You will have plenty of time to do yoga asanas, meditation, chakra guided imagery, and have fun with the unique creative workshops, social events, and food from a medley of cultures. Your me-time will be letting your hair down in the gleaming white and red sand beaches, sunbathing, snorkeling, kayaking, and diving in the glowing periwinkle sea. The walk trails reveal outstanding sea views, dramatic cliffs, diversity of habitats, and archaeological remains.
Located in the ideal place to unplug, slow down that fast pace, and get back in touch with nature, this retreat allows you to feel utterly safe, welcome, and cared for. This is a chance to restore clarity of mind and heart, recover from a long period of stressful work or family situations, and enjoy an amazing escape if you’re feeling stressed, tired, overworked, or just need a week to relax.
On this retreat, you may have a wonderful time learning a different practice than your own, take some time to focus on you, your yoga practice, and your inner awareness, get a strong foundation to continue your own practice, and get healthy again in body and mind.
You will arrive at your own convenience to Globetrotter Homestay (your retreat center) in the heart of Ghajnsielem, Gozo. On-site facilitators, Sunitha and Vasco (Siddharta), and the selected team will welcome you with herbal tea or fresh fruit juice.
You may choose to rest in the comfort of your room, start your exploration of Gozo, and / or mingle with the other Globetrotters. The welcome dinner will be served at around sunset, offering a healthy and nutritious array of local foods.

Expand: What you seek is seeking you; respond to every call that excites your spirit (Rumi)
You will have a nutritious breakfast and check out.
The yoga sessions are designed as workshops rather than class format. The main yoga teacher, Siddharta, has trained in various yoga styles and has also worked as a yoga therapist so please utilize him as best as you can. Globetrotters Homestay Retreats may also have yoga teachers from Malta just for the day and some loving local yogini and yogis sharing their knowledge. Let’s hope. The sample are Pawanamuktasan yoga series 1, 2, and 3, Hatha, Sivananda, Astanga, Flow, Tantric, Restorative, Chair, creative, and much more.
The workshops are based on the principle of “low skills and high sensitivity” so they are designed for you to unleash the creative you and play with performing and artistic modalities without specific artistic skills.
You will be preparing wholesome delicious dinners together. Don’t worry, Sunitha, a food lover and connoisseur will be facilitating the process of preparing exotic meals. As a sampler is a Moroccan couscous, Indian curries, Maltese Qarabaghli mimli bil-kapuljat (quite a mouthful!), and Italian grandma’s secret dishes.
These fun gatherings are designed for us to celebrate, enjoy, and have lots of loving fun. Please note that you may have some local friends (Tantric teachers, yogi, yoginis, artists, and musicians) that may surprise you with their visit and bless you with their healing and loving presence.
Note: During breakfast, it is encouraged for people to interact with each other and organize a group activity such as hiking, swimming, sightseeing, and other outdoor activities. However, you can enjoy on your own.
This retreat will take place in Gozo, Malta. Your first introduction to Gozo, Malta’s stunning sister island, will be the short ferry ride where you will take in breathtaking vistas of Comino and imposing cathedrals and watchtowers overlooking Mgarr Harbour. Globetrotter Homestay is located in Għajnsielem, meaning "peaceful spring" and the first Gozitan Village that greets the visitor on leaving Mġarr Harbour towards the Gozitan heartland.
Sunitha and Siddharta welcome you to Gozo, the mystical island with legends and folklores of the valiant templars, love sick Greek Gods, the siren of the sea Calypso, ancient feminine goddesses, all set against the backdrop of ancient temples, and dramatic coastline. You can explore your creativity while soaking in the thousands of years old Ggantija temple dedicated to the feminine goddess and with stones so huge the locals believed they were built by giants.
You can also immerse yourself in the practice of yoga in the silence of the rugged countryside among the wild iris and gladioli, crushing mountain thyme under our feet. Expand your meditation practice sitting inside a crystal cave catching whispers of the sea beyond. Let your hair down at the mocktail party and Pyjama pow-wow while dancing to the bells tolling from the rotundas of majestic churches.
Eat the Gozitan specialities like ravioli stuffed with goat cheese, fish tart, and rabbit stew in one of the many rustic bars and restaurants serving traditional food. Nourish your body and soul with good food and local wine while discovering some of Gozo’s very own sheep milk cheeses known as gbejniet, the melt-in-the-mouth savory pastries called pastizzi, or the simple tomatoes ripened by the Mediterranean sun.
Meet Gozitans who show you what’s possible and inspire you to do the things most only talk about. Run on local time GMT or "Gozo Maybe Time", which sounds just about the right pace for an unforgettable getaway retreat.
An extract from Lonely Planet says that Gozo is a gloriously pretty island, with what the 19th-century nonsense poet Edward Lear called a 'pomskizillious and gromphibberous' landscape. He coined the words especially, looking for a way to describe the island's fairy-tale hillocks topped by enormous churches, its hidden, glittering coves, and its sculptured coastal cliffs.
Gozo is a lovely place to kick back, with sandy beaches, rocky coves, excellent scuba diving, snorkeling, and kayaking and offering plenty of stamina activities such as rock climbing, cave diving, and hiking.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all. Sunitha will bring this favorite philosophy to all the meals that will be offered at the retreat. Breakfasts and dinners will be prepared sourcing, whenever possible, local and organic food. Special dietary requests can be accommodated. You are welcome to volunteer in the preparation of food for breakfast and learn some of the secret recipes to take back home.
Lunch is not provided but you are welcome to use the communal kitchen to prepare your meals or try the local food in one of the local restaurants. Herbal teas (some from faraway lands, some with unpronounceable names!), smoothies, and organic coffee will be also offered at specific times.
Dinner time will provide the opportunity for the group to gather and prepare together food, creating a feeling of community and bonding. All meals will be mainly vegetarian with some seafood options (if agreed upon).
