Gingerhill Farm Retreat

During this retreat, you will be staying at Gingerhill Farm. Gingerhill Farm Retreat is a sustainable, organic farm and community located in the lush tropics of Kealakekua, Hawaii. Founded by Mayumi Oda, known as the Matisse of Japan for her inspirational Goddess artwork.

Gingerhill boasts a bountiful array of healing foods and medicinal herbs. Banana and papaya trees abound, interlaced with wild edibles and colorful flowers. It is a farm community dedicated to exploring sustainability, self-sufficiency, and stewardship of the land.

They chose this property because of its deep volcanic soil, ideal elevation, and breathtaking ocean views. Now that the gardens and orchards are mature, they love being able to harvest a huge variety of nutrient-dense food from the land. Visitors are always blown away by the garden of Eden-style food forests.

Take a stroll around the farm and say hi to the animals. Hike down to the bay and swim with the dolphins. Gingerhill Farm offers an exotic escape from the hustle and bustle of 21st-century living. To these ends, they have transformed the lush five-acre plot into a verdant botanical food forest.

Inspired by the principles of agroforestry and syntropic farming, Gingerhill Farm seeks to establish a genuine food forest to sustain its community of dedicated volunteers and retreat participants.

The retreat accommodations are situated among the flourishing flora and fauna and boast enviable views of their rich vegetation and the vivid Hawaiian sunset. Retreat spaces are adorned with Mayumi's original artwork and are open to the natural environment. They enjoy communal meals on the ocean-view lanai, taking in the scents, smells, and imagery of the Hawaiian country.

As you meander through the gardens and orchards, you will marvel at the incredible abundance and beauty available to organic farms in Hawaii.

Facilities

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all of the rooms and common areas on the property.

The orchards boast hearty avocado trees, juicy lychee, and medicinal noni, while the gardens are rich with organic greens, root vegetables, beans, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, herbs, and exotic plants.

Program

About the Program

Awake Goddess Untamed was created to stoke the fires of adventure and creation, the fierce furnace of the feminine within you all. Embracing the wisdom of the four archetypes, yoga, the Vedas, sacred plant medicine, and indigenous culture, you will steep yourself in movement, ritual, fellowship, deep reflection, and authentic expression. This is not a retreat, this is a journey.

A remembrance of your sacred dance, like walking an ancient path that you know by heart. Re-wilding is the heroine’s journey of transmutation. An expedition to the jungle of your souls to bring forth the medicine of the wild. Together, you will frolic in your powers as lovers, warriors, wise women, and enchantresses, in turn becoming the medicine that the world needs. Time is of the essence.

Four Elemental Archetypes

The number four has a special meaning in the wheel of life. It represents four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall; four directions: north, east, south, and west; four elements: air, fire, water, and earth; and four archetypes: wise woman, lover, warrior, and enchantress.

These elements, cycles, and archetypes reside in all things. They are the rhythms that animate life and reside in the stories and myths that humanity has told throughout the ages. You will invite the primal power of these archetypes into your lives for transformation.

1. Water: The lover and sensuality

Enjoy sensuous activities that inspire ecstatic play. Dance barefoot underneath the starry sky, drum to the unique rhythm of your own soul, bathe yourself in nature’s embrace, swim at secluded beaches, and let the ocean cleanse you. You will learn about the true meaning of Tantra and the sacred union of the masculine and feminine within.

2. Fire: The warrior and strength

You will awaken the warrior within you through yoga and pranayama. Stoke your inner fire through courageous movement. You will sharpen your mind with meditation and mindfulness practices. You will remember the ancestral integrity in your bones by traversing through Hawaii’s diverse, volcanic landscapes.

3. Earth: The wise woman and spirituality

Healing begins inside with the understanding that everything has spirit. You will learn how to cultivate plants for high-vibrational healing and nourishment. Come together in a ceremonial circle with your tribe of wild women and release karmic bonds that no longer serve you. Together, you will manifest your intentions.

4. Air: The enchantress and sovereignty

Experience the majesty of the sacred valleys of the far north where the Great Kamehameha III, unifier of Hawaii was born. Here you are moved to take a higher perspective, look back at the path of your lives, and see how every twist and turn has led you to your own point in the cosmos. With grace and sovereignty, you move forward, unified in power to the next great adventure of your lives.
