Would you like to come back from vacation all tanned, fit and energetic, then this yoga holiday might be something for you! During this unique yoga holiday, you will sail every day to special locations with amazing views while you still have all the privacy to join a yoga class. You can also have your practice on the sundeck, the ship or on the beach, so you can gain vitamin D.

During the yoga trip you will be spending your nights aboard a classic wooden sailing yacht. There are 3 to 6 cabins available on the ships, suitable for 6 to 12 persons. The cabins have double beds and on some ships there are cabins with a double bed and a single bed, and cabins with 2 single
beds. Each cabin has its own shower, sink, toilet and wardrobe. Which ship will be used is based on the size of the group. Most of the time, the sailing ship ‘the Serdar’ will be used. But it can also happen that you will use a larger sailing ship like ’the Karaslan’, or smaller: such as the ‘Santa Maria or Kaptan Deniz’.
On every ship there’s a spacious lounge with a bar and a big table for outdoor dining. On the stern deck you can enjoy the lovely lounge sofas. There is a very large sundeck where everyone has his/her own sunbed and where yoga classes can be held. There are enough places for everyone to put down a yoga mat. Yoga mats are present on board!
The captain will discuss your preferences every day, with the chart on the table, so that you know exactly where you are. You will all listen together to the wind and weather forecasts and you will determine jointly where the group will go from day to day.
The first and last yoga class and the departure of the boat depend on the time of arrival and departure of guests. In most cases you sail on the first day and your first yoga class will be held on the following day.
Each yoga class is held on a different location. Every day you will have 2 yoga classes, one before breakfast and one before dinner. The morning class (when everyone is well rested) is a challenging one, to wake up nicely. After this lesson, breakfast will be served and after a refreshing dip in the water, the sails will be hoisted for a relaxing sailing trip.
When you arrive on the following beautiful location, you will have free time in the afternoon for snorkeling, swimming, reading books and hiking in the beautiful surroundings. At the end of the day, you will have a Restorative Yin yoga class. After this class, you will have the time to refresh yourself before enjoying a social drink, followed by healthy Mediterranean dishes. You will be pampered during the sailing cruise and you don’t have to do anything, because the well trained crew can sail without assistance (but if you would like to help with the sailing, then this is possible of course). Groceries will be done; the cooking and the dishes will also be taking care of.
At the end of the evening you can enjoy falling asleep under a beautiful starry sky on the deck or in your cabin.
On September 9 the focus will be a bit more on Mindfulness & Yin Yoga. On September 23 you can choose between this regular Yoga Cruise or also a more Mindfulness & Yin Yoga oriented cruise. Ask the organiser about the details.
Everything is flexible. For example, excursions can be organized if you want. Walking, driving a scooter on Symi, visit local markets, hiking, a day of shopping in Bodrum, scuba diving, horseback riding, visit an olive farm, Knidos, a culture and art museum, Eski Datca, you name it!
Brigitte finished her Vinyasa yoga training under Johan Noorloos at the Nieuwe Yogaschool in Amsterdam. She gives weekly yoga classes at Flow Yoga in Leiderdorp, mainly Vinyasa flow and yangyin, sometimes also core flow and Hatha yoga. In addition, she also teaches yoga and breathing technique workshops to her colleagues at a large international company. She also teaches on the boat. In the morning it is a dynamic, energetic flow class, and in the afternoon it's usually a Yin lesson or a relaxed flow.
Suus de Jong
Suus is a traveling yoga teacher with a great passion for Turkey. Throughout her traveling sailing life she never experienced good yoga classes so she decided to take training to become a teacher herself. She took her Ashtanga yoga training under Johan Noorloos, Anat Geiger and Marcel van de Vis Heil. At first to gain more knowledge for her own 'practice'. But soon she figured out how fun it is to teach this knowledge and show others that yoga doesn’t have to be floaty/wavy and that yoga and a glass of wine can combine perfectly. A nice balance in life.
Ester de Vos
Ester is a yoga teacher, entrepreneur and psychologist. In 2008, she founded her business Vositivity. Her work method aims to help people and organizations to work and live from the heart. She has a great commitment, with warmth and pleasure, in a sober and result-oriented way. With the JOYFUL method that she developed, she combines mental and physical work. Her programs are held in Vlieland and Bali. In Amsterdam she followed the three years training to become a yoga teacher at the Amsterdam Yoga Centre, which is based on Hatha yoga.
Yvonne brings you back in balance in 1 yoga week. She provides balance between mind, body and feeling. She simply radiates energy, enthusiasm and calm. With her background as a physical therapist, you'll be in good hands with her. Her yoga class is tuned to your body, even when you have complaints or injuries! Yoga is a great way to get back in touch with yourself. 'Out of your head, in your body'. What does your body tell you? Do you understand this? And how do you handle this? Through her yoga classes she brings you back in touch with your body and so with yourself.
My own yoga path started around 15 years ago with Iyengar yoga, and over the years I have practiced various yoga styles such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin and even Acro (batic) yoga. I really love to get lost during the practice in "the flow" of different poses and breathing, that's why I finished my yoga training in Vinyasa Flow, and until now I still explore and deepen my knowledge in Prana Flow. I also apply this wonderful flow yoga during my weekly lessons in business and at the Glow Yoga studio in Haarlem.
On this yoga holiday you will sail to the picturesque bays of South West Turkey, in the Gulf of Hisaronu and to the colorful Greek Symi, an idyllic island, where you can only fall in love with.
The great thing about this area is that you can sail between Turkey and Greece, which is a wonderful combination. The temperature of the water is perfect and during the summer, there is a constant sailing wind.
The chef prepares both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, so there’s something suitable for everyone. The dishes are healthy and prepared with organic products.
Breakfast: fresh bread, toast, various types of cheese and meat toppings, jams, honey, yogurt, muesli, tomatoes, cucumbers, fruit, orange juice, eggs, water, tea and coffee. Extensive and varied hot lunch: pastas, salads, soup. Dinner: Vegetarian dishes, but also meat and fish dishes, prepared in a Mediterranean way and a barbecue. Dinner is concluded with a dessert of different kind of fruits or delicious sweets such as ice cream or baklava.
Served throughout the day: Coffee, tea, water, various soft drinks, fruit juices, rose, red and white wine. But also different delicacies such as biscuits, home-made cake, dried fruit, chocolate, candy, different kind of fresh fruits, healthy snacks such as nuts, vegetable dips, olives and savory snacks.
It is very nice to explore the romantic villages and cozy ports. Therefore, there are two dinners on land which are not included in the package. You can choose yourself where to dine and do as crazy as you want, on average, expect to spend fifteen euros per person.
On board, you can make use of canoe, snorkeling and fishing materials which are available all the time. Do you like motorized water sports, such as water skiing, wakeboarding or jet skiing? This can also be arranged! Yoga mats are present, so you don’t need to carry this around yourself.
