Join a super lovely kitesurfing and yoga retreat in a newfound paradise, Zanzibar! It has pearly white sandy beaches, 27-degree turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, palm trees, friendly people, and especially the kite conditions for every level. In this inclusive retreat, think of what you will wear and how to relax from the moment you leave the plane!
You will stay at a small ecological hotel near the beach, 500 meters from the Kitecentre. The cozy accommodation offers everything you need during your stay at Paje Village, including a friendly staff. There are single and two or three-person rooms available.
The program consists of daily activities of kitesurfing and morning yoga session. You will enjoy epic downwinder along the reef, down the coast, and out to the exotic island of Mnemba. The instructor will guide while providing you with a clear visual image of proper kitesurfing techniques to achieve all your kiting desires. Get away from crowds and experience the freedom of open waters.
You will discover all the board sports and learn to practice them in a safe environment. Thanks to the trick clinics and video analysis created by the professional instructors, it is possible for both beginners and advanced travelers to learn quickly according to their levels.
The program level divisions depend on the month. The best months for beginners are from mid-June until mid-October and the end of December until mid-March.The best months for experts are from mid-June until mid-September and the end of December or the beginning of January until the end of February. In results, there is a great chance to boost your skills in easier and faster way.
As the hotel and Girlz Active are very much involved in the local village, both concerning the development of the village as well as its well-being. For you to experience the local community, which the hotel is a part of, Girlz Active offers a free and guided tour in the village included in your package.
For Vera, 2014 has been a great year as she got Junior World and European Champion in kitesurfing. Now, she is training a lot to get herself to the next level and to start competing in the senior world tour.
After being a professional runner for many years, Kelly was stuck on some level and decided kitesurfing would be a relax hobby to do next. She had competed at the European championship where Kelly got the third position, the Asian championship, and at the Dutch Nationals where she got the first and second position in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
The retreat will take place in Zanzibar, a small idyllic beach holiday paradise off the Tanzanian coast of East Africa. You can find the most beautiful beaches, coconut palm trees, and crystal-clear waters on the island.
You will stay at Paje, the village that is set against the stunning background of endless blue Indian Ocean and beautiful white beaches. It is an African village where the pace of life seemingly has not changed for over fifty years.
The villagers are mostly curious, friendly, and welcoming, making Zanzibar a unique place in the world to combine such extreme sport with its magnificent culture served by the island and its people.

You are provided daily meals for breakfast and dinner at the hotel. You can choose between the lovely dishes of traditional Swahili food and western style meals. The menu card offers a selection of snacks, pancakes, seasonal fruits, and more. You can always find hot water for your cup of tea or coffee.
During your free time, there are several interesting activities to do on the beach such as diving, boat trips, a safari tour, spice tours, swimming with the dolphins, and many others. You can also relax by walking around the village and enjoying the private beautiful beach.
The Hotel would also like to give you a unique opportunity to experience the world of African art. Girlzactive has initiated a co-operation with a local woman named Anitta. She has for many years run her own art shop in Stone Town. Besides holding an immense collection of unique African artworks, she has also worked as a talent scout of upcoming talent for years. In that way, she has been helping many artists create a career, and many are more or less established in or outside Zanzibar today.
If you are looking to experience the real Zanzibar, a biking trip is a good idea. On a trip like this, you can take the time you need, and experience a beautiful day with a lot of possibilities of non-planned adventures and impulsive meetings with the local people. As a guest of Girlzactive, biking will, of course, be available for you to use for free.
For those who would like to know more about the Swahili culture, this can also be a unique opportunity to get a historical glimpse of the Swahili culture and its development. As guest of Girlzactive, this course is free of charge.
If you are the type of person who can not sit still too long at a time, there is a pool table in the hotel area, which is freely available to everybody.
After a pleasant day on the beach or an adventurous day with sightseeing, it can be nice to just let yourself doze off in a comfortable couch with a cold drink or a cup of coffee, waiting the night falls and slowly gets dark. You can also share your experiences and impressions with other guests or the staff at the hotel and ask them to watch Africa related film together.
Approximately one time a week the Hotel arranges a small presentation of the Masaai culture. It is taking place in the late afternoon and after dinner follows a performance, where a group of Masaai people performing their traditional “jumping dance”. Everyone is, of course, free to join them.
Please book your flight to arrive at Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Girlz Active will pick you up from the airport.
Once arrived on Zanzibar, there will be a taxi arranged by Girlz Active and after a one hour journey, you will arrive in Paje. Don’t forget to tell the driver to stop at the ATM, as there are only a few on the island and there are all in Stonetown and on the airport.
