Francesca Marchi Scuola Yoga Shivapuri Satyananda yoga is pleased to invite you to spend wonderful days welcoming spring to the atmosphere of the rebirth of Easter and the arrival of the first rays of summer, which in these places is pure wonder. Days are fully dedicated to yoga and your natural well-being on this island where nature offers an abundance of gifts between wonderful gardens and the sources of natural hot waters that abound as in an Eden. The hermitage of Santa Maria di Montevergine overlooking the splendid bay of San Francesco will leave you speechless.
Eremo Di Montevergine is an ancient hermitage disputed for centuries between monastic orders. In the 1900s, it was the holiday villa of a noble English family whose white walls resonate with art, music, writing, and life in the wonderful garden with plants brought from India and the Mediterranean coasts.
Today, the place has been renovated with wisdom and elegance by a famous architect thanks to the love and care of the current owners.
In a very panoramic position, the Montevergine Hermitage, dating back to the early 1700s, dominates the Bay of San Francesco which is about 100 meters from the entrance to the Hermitage adjacent to the Church of San Francesco.
The unique location, in the Lacco Ameno area, is nestled between Forio and the suggestive San Montano Bay, an exclusive location that has always been considered a residential area with prestigious villas and hotels.
Nearby is the mystical Bosco di Zaro with the villa "la Colombaia" which once belonged to the director Luchino Visconti. In the same forest, there is a place of worship dedicated to the Madonna di Zaro, while a few steps from the Hermitage you can visit the famous "Gardens of Mortella", considered among the top ten most beautiful gardens in Europe.
A short distance away, you reach the wonderful and lush Negombo Thermal Garden in the suggestive and splendid Bay of San Montano.
From the small square in front of the Church of San Francesco di Paola, you enter the Hermitage through a wrong iron gate. A long covered patio, bordered by large and beautiful arches and stairs, leads to the large and bright entrance which leads into the main part of the Hermitage.
Here is the Petrea apartment, the former manor house of an English noblewoman from the early 1900s it is located in the center of the apartments like the pistil of a flower in the center of the petals. The main protagonist of Petrea's immense "sometimes" very white hall, surrounded by large windows and clear light, the large grand piano inlaid in wood with the carved initiatives of the great writer and pianist Alfred Stead founder of the noble family.
Each apartment is named after a Greek nymph: Calypso, Galatea, Actea, Teti, and Nesea. The western exposure of the Hermitage allows you to admire breathtaking sunsets from almost all views and on the horizon the profile of the island of Ventotene.
The importance of yoga today. Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most precious heritage of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow (Swami Satyananda Saraswati).
Today, a spiritual heritage is being reclaimed of which yoga is an important part. While the central theme of yoga remains the supreme goal of a spiritual path, yoga practices provide tangible and direct benefits to everyone, regardless of spiritual goals.
Physical and mental purification and strengthening are the most important outcomes of yoga. What makes it so powerful is that yoga works on holistic principles of harmony and union. According to medical researchers, yoga therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems that directly influence all other systems and organs of the body.
For most modern people, yoga is simply a means of maintaining health and well-being in an increasingly stressful society. Asanas eliminate the physical discomfort created during a day in the office sitting in a chair, hunched over a desk. Relaxation techniques help one get the most out of increasingly limited free time. In an age of ringing cell phones and 24-hour shopping, yogic practices have great significance on both a personal and business level.
The Island of Ischia, already rich in thermal water sources with countless therapeutic virtues, renowned throughout the world for the Terme di Ischia, also enjoys a fortunate geographical location that ensures ideal climatic and environmental conditions to restore body and spirit.
Ischia and its waters, thermal springs, the wonderful thermal gardens, the wellness centers, in an environment composed of the rocky cliffs of Epomeo, the relaxing pine forests, the fresh sea breeze, the beaches, and the many, suggestive, panoramas make the ancient land of "Inarime", a sort of sweet enchanted garden where you can enjoy the beneficial effects of the sources of eternal youth.
Francesca Marchi (sn.Shivapuri) has been studying and practicing yoga since 1977. Having met and recognized her as Guru Sw. Satyananda Saraswati in 1985, she follows the Satyananda yoga tradition. During these periods, she studied and collaborated with the BSY in the still-living presence of Sw. Satyananda. She has been teaching yoga since '93 and in 2001 she founded her own yoga school. From 2001 to today, she has taught various levels and holds numerous yoga retreats.
