Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton is the founder of Gili Yoga, an experienced yoga teacher trainer and vice World Champion Freediver. She has been deeply immersed in the practice of yoga, meditation and freediving as a spiritual practice for the last 10 years. Originally from Victoria, BC, Canada, she is a child of the universe and a lover of animals, nature and adventures. Authentic, supportive and playful, Kate’s teaching will encourage you to embrace yourself and embody your potential. She thrives on community, movement, nourishment, and love.

My friend and I booked the 5 night stay and play package. Room was sweet and clean and exactly what I had expected. Good air conditioning and the bed was large.

We were woken one morning to a very excited gecko which had decided to bunk with us and for something so small boy are they loud! Make sure you keep your bathroom door closed in the evening as the shower is open air to stop any bugs from coming in.

The yoga itself was a lovely easy flow style classes great for beginners and intermediates. If you are planning on taking the "Fly High" class book in the morning as the class fills up very quickly and we were disappointed to have missed out.

The staff were a mix of really friendly and some seemed a little moody but the overall service was great.

Breakfast was delicious with lots of healthy smoothie bowl options great for vegans/vegetarians and gluten intolerance.

They had scrambled eggs too if you wanted something more traditional.

We didn't partake in the diving but did a little bit of snorkeling and loved the beaches of Gili T.

Would highly recommend to stay here if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and a great healthy breakfast!

The accommodation was lovely, rooms large with beautiful bathrooms. The sliding doors do let some noise in but given the location that is expected. The Yoga was awesome, and the class is set up for people of all skills set, be warned though you will get hot and sweaty in some of the classes.

The freediving was fantastic. Having instructed as a sea kayak guide for the last three years, I can recognise the challenges around managing people of different skill sets, training background to produce a quality course. Viktor, our instructor, was great. He was direct and critical allowing us to develop better skill sets to increase our freediving potential. One bit of advice for future students of the level II course is watch where you eat (there is nothing worse than bali belly at 25mtrs) and also try and get some practice dives in prior to the course (it will save a lot of time)
