If you are committed to embracing all the components of yoga into every aspect of your life, then this course is for you. It is not about how flexible you are, or how many years you have practiced yoga, but about whether you want to teach with compassion, an open heart, and authenticity, at a deeper level. The aim is to guide and support you embrace the sacred power of yoga and deepen your connections to those around you, creating joy, happiness, health, and an open heart. This is a completely individual training that goes a lot deeper than your average 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training because it is one-to-one mentoring training, that is fully recognized and accredited by the World Yoga Alliance. Giving you the possibility to leave with not just an accredited certificate, but confidence and knowledge to teach students professionally, safely, and Internationally.
Tandy, from La Pause Yoga, will work with you on a one-to-one mentoring basis, both before and after the intensive retreat, to give you the skills, knowledge, and support to be a successful international yoga teacher. She will also guide you to deepen your own yoga journey to awakening, by bringing the classical teachings of yoga both on and off your yoga mat. It is not just a matter of learning the asanas and sequences, but to teach with authenticity, commitment, and true passion, you must live your yoga practice. Tandy will help you find your own individual voice, by building on your individual strengths and help you build in areas of weakness and challenge. This course is recognized and registered with the World Yoga Alliance.

This online and intensive immersion retreat is La Pause Yoga's flagship Yoga Teacher Training program with 5-star reviews. It offers you complete flexibility whilst giving you 200 hours of comprehensive, individually focused yoga teacher training, which is accredited by the World Yoga Alliance.
You can start the online modules straight away, at any time. These consist of virtual live training, videos, coursework manuals, guided assignments, required reading, and individual-focused feedback at every step of your journey.
A full and comprehensive course covering everything from connective tissue and muscular system to the anatomy of energetics with the breath and bandha, and how to bring this knowledge into your teaching. This in-depth module will set you apart from many yoga teachers as they bring this knowledge out of the Anatomy book into your teaching.
Yoga Shakti School also covers the vitally important concept of the students' individual skeletal differences, understanding when they are feeling tension and when they are feeling compression, and how they can adapt the posture to suit their individual bodies. They also cover how to work with people with chronic pain using their experience and research from the director, Tandy Pengelly's book 'Breaking the Attention of Pain'.
Here, you will cover the theories behind the roots of yoga and Patanjali, how yoga comes to the West and what brings people to yoga. You also look at the concept of working spiritually as a part of a cooperative group and our ego driving modern society. You will also discuss the impact of the Yoga Sutras on yoga and its development and the connection with yoga and religion.
You will also look at the individual demands of teaching yoga in the West, such as the physical stresses on the body from a predominantly sedentary society due to hours spent seated. You will also cover the evolution of the different styles of yoga and the impact on your practice.
In this section, you start looking deeper at what the true meaning of yoga is and the 'Journey' of yoga. You look at the individual relationship with the practice of yoga and how that has developed and how it can develop. You will discover that the art of yoga is to reconnect the mind, body, and spirit and learn how to teach this to your students, and how they show this in their practice. You will dive into the concept of enlightenment and the journey towards this.
Throughout this intensive course, you will look in great detail at the art of sequencing and how to target postures, themes, or energy through the sequence. You will learn how to create vibrant sequences that seamlessly flow from posture to posture. On this yoga retreat immersion students start teaching from day one, fine-tuning their teaching skills, building their confidence and skills in a safe supportive environment.
Throughout this process, you are given a lot of support, feedback, and encouragement to give you the tools to become a committed and authentic teacher, finding your own individual voice. You will also look at the role of Yin yoga postures, and how they differ from Restorative yoga in a class environment.
Safe alignment is vital for the well-being of their students, so you will look at the theory and practice of adjustment and alignment. Looking at contraindications to create safe teaching practices. The reality of teaching yoga is that the majority of your students will have some degree of past or present injury history; therefore, part of your training is designated to helping you understand how injuries leading to chronic pain develops and how you can help your students both physically and mentally to deal with their chronic pain whilst still enjoying the benefits of yoga.
You will also look in detail at the importance of props in our practice. And how and when to safely use hands-on adjustments.
Your breath is the corner of health and energy, without correct breathing, you will become sick and lacking in energy. Correct breathing in yoga is vital to enable the student to really connect with the healing practice of yoga. Here, you will cover different types of pranayama that are suitable to include in a class setting. The science behind the practice and the benefits of developing breath awareness and control. La Pause Yoga also gives you the tools and confidence to teach it to your students.
Here, you learn how to teach people to concentrate and then bring that concentration into the various types of meditation. You will learn how to teach meditation as part of a class or as separate workshops. You will practice meditation daily to also develop your own practice and fully understand the science and benefits behind the role of regular meditation.
Yoga is for everyone, and illness, chronic pain, and pregnancy should not exclude people from gaining enormous benefits from the practice. Many 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training courses do not cover this area and therefore leave new yoga teacher teachers unprepared for the vastness of students' demands and levels.
As an experienced and qualified Yoga Elder and Author of 'Breaking the Attachment to Pain', Tandy from Yoga Shakti School is passionate about this subject and has spent many years helping people feel confident in the healing practices of yoga. This module will give you the skills to create a safe yoga teaching environment for all levels of students.
Here, you will look at the role of the teacher and how to work with the often complex demands of the student. You will learn about the psychology of growth and fixed mindsets and how that impacts your students' ability to respond to the teachings and grow in their practice. You will also consider how different students learn in different ways, and how you can help students really understand the teachings that you offer them.
Yoga Nidra is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the student becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness is different from meditation, in which concentration on a single focus is required.
You will look at the benefits and uses of yoga Nidra in a class setting. You will learn the set sequence and how you can adapt it to fit the theme and length of your class.
The structure of this final module will depend on the goals of the student and therefore tailored to them. As a qualified business coach, Tandy from La Pause Yoga continues the mentoring process for 6 months after the immersion retreat to help the individual student take their personal and business yoga practice forward, to create the yogic life they desire.
This intensive immersion retreat is held in a beautiful part of rural France, where you will stay in a private gite with a luxury en-suite bedroom and swimming pool (summer retreats) You can choose dates to suit you subject to availability.
Arrival is generally on a Saturday, and airport transfers can be arranged for a small fee.
The retreat is designed to fine-tune your teaching skills, so you spend each day working on the asanas, sequencing, adjustments, and alignment. You will also learn how to incorporate the practice of pranayama, meditation, and yoga Nidra into a class setting.
Wednesday is your recuperation day, where you can catch up on your individual assignments and reading, but also enjoy a hike out into the beautiful Charente countryside or relax by the pool (summer retreats). If your retreat is in the cooler months, then maybe enjoy a massage to really relax.
Every day, you will be treated with healthy nourishing meals, juices, and teas to keep you energized, and topped up with life-giving nutrients to promote your yogic life.
Day 6 is a relax and recuperation day. So you are free to use this day to either catch up on any study required or take the day off, to explore the French beautiful countryside.

The bright and airy open plan kitchen and living room are full of sunshine with doors directly onto the pool terrace and BBQ area. For cooler months, there is a delightful wood-burning stove for cozy study evenings.
The fully equipped kitchen has a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. All linen is provided including towels for the shower rooms and swimming pool (in our summer gite). The kitchen is bright and spacious with all the crockery and cutlery you need and a lovely dining area to sit back in and enjoy a relaxing moment looking out onto the pool or the fields beyond.

The accommodation for this retreat is a fully furnished gite/private house. You will be contacted prior to the retreat to obtain a full list of foods and drinks that you can and would like to eat. Prior to your arrival your host will provide you will a stocked fridge to cover all your breakfast and evening meal needs.
These foods will be organic and local sourced if possible. You will also eat a freshly prepared vegan or vegetarian lunchtime meal with your trainer. Filtered water and herbal teas will be made available throughout the day.
Detox options with super food supplements are also available if desired. Please let us know in advance so we can ensure that we have the suitable products available.
A water filter is also provided to reduce our use of plastics.
It is very important that you fully convey your dietary needs and wants prior to arrival, to ensure that you are fully catered for.
During your down time in this retreat, you have the options of exploring the surrounding countryside by bike or visiting local historical monuments.
