Though the most widely practiced style in the world today, Hatha started out with only 35 asanas (as given in the documented written history). It dates back at least 5000 years and promises a healthy body and purity of mind. Some mistake it for a religious practice, which it is not. It only adds to yoga, which means union of mind, body and spirit.

If you are a beginner, this style of yoga is highly recommended to get a solid base for your future practice and development. Thus, its practice brings stability, flexibility and strength to the human body. Pranayama practice is an important part of Hatha yoga practice. Pranayama focuses on the exercise of Prana, life force, the energy, the air which we breath. Without the practice of pranayama, the Hatha yoga practice is considered incomplete.

Rishikesh, India, will be your home during this retreat. Rishikesh is a city surrounded by the mountains, at the beginning of Himalayas foothills, along the holy banks of Ganges river. Rishikesh is in close proximity of Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport (DED), which is a small, quiet and recently renovated airport, 15 kilometers away from Rishikesh. This city is known as world capital of yoga. It has the biggest number of yoga ashrams and yoga courses in the world, and serious students wanting to learn yoga and Ayurveda, assist there from across the globe.


Guests will be provided with fresh and healthy meals three times per day, as well as two chai coffees.

From Delhi, Rishikesh is about 230 kilometers away and its well connected with buses. A bus journey may take from 5 to 7 hours - depending on the traffic - and it costs about 330 to 730 INR. Taxi can also be arranged at a price of approximately 100 USD.
