a lifelong yoga practitioner and an experienced British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher. Ruth trained at the Yoga Academy, Kent and in addition has completed a restorative and yin yoga intensive with Simon Low. Pilates has become integral to her own practice and Ruth is a qualified Pilates teacher with the leaders in intelligent movement and rehabilitation, Polestar Pilates UK. Ruth teaches Vinyasa flow, restorative yoga and mat Pilates and is passionate about sharing these holistic movement modalities with you. It has been Ruths experience that these practices develop our ability to experience life fully, with strength, ease, gratitude, joy and compassion.

Ithaca, home of this retreats venue, Itha108, is one of the smallest in the Ionian island constellation that is radiating with Grecian authenticity. Its shores play host to a long Homeric and mythical history whose many mysteries are sensed amongst animated panorama and secretive coves. Itha108 overlooks the sea and the eastern coastline of neighboring Kefalonia from an elevated wilderness of olive trees and exposed rocks that provide the elements around which it is built, allowing its natural beauty to speak for itself. An emphasis on indoor-outdoor living ensures full use of the land and its treasures that extend to sweeping and hidden beaches below.

Food at Itha108 is fresh, sumptuous and made up of local produce. All vegetables are organic and sourced from the best of what Ithaca and neighboring Kefalonia has to offer. Plentiful, home-cooked menus blend traditional Greek cuisine with a contemporary style. For the retreats, mainly vegetarian food is promoted, although freshly caught fish is available on request.

Arrival by airplane

Book your flight to Cephalonia Airport (CFL).

From there, sea taxi's can be arranged to take you to Ithaca as well as drivers either side. Aim for a flight to arrive in Cephalonia around by midday on Saturday and a midday flight going back.

The Yang and Yin session by Nahid on Sunday morning is a great way to relax for the rest of the day and be energised for the week ahead.
