Surrounded by the rolling hills of Andalucia, sits the magical retreat center of Suryalila. It really is like a view out of a Van Gogh painting!

Traditionally an old olive farm, it has been regenerated into an eco-permaculture site with a beautifully renovated farmhouse along with glamping tents and yurts, offering accommodation types to suit all budgets.

The property is home to some 200 olive trees and much of the food served is grown on the land itself.

The saltwater pool is perfect for an early morning dip or lounging around in the afternoons, as is the lush green lawn and the many shaded zen areas around the property. There's plenty of space to either connect with others or find peace and tranquility with a little alone time if you need it. No matter where you are you are spoilt with stunning panoramic views!

Program

Whether you are a yogi interested in moving outside the mat, a dancer wanting to develop a more conscious practice or a complete beginner in both, this retreat is designed for each and everybody – all it requires is an open mind and heart!

Using the 5 elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) alongside the corresponding chakras, you will work your way through the elements, exploring how you can tap into these different energies to bring more balance and greater awareness to your mind, body, soul – and the way you move!

What is embodied movement?

Our bodies get used to the same patterns and the same movements, and day after day, we can become unaware and "stuck" in our ways, physically, emotionally, and energetically. This practice is a combination of different conscious movements, moving the body in ways you just don’t get to do with other forms of exercise (even yoga!)

You will explore movements in a fun and dynamic way, a combination of body isolation, dance, martial arts, yoga, mindful exercises, and intuitive motions from animalistic, to sensual, to childlike and playful flow, dance, and find freedom through movement, a mix of all kinds of crazy, conscious, fun stuff to move in your way, for your body, building a connection with your true self and others.

Learn to bring more awareness to the body, release blockages, heal, and prevent injury, become "unstuck", and improve balance, strength, flexibility, and fluidity. Think and move outside the box (in fact, there is no box!).

The 3 main styles are:

  • Vinyasa
  • Embodied Movement/Flow
  • Yoga dance

It can also be described as Intuitive Flow. There will also be some Yin and Nidra in the evenings but the main focus of the retreat is yoga embodied movement and dance. “Finding Freedom Through Movement”

Day 5: Air

Feel free to enjoy the facilities of Suryalila until 15:00. Option to add lunch for 15 EUR. All classes and activities are optional - if you feel you need to skip any, or simply need more rest time or space it is always welcomed. It's most important that you do you.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Seville Airport (SVQ) or Málaga Airport (AGP). Transfer from and to these airports is available upon request.

For the transfers, the price is per car. Normally it is possible to team up with other guests at the retreat and share a transfer together to save costs. Free Spirit Yoga does their best to arrange this and normally it works out so there are at least 2 of you (sometimes 4) that can share the cost of the transfer.

Free Spirit Yoga can also provide transfers from the Seville train or bus station, Jerez Airport, or Villamartin Bus Station. Alternatively, you can hire a car - the drive is beautiful!

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 15% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
