The escape begins in the lively surfer town of Dominical. It is nestled up in the bluffs above the town. You will settle into the luxurious digs for the week where the expansive ocean views and lush rainforest surroundings that are a delicious respite for the body and soul.

Manu Villas

Perched on a bluff atop a private reserve of over 300 acres, these luxurious yet eco-friendly villas provide guests with sweeping Pacific ocean views, two infinity-edge pools, rainforest surroundings, sandy beaches below, and the chance to experience the astonishing wildlife in the area.

San Jose

You will be staying at a charming Costa Rican family-owned hotel in downtown San Jose on your arrival day.

This retreat will start and end in San Jose.

Day 1

Arrive at San Jose at any time. There are optional tours you can do if you arrive early, such as San José city tour, coffee plantation, Poás Volcano, and La Paz Waterfall Gardens.

Day 2

A morning meet and greet of the group will take place over breakfast in a tropical garden in San Jose. It will be followed by a ride along the dramatically beautiful Pacific coastline to the town of Dominical. Enjoy an afternoon spent lounging poolside, or enjoying the spectacular view, before meeting in the yoga pavilion for the first practice with Stephanie.

Day 3

You will have a sunrise yoga class in the ocean-view rancho to warm the body and mind for the day ahead. Today, take some time to wander the seemingly endless lengths of Dominical Beach, or put your feet up at a beachside bar and watch the surfers catch a wave. Later, join Stephanie in a relaxing yoga session before dinner.

Day 4

Sunrise yoga in the yoga rancho. After lunch, you’ll head out into the tropical rainforest for a horseback ride to the dramatic Nauyaca Waterfall. Jump in for a swim in the cool mountain waters, or simply enjoy the incredible view, before heading back to the retreat center for a calming yoga session before bed.

Day 5

After sunrise yoga and breakfast, you will head into town for an exciting surf lesson with a local instructor. Learn to catch a wave, before returning to the retreat center and reconvene with a relaxing yoga session before dinner.

Day 6

Sunrise yoga in the yoga rancho before a relaxing day spent at your leisure. Reconvene in the yoga rancho for an afternoon session before heading down to the beach to take in a spectacular sunset.

Day 7

After a morning yoga session and hearty breakfast, you will participate in a half-day of seva with a scarlet macaw reintroduction project right on the grounds of Manu Villas. After returning to the retreat center and eating lunch, catch up on some R&R or take a delicious dip in the pool. Later, relax with a Yin style yoga session in the evening to get ready for a restful night’s sleep.

Day 8

On the last day together at Manu Villas, join Stephanie for a morning yoga session before you enjoy a day at your leisure. Add an optional tour today, or simply relax on the deck and revel in stunning ocean views. Reconvene in the yoga rancho for the last yoga session as a group before bed.

Day 9

The day will start bright and early as breakfast will be enjoyed together as a group before bidding farewell to the lovely Manu Villas and head back to the San Jose airport for your departure.
