The Beach villa brings outdoor nature into the rooms, Golden Waves Surf Lodge used the warmest organic material in their craftsmanship which is raw wood. Sustainability never looked better. You can feel the creativity and love we put into this magic place. Lounge area with a king-size sofa in front of the fireplace and an extra-long dining table invites you to share good times together. Each room is individually decorated for you to feel home away from home. The beautiful garden is blessed with old pine trees and reflects the special tranquility of the natural surrounding. To guarantee your best sleep after a day of surf, yoga and nature, high-quality comfort mattresses and superior bed linen will be provided. Plenty of storage space and personal safes for each guest. Your room will be soundproof and have central heating as well as blackout curtains. Guests can use the common kitchen area to prepare their own meals, as well as the outdoor barbecue facilities. You will enjoy this unique experience including eight yoga sessions with internationally known yoga instructors and six surf sessions / 12 hours of pure surfing with licensed local Instructors
Beginner
A step-by-step introduction to the art of surfing. Golden Waves will show you how to understand the ocean and you will experience your first contact with the water and its energy. The surf instructors will be your reliable buddies and help you to gain confidence. Of course, you will ride your first wave and get an idea of this passion only a surfer can know.
Intermediate
The intermediate course helps you to improve your surf skills. You will build up surf fitness, increase your amount of catching waves and focus on your Ocean awareness. Learn new techniques and improve old habits. Develop your own style and flow.
Yoga
The charming yoga instructors will soothe your surfed-out body in the evenings with restorative Yin relaxation and recovery practices before sunset. Relax completely in the tasteful indoor yoga studio.
The time between can be filled with getting connected in the garden, ocean walks on kilometers of empty wild beaches, free bike riding on Portugal's best bike trail network, professional deep tissue massages, a huge treasure of culture to explore, enjoying delicious Portuguese food or simply sunbathing at the outdoor pool area with sun beds, shower, and restrooms.

Pedro Melo
Pedro will be your reliable buddy in the water while you are catching your first waves. As a passionate surfer since 30 years and professional surf instructor, certified by the Portuguese Federation of Surf, he is very experienced in the Atlantic waves and many more surf breaks around the world. He was within the best 16 surfers in Portugal in 2006 and a regional champ. Known for his powerful style in surfing, his goal is to share this precious ocean knowledge with you and to help you on your journey of surfing while sharing some of his life wisdom.
Benjamin Frayce
Dedicated yoga practitioner, he has always prioritized personal practice and learning, both for himself and for teaching. The journey through awareness and inner exploration took him far beyond the mat. He feels deeply inspired to share, helping others to discover their own healing journey through yoga, just as it has worked through him. Passionate about the traditional paths of yoga from India, this is why he teaches yoga and Indian philosophy, and why he also plays Indian classical music.
Carla Fezzi
Yoga has always been a part of her life; it was an experience that revolutionized her entire being because yoga changed the way she sees the world and the events that occur in our daily lives. Yoga has been and is a fundamental tool in her life for getting to know herself better each day, respecting oneself, honoring rhythms, accepting sensations and feelings, and observing them without judgment because everything that happens is okay.
Mariana Martins
Mariana studied Design and Marketing Management at Porto University and worked in the industry for many, many years. But that didn’t make sense to her, she needed to find a project that she could not only work, but fully LIVE. As a real local she is keen to show visitors how beautiful Portuguese culture is, as a passionate Yogi and teacher herself, it came just naturally to her to lead our Golden Waves Surf and Yoga Ressort, where she can finally unite all her knowledge, skills and love for yoga, surf and the people. You will feel it.
Retreat location
Your surf camp will take place in Furadouro, Portugal. Just 30 kilometers from Porto by the coast is Furadouro, a picturesque seaside village nestled between endless beaches, the nature park of Maceda Pine Forest, and the Lagoon Ria de Aveiro.
The lodge is perfect for surfers as it is just a short walk to the spot Praia da Furadouro with uncrowded peaks and a great base for exploring excellent waves around. Within a stretch of 15 kilometers of coastline, there are more than 25 waves to be surfed. Bring body and mind together. Embraced by the tranquility of the Zen garden, surrounded by lush pine trees. While the birds are singing in the pine trees enjoy a relaxing yin yoga session in our beautiful yoga studio. The perfect combination, Ocean and Earth.
All year around this location receives swells, pleasant water temperatures, and 300 days of sunshine. Surf for every level, each swell and wind directions, there is always an option. The historic center has cafes, bars, nightlife superb restaurants and all you need for your catering.
